Storm watched intently from her small hut in the middle of the barren land of her birth. For a moment she wished the dust and smoke covering her homeland would be wiped away and never return, for today was particularly gloomy and her mood did not make it better. Her hopes for being in the military were going down the tubes while her mother butchered her about being a female and how they would never let a female in the army, at least not her...
I am not inferior because I am a woman! I am stronger than most men and I can do what I choose! I am of age eight years over and deserve a better life than what you have given me. Do NOT tell me what I can and cannot do!
She had screamed these words in rage at her mother minutes before. Her mothers face turned cold and twisted with anger. Hellgar, her mother, stated to her if she did not get in her room as fast as she had said those words to her she would be where her father was...in the ground, rotting away, where Hellgar had put him in the first place. It was not very comforting to Storm that her mother was a murderer so she obeyed her.
Looking out the window, Storm was seeing something that did not happen often in the waste land. The sun was shinning thought the dust clouds overhead and pouring light over her home. The sunlight was refreshing and wonderful, why did she miss this beauty so? Another thought came to her mind and she decided she was leaving. She grabbed her sandals, bound them around her legs, put her hair in a messy bun and glanced down at the rubies embedded into her wrists and ankles. If she would have to she would use her weapon against her own mother, she was not afraid of this woman anymore. Why should she be. This woman was her mother, but not like other mothers. Cold and hate filled the emptiness that should have been her heart and Storm would not stand for it.
Walking toward the door, she looked for signs of Hellgar and the woman was no where to be seen. A relief crossed Storms mind for a moment and she looked hopefully toward the horizon that was nothing but black smog spewing from the surface of the dangerous terrain of what was before her. She would have to cross the Waste land first in order to reach Feuer-Bohrung to enlist in the military. She thought about meeting the leader of the Fire Army and smiled crookedly walking steadily on to the City.
Smoke now covered the land and her vision became small and her breath started to falter for a time until she became reacquainted with the normal atmosphere of the Waste. Loving her recent freedom she trudged onward thought the smoke, darkness was settling in now but she knew the area well enough so there was no need to stop until she became tired. She picked up what she thought was a stick and placed her palm on it, her rubied tattoos became bright as she lit the object with her bare hand. Light engulfed her in a circle and she continued out into the barren wilderness of fire hoping that nothing would keep her from reaching her newly sought destination.

The wind whipped all around Jinx as she traveled on the barren land of the fire lord. She had been sleeping in the meadows away from the horrid land when a messenger from her commander came to her. The messenger gave her the note and to her not to open it until she was long gone. Jinx had waited until she knew the messenger was far away. She was laying on her back the sun high in the air and the grass tall over her laying body in the grass. The grass swayed back and forth in the wind. Today was the perfect day, and to have received a message from her commander made it all the better. She enjoyed working for her goddess. Jinx laughed in joy. She then opened the letter and as she read the clouds covered the sky and brought rain. Everything darkened especially her mood.
Jinx, The time has come where I need you. This task is hard and I wish for only the best for it. I want you to travel to the land of fire. And tell what is going on there. We have to find out if it is our enemy or our ally. I wish you to go under cover and learn about the leaders of this nation. Meet the influences of the people. I need you to give the final say. I trust your judgment. This is what you need to do; travel into the land of fire, sneak into the ranks of fire military; find out their true intentions. Do what ever it takes. When this is done report back to me. Your commander
She read it over and over again. How she hated the Fire nation, it didn’t help that all the military in the fire nation were males. She crumbled the paper in her hand. The sky was dark now and her mood was too. She got up and collected her things and started out for the fire nation’s land.
Since that day everything around Jinx had been dark. Even in this dust bucket place it seemed terribly dark. The wind was whipping and caught the edge of her cloak revealing her robe underneath. She had been walking all day since the sun rose. When she had woken up to the she had been in a bad mood; which only got worse as the day went on. She was starting to get hungry and tired; the thoughts of resting in her head; when a heat presence around her grew. She had been walking on this land with her head down to make sure nothing came out and bite her and to make sure her feet didn’t fall into any holes; but the new presence made her stop and look up. The being before her, as she could tell even though her back was to her, was of fire. She had this circle of light that had engulfed her. The light must be from her, which made her a fire sorceress or something close to it. Jinx saw this as an opportunity, she wasn’t going to harm this being, but it was the chance to have some one of this nation lead her to the on person she was seeking out; Kaji. I’ll have to make myself as if I was a human and nothing more. I can’t have her knowing I am of wind. In the name of Airos I start this dead.
“Is… is some one over there.”
Jinx called out giving off that of a hopeless wonderer. Jinx had her wind powers completely under control. There was no way the being would be able to tell where she had come from. Jinx looked forward to the being. Her cloak open in the wind only showing off her female figure, tie up sandals, and purple robes. She reached up and lowered her hood, showing her bright yellow eyes. Jinx closed her eyes once and opened them while the being’s back was still to her, in them now was the sense of being lost, yet strong. The dust around her was dark and the wind raged against her. She was now the image of any human warrior of fire.

Storm looked before her with anticipation of reaching her destination. Keeping her torch as near to her as possible she kept a sure footing on the horrible terrain of the waste she was so acquainted with. A nostalgia grew as she kept walking, reminding her of the trips away from her mother to the city of fire as a child. There was nothing more she enjoyed than free will, her own. Nothing was going to stop Storm, ready and determined, she kept a wary eye open for unwanted guests. Crossing the waste was dangerous, a task that was tedious and occasionally lethal, if you paid little attention to your surroundings and the creatures of the waste. Already thinking like a soldier she kept her senses clear and let no sudden thoughts interrupt her concentration. I the next moment Storm heard a voice in the distance, a voice from behind. A females voice. Eye's wide with surprise she kept her back to her for a moment...
Great, she sighed...just what I need, a female...
Storm spun around, hoping this woman was in no danger. Women she despised, even though she was one, she hated their ways and attitudes and she did not doubt that some women thought like-wise about her. Her look was calm and quiet but in her eyes a fire raged, reflecting what minimum light they had so that the orange was noticeable.
She looks to me as a person of fire, but still one can not tell another's intentions. I believe I will have to make my intension's fuzzy as well. I will not tell her of my mission, only to where I am headed if she is in need of my aid, and that is all. Loyalties are hard to find in these times, I must not make myself easily read, if so all could be lost.
Waving her torch away from her body she attempted a gesture of summoning toward the other female, maybe she would approach her or maybe not. Storm held her hard gaze and waited for what would come, the thought of night approaching made Storm more irritated, this would set her back a few hours or so, and along with that she was not so sure of what she would do with her new aquantance...her expression changed to a twisted smile, no harm would she inflict upon this woman...not yet anyway.

Jinx had stood there, wind pulling and dust in the air ripping at her flesh. Jinx did not like these harsh conditions; she could handle them, but they where against her favor. The being before her stopped; she gotten her attention. The begin had spun around and looked back on Jinx. From the secret looking over of the being, Jinx could tell it was a woman; a strong one with orange eyes. She waved the torch of hers away from her body and sent Jinx a summing gesture. This was good; the woman hadn’t acted hostile toward her. She wished not to have to harm this woman. If the fire nation proved to be with us then she would make a good woman in the military. That would be if she would be allowed entrance into the fire’s military. If not, and Jinx and her got along enough, she would pull as many strings as need to get her in a military; hopefully the fire with her native people.
Jinx waited only a brief moment before proceeding to the woman. She had to perfect her strut so that she didn’t seem arrogant or klutz. As Jinx put her foot down she called upon her wind gift, making sure no one could detect it before putting it to use, to make her step light and gentle. It made her seem to have all the grace of any being, but not the show of strut. As she did this with every step towards the being, she did make eye contact. Only when she was not a few feet from her did she raise her head to look at the woman fully. She looked up at the woman and looked closely at her smile and tried to memorize her features just in case she needs to find her in the future. Jinx’s mind quickly came up with a reasonable lie and fake name then put on an undetectable mask of the need to the things she was about to say.
“Hi… I’m Keria; I’m not from this part of our land. I’m from further out, but I was coming this way to go to the city to find my brother. Our mother is ill and I need to find my brother to ask him for aid. He is under Lord Kaji rule; I have to find his military unit and all. When I came across you, you seemed to know where you are heading. Could you at all possible point me out in the right way at the lest?”
Jinx let the muscles in her forehead drop giving her the look of despair at her mother’s account. She reached up to her head and whipped at the dust on her face. Her arms feel to her side and went on her hips; but before doing so, she, in a manor that gave off no sense of danger or up coming threat, pulled her cape out of the way to show off her sword as she placed her hand on her robe. She did this as to not look as though she was showing off her sword, even though that was the purpose to make it know she was not a naive brat in need of her older brothers help, but to just place her hand on her rope belt. Jinx turned her head to look out in all directs.
“I’m not a weakling, but lost out here in this dust storm does me no good, and I can’t help my mother this way. I need to reach my brother at the military base in order to get her help. I can’t help her, because only my brother knows what she came down with many years ago. Then she had the same symptoms as she does now; so I think it is the same thing. But I can’t treat her unless I know what it is. Please, I need to reach my brother.”
Jinx didn’t like lying to the woman, but she needed to get her mission done. Maybe if she had come to good enough terms with this woman later when everything was settled, she could explain why and that she wouldn’t of had she not of had to; but at this time there was no choice. Jinx had a mission and that was what was in her head now. She looked up into the woman’s eyes now. Her eyes showed the woman every desperation of needing to get to the city; after all the desperation was true. She wanted more than anything to get there, get the mission done, and go home. Now Jinx had to wait to se if the woman would help her out.

Storm stared the woman before her down, keeping her sheepish grin watching her cross the waste before her, oddly the female's steps were light for a villager of fire, but not an extraordinary gate. She quickly drew her attention back to this womans face, she was no frail being which gave Storm a slight relief.
Keria is her name and she wishes to find her brother to save her mother...well, and to the city...wonderful...
"Names are nothing out here, and many lie to me. I have yet to find a woman who does not speak for her own personal gain. Myself included. I have little reason to help you, even if I am headed to the city..."
She stopped her words for a moment and listened for a second response.
How convincing...the poor woman wishes to save her mother from sickness, and I wish mine dead...
Watching the female she saw her wipe her face of the soot of the waste and then show her weapon, a very peace-like gesture. Storm responded in the same way not to be to impolite. She tugged on her golden dagger wrapped in the red sash tight around her waste and held out the dagger and then placed it back in her belt.
Well at least she is not a savage beast...it could be worse.
The woman spoke again this time giving her strength status, and restating her need of her brother.
Well, that is truthful....she thought sarcastically, not quite sure of this woman yet. Whatever is driving this woman is a strong force and she with no doubt wants to go to Feuer-Bohrung, for whatever reason. No harm could come to being kind once and a while, she glared at the woman, probably appearing very hostile toward her new encounter...so called Keria..
"I will help you reach your destination, for whatever purpose or personal gain you receive from it, I will not take responsibility for any of your actions. I am your guide not your keeper. Do you understand..."
Storm did not mean to sound too harsh but she wanted the woman to know that she was not fooling around.
"As soon as we reach the city you are on your own...I do not wish to have a tag-along to where I am going....
At least this woman is not a demon of the shawdows...then again I would rather take on one of those than deal with women...

"Names are nothing out here, and many lie to me. I have yet to find a woman who does not speak for her own personal gain. I included. I have little reason to help you, even if I am headed to the city..."
When names are nothing it says something about the land; it really does. I wasn’t sure how this land could be suitable for life; but some how it was. Some how this barren land, which this woman was from, was good enough to live in. Jinx’s mind couldn’t help but wonder something. This land my seem dead and not worth a lick in the mind’s eye of one; such as herself; it looked like a dust pit from hell to her, but to other’s it was much different. To some people, this was home. This was their escape from the world around them. Jinx got caught up in her thoughts that her eyes seemed to leave the moment and drift over the land.
I wonder what it must be like to live this life; to be one who lives their lives under the dust of their lord and god. I can’t imagine this life; I can’t imagine living in the dark and never seeing the sky and sun. To be open to the sky and have my freedom of my life, to be have the evidence of my goddess floating around me, pushing me in my right directions and storming when I’m wrong. That’s my life and how I like it… but… but… that is my life, not theirs. They were raised different from me, they value different things. And it happens that this sort of thing might be what they like and value. Who am I to judge them…? What am I saying; we are enemies still until we make an alliance. If that even happens. Fire people are evil; men are evil; I will never trust either as long as I live. I cannot forget what they did to mess my life up.
Jinx’s mind resurfaced from her thoughts. And looked toward the woman just as she tugged on her golden dagger wrapped in the red sash tight around her waste and held out the dagger and then placed it back in her belt. This woman obviously knew how to deal with weapons. Good that would be a good quality should they ever be side be side in battle together. The only thing that made Jinx unsure of the woman hostility towards her; she didn’t take this to well. She is a woman of good sense and strength apparently, but if she was going to make her job harder she wouldn’t stand it to long. She herself didn’t like dealing with others, making her job harder than it is normally. It was nothing against the woman; but she had to get this mission done. It was of the highest priority at the moment. If Fire was on their side it could swing the war in a total different direction.
Knowing she had to get to the city and then probably end up leaving the woman, she was glad to hear the woman’s next words. It made this easier to get there and not need to be busy with good–byes and not having suspicions about her when she entered the military base and hunted to meet the influences of these people.
"I will help you reach your destination, for whatever purpose or personal gain you receive from it, I will not take responsibility for any of your actions. I am your guide not your keeper. Do you understand...?” "As soon as we reach the city you are on your own...I do not wish to have a tag-along to where I am going....
The woman’s words where harsh but understandable. Jinx understood; and all that junk was out of the way. Now it was time to get moving; she wanted to get to a place for shelter for the night and wanted to spend as little time as she had to out her.
“I don’t expect you to take any responsibility over me. I just need your guidance to the city; for like I said I do not live out her and I will get lost out here and end up dead. Once I’m in the city I’ll be able to handle myself. We will probably go separate ways form there. Like you said you don’t wish a tag along; and I wish not to be one. I have my own agenda to follow… for my mother’s sake.”
Jinx looked up to the sky to try to find the sun. She could tell night was close upon them; she didn’t want to be wandering for shelter in the dark with this dust around her. She was not afraid of the dust or dark; she actually liked the dark and lived in it; but her counter part now was against women intention. She didn’t want to not be able to she the woman; she preferred to be able to have a good look at them to see when their muscles flexed in anticipation or preparation. Even more their eyes, it was the guide to the soul’s intentions if looked at deep enough.
“Please, lead the way my guide. As I hope we do; I wish to find shelter away from the elements so se have not to worry about what lives in these lands. I’m sure you know better than me how to find shelter in these lands. If any ways I can be of help in our search let me know; I’ll do what I can.”
Jinx meant that; she would help in any ways she could, but she refused to do everything. She was strong and could do with out food if worst came to worst, but not shelter in these parts; and as much as she hated having to rely on this woman for safe shelter; her mission came first. Her own presences came after her goddess; it was time to get to work. She stood waiting for her knew guide to lead the way to the mission she would do in her goddess name.
Jinx’s only wish was that if she had to cause any trouble she got to cause a lot. She liked to torturer the fire men. Not only was she something they couldn’t have, she was something that fought back. She was feisty and wouldn’t give up in a fight; would go down swinging. But if they where on our side; she prayed she never meet this man; their lord, because no matter what he would always be her enemy. He was fire and a man.
Jinx looked toward the woman. This was her show now though, and none of the other stuff mattered if she didn’t get her out of here. She did one more brief scan of the woman. She checked her profile and what she carried on her. Jinx didn’t see any possible threat from her at the time that would do anything to jeopardize her mission or her life. So for now she trusted her; but that could change quickly deepening on what goes on while out here; but the simplest thing could change that. Jinx just hoped it didn’t.

Storm let her red tipped hair whip her face while she stood looking at her new companion. While listening to the woman supposedly called Keria she found the wind and dirt to be quite unforgiving. The weather out here in the waste was particularly unpleasant today, unlike other days, and on top of the flying dust she now had to consider another's needs, which were opposing her own wants at the moment. Storm was now frustrated, and she did not wish to hide it. She let her orange eyes reflect her emotion of half-hearted anger toward Keria's words, she had not wanted to seek shelter until she was tired and she had just gotten on her way. Besides shelter in the Waste was hard to come by. The only close housing, not even housing, was the dunes that were directly ahead. They would certainly provide shelter from the harsh wind and dust, but as for safety that was up to them.
I guess stopping is not a bad thing, I will be able to rest early, Storm thought to bring out the positive in this little detour, anyway abandoning her after I promised to guide her is not right, but still I do not trust this woman...there is something about her I just cannot sence...
"Well Lady Keria, If you wish to seek shelter, shelter is what we will find."
Storm did not let the intensity of her gaze falter, then she made her way forward to begin her trek to the dunes.
"There are a line of dunes ahead that will protect us from the elements, although they are very uncomfortable they will have to do for there are no towns until we reach the outside of Feuer-Bohrung. The creatures of the Waste will not harm us out here, for we are both of fire and they can sense so...If we were not an ambush would be inevitable,"
Storm smirked so it was visible she was pleased with what she had said. Continuing forward, the dust became smarting against her skin and began to leave scratches on her bare face, arms and legs. The pain did not bother her, but the sand blowing into her eyes was an annoyance. Looking behind her to see if the woman was following her she advanced upon the first dune, a large dirt mound covered with weeds and brush. Storm called to Keria,
"This dune is suitable for the night or however long you wish to stay, the other side will be dry and calm, for it blocks out the harsh conditions of the waste."
She walked behind the mass of earth and all was quiet, the dune rose high enough to block out most of the dust and she sat down on the dry dirt to wait for her fellow traveler.

A red flag went off in Jinx’s head. –“The creatures of the Waste will not harm us out here, for we are both of fire and they can sense so...If we were not an ambush would be inevitable,”- Shit! She will notice I am not of fire if I draw attention to myself out here. Jinx was having a battle inside her head, but none of it came to the surface. She was cool and relaxed on the outside. The inside of her head though was another story. She some how had to adopt the presences of a fire being. Jinx’s mind almost admitted to no chance and she would have to just wing it and hope luck was on her side when it clicked. She started to walk with the woman and gently let her arms swing as she did. What her arms were truly doing though was undetectable. While her arms swung it moved around the dust in the arm; but that was only to cover up so that the woman wouldn’t see her grabbing her presence in the wind and sealing it around her. Her sense of fire persona was all around Jinx now too and the her natural wind presence was pushed behind her; and when her wrist flicked up at the end of each back swing of her arm it kicked the wind presence high up into the air. The earth’s wind from there would naturalize it out and make it becomes the wind’s own. There was no way at all possible that she could be sensed as any other than a fire being.
Jinx was happy with triumph. Her mind smiled inwardly. She didn’t let the smile come outward for when she saw the woman look back she knew that she was on a thin line and this act would have to stay out twenty-four hours of every day. She had traveled with the woman for how ever long; the dust ripping at her flesh. It hurt and the pain didn’t numb off; but she refused to show any sign of that. She was not one to subside with pain easily. Just thinking about that made her remember something that had happened a long time ago.
Jinx’s body was firmly pressed back against a wall; her arms held by a man’s and her legs useless due to the stabs in her thighs. The man holding her had been a bounty hunter who had been looking for her for quiet some time now. He was one of the poor victims of her spying. Jinx didn’t care though; he was a man and he deserved what she had done to him the many years ago. Back then he had been a man who raped young girls and saw nothing wrong with it; his sick mind had some how given him reason to believe what he was doing was right and he was due the pleasure the young bodies gave him. Jinx had been sick with his behavior; she hadn’t bother to do something on the spot, but when a part of her mission was to attain knowledge within his office, and he was inside when she had to get them, she had hurt him badly. She had used her gift to rip off the side of his flesh making him so ugly others would not come near; that including the young girls. She had not, even to the very moment before her, regretted it; even though her actions lead to his hatred of her and soon to possibly lead to her death. He had caught up with her when she was taking a bath in a hotel room. She had locked her door, but he had it open by the desk manager saying he was my husband and the foolish desk man fell for his lie. From there the man had slipped into her bathing chamber and surprised her; he grabbed Jinx from her bath and threw her into dresser behind her, making her lose her balance, breath, and idea of the situation. Sure Jinx was strong and powerful; but no being was able to predict and be ready for everything. Jinx from there rolled over and tried to make her way to her sword. The man had gotten to her before she had and ripped his dagger through her left thigh. Jinx cringed in pain and grabbed back at her leg. In that time the man had done his worse on her right. Jinx’s legs were no useless. The man grabbed her arms, picked her up, and pinned her to the wall. Jinx hit the wall; the physical impact made her slap herself mental to get with it and pick up on the situation. It was then she looked up and remembered the man by his face. Still in pain and struggling against the man with only half her strength; her powers failing her due to the need of movement from her limbs to call upon her gift. The man leaned down to her ear and whispered softly, “You think what I did to those girls was bad and wrong… wait until you see what I do to you.” Jinx’s eyes flared with the intense hatred of this man; her jaw clenched; and she stopped struggling against him. With the energy back from struggling she gathered it in her torn legs. The man unaware of he gathering of strength dropped his drawers. His body horny from the heated situation and from the fact he got off on seeing some one struggle under him. Finally he moved to start his evil dead of defiling Jinx’s untouched body; but Jinx had gathered all she needed. The pain in her legs pushed back, not letting the screaming agony get in her way, she thrust her knee as had as she could in to his groin.
That second everything changed; the balance of power; the fact that Jinx knew he had lost his chance at killing her; and his face. Jinx savored his expression change. He eyes went from dark lust to shock and horrid pain; his smile to a deep frown; he moans of getting off to a scream of pain; and his face from lusting red to earth shattering pain and humiliation. Jinx didn’t allow herself the joy of a victory yet; she was not out of danger yet. The man collapsed to the ground grabbing his groin area. Jinx also hit the ground; nothing was supporting her after all. He rocked back and forth as she fought with herself to ignore the pain and stand to finish the man off. She grabbed the counter and weakly pulled herself to her feet. Taking a deep breath she staggered to stand with just herself holding her up; she had to be centered with out touching anything to use her power. Unfortunately she could hold herself and feel back to the counter. Jinx new there was no way of making it to her weapons, had to past the man to reach them; and her gift had failed her, she couldn’t center herself on her own; but her hate for the man surpassed anything at the moment. Not only was he going to kill her, but rape her. Her hatred for the MAN intensified and her hair slowly rose off her back and up into the air, her yellow eyes a blur of hatred and intense whirl wind, and with out her knowing she lost all pain. The pain gone and replaced with the burning desire of this man’s death; she was still holding onto the counter for support but the pure energy, the same she had unleashed on her father, ripped through her and was unleashed on to the man. He had stopped rocking and just stared up at Jinx as gift created something he had never seen in his life, and probably in none others; if there had been they were dead and never had the chance to speak of it. He went to run from the blow but he couldn’t move; he found his body frozen in its place. The intense power formed into one perfect sphere of wind with the yellow color in her eyes, the same color of her soul, sealed within. The sphere stayed in place for a moment and Jinx’s lips moved on their own. “You men may all try to take my body, or try to kill me, but I am my own and shall never be tamed.” Her hair standing on edge and her eyes shinning bright gave her the look of an evil temptress for hell. “You decided your fate.” The sphere jumped to his body and consumed him. His screams of pain where masked by the raging winds eating him. Jinx just stood back and watched the skin and meat be ripped from his bones. She had done the same with her father. It only took a few minutes for the body to be completely eaten; all that remained where his bones completely clean of any form of life that used to reside on them. The power taken fully out of her she fell to the ground.
After an hour of so, she had regain enough energy to take care of her wounds and apply a cream to take away any chance of the tissue scarring. She laid there for a moment thinking. The only time she had ever used that power was on her father, and on the man who had given her the scar on her neck; she had no idea how to control this power. She reached up and gently traced it with her fingers. That man had sworn to protect her, and in the end he had double crossed her. He was the reason she spent years in the fire nation’s prison. Jinx sighed and got up to leave the place. She didn’t want to be here when the man’s bones where discovered.
The woman had found them shelter for the night in a dune. Jinx was now faced with a new problem. She had to figure out how to keep her fire costume up while pretending to be sleeping. Jinx’s brain came up with this answer easier then her first idea had come to her. While she lay down she would simply twirl her ankle making her collection of fire presence from earlier just circulate around her. The only confrontations with this was she would still give off her wind presences; that was unless she gave off all of her power or next to all leaving only room for the power she had to use to circulate the fire presences around her, and not having any of her power with her she would be down to just her physical strength and sword for defense; she would have to stay awake the whole night, not a very big concern for her seeing as she had done nights with out sleep before; and she had to do all this while acting asleep and still keeping an eye on her guide. This wasn’t easy, but Jinx put her mind to it and started to let her plan fall into place as she sat down across from her guide and used her gift to do her bidding while remaining undetectable. Jinx just had to finish off her plan with a little white lie.
“I hope you don’t mind, but I have a weird problem with my ankle. It works on its own when I’m not using it. So during the night it will twiddle around. Please don’t go to stop it though for it will cause my body to go into a fit as I’m sleeping. Sorry if it is an inconvenience. But I’d rather not alert every being out her with the screams I create in those spasms.”
Jinx cocked her head to the side and let her face mask how serious yet sorry she was for any problem this would give her guide. Unfortunately she had to lie, but it was the only way at the moment. She had to get to her goal, and with every moment the chances of her achieving her goal were getting riskier, but reachable. Now to last the night, and reach the city of fire in, as Jinx hoped, the next night.

This female is VERY strange, Storm thought inside her head. What mind-boggling things could this fire woman be hiding from me? She let her thoughts continue to wander now as she was sitting across from this Keria. I feel she is not telling the entire truth, but I can not let this get in my way, she is nothing but a fellow traveler and our life stories are something that I wish not to share…I feel violated by her in a way I cannot explain…it should soon pass as time continues, I hope…
“Well Keria, that is a strange, well how should I say it…umm, talent! Yes, that is it. But I feel our time together will be safer if we at least share our abilities to their extent. I will share mine if you agree to share yours. I feel it is best if we both know what each other is capable of, since we are both of fire this should not be too hard.” She left an open area of silence to let her conversing set in.
“You have said your brother is in the military, so he has some gifts, but what are yours… as you know every one in Pyran’s Kingdom is given a gift, the extent of them remains up to him, they all are given in consideration to better this land, coming from the God of Fire that is what all our gifts are focused on.” “So I feel it is best you begin, it is only fair, I have agreed to take you were you wish and in return I should at least be able to trust you a small amount, don’t you concur?”
She sat in silence, listening to the wind blow behind the dune, waiting for Keria’s reply.
Would she answer me and will she choose her words wisely? I need to know more about her, so our travel will be safer. Just in case of an attack from another kingdom we need to be prepared to use our powers and know how to work together, or at least trust each other to try. She also might like to know my gifts…if it concerns her I do not know, but I know that understanding hers will make me feel better…or worse. If she fears me or vise versa maybe we will decide to go separate ways, one cannot tell, but it is something I need to know.
The wind began to increase and blow the dune apart on some of the ends. It did not affect the two women yet, but Storm began to notice the intensity of the weather. Turning back to the lady she wondered it the dune would hold up long enough to last till morning…

The woman had made a lot of sense, but there was no way Jinx could create a fire power from her own; that is one that would convince a fire being such as her. She just simply opt for a lie she had just before with others missions. Many a times she had come to a point where she had to lie about her abilities to have a person take her some where; they didn’t want to be the only one able to fight most of the time. I only took her a brief second to re arrange the story to fit this situation. Jinx put her one hand on the ground to help her stand back up.
“I don’t wish to go out to my fullest extent because like you have hinted at; we won’t be companions for long. I will tell you that my brother and I were equally gift with a small amount of Pyran’s gifs. He is able to control small fires and have physical abilities more advanced than many people. He tends to stick to his fire abilities, but I can’t. Our village bands woman from learning how to control how to use fire abilities; so over time they disappeared. I rely on physical abilities; I’ve mastered the sword and my fighting is techniques are perfected because of my father’s teachings before he died. Let me show you a brief amount.”
Jinx wasn’t lying by saying she was a master of the sword; nor about her fighting abilities. She had been alive so long, when she had nothing to do she just trained and over those years she has studied almost every form of fighting possible. She never gave up on a form until it was mastered. Now standing she readied for a display of her skill. Jinx pulled he sword and crouched into he basic stance; he feet out wide, knees bent so far that he butt equal with he knees. Normally some one with bad for would be leaning forward and have their butt sticking out far; Jinx did neither. He back was perfectly straight, butt in. Her back was to the sun, her sword in her sword in her right hand. Her arm looked fully extended, but there was a little bend for a quick reaction, and her wrist held low letting the sword point slightly down to the ground. Her other arm went across her chest, her palm flexed up at her shoulder. The wind whipped at her hair and the sun hit her eyes showing off how serious her fighting abilities where. The effect of the sun behind her back made half of her in the light and half in the dark; the line of light ended right in the middle of her face. This was sort of symbolic to Jinx; not only did it show how she was telling truths and lies at the same time, and the fact that it showed off that she too, no matter what she wished to think, was too part dark. Holding this position for a moment’s time and then it started.
Jinx did a technique that many had lost, know by only the elders of the earth people, within the new era; it was a private learned technique to the people of Earth called Onaway. Jinx had learned it while on a mission. In techniques in this new time people would either advance or retreat for a start, but this move was different. She moved to neither side either; she kicks up her back foot, lifting more dust and dirt into the air, and placed it where her front foot was. Within almost the same second she lifted her front foot and placed it right behind her other foot, but turned out. She froze in that position; this was to lead the enemy to think that Jinx had no idea of what she was doing. Little did they know that the second they attacked or just moved forward that she would be able to use the spring force held locked in her legs now. After another time she used the spring force which launched her up in the air for a quick moment giving her the time to weave her sword in the air. The weave went first above her head, then down blade up to the air, out toward the right of her back, and then finally back to the center blade coming first. The swings were quick and effortless. Landing from her jump she quickly moved into the next move in the attack. She crouched down to her heels and brought her sword in toward herself and swung it in front of herself until the blade was up to the air and then extended it back out into the air in front of her. Her other arm rested at the side and her finger tips grassed the dirt. Her next movements were swifter than the others; she dipped her right shoulder to the ground making her sword almost touch the dirt, but before it did it ripped up into the air swinging herself up and around so that her sword arm crossed her left hand at the wrist and making her feet together again. Now came the time where evidence that she was well trained in the sword. If the woman blinked she would have missed the trade off of the sword from her right hand to her left and then the swing to the right making the sword fly over her head and down at the invisible enemy. The attack would have killed her appoint because any one who was a little trained at swordsmanship would know that when the back is to them, it is opportune moment to attack; but not in this situation. For the second they would come to her the attack she had done would swing around and be right in range of her sword as it came down. Nevertheless Jinx felt like doing a few more moves to satisfy the woman that she knew well what she was doing.
When she was done Jinx closed her eyes for a moment letting the energy she had welcomed in a moment ago drain from her veins. She had liked the brief moment of showing off, but she had a wish she dared not to recognize in her head. She wish that she hadn’t of done that alone and that a companion of her strength would have been sparring with her. Opening her eyes she settled herself and sat back down across from the woman. Jinx hadn’t used any of the harder or special techniques she knew because it would require her to give off she was more than meets the eye. She looked out over the land once just noticing the dirt she had kicked up. She didn’t like the fact that the area was darkening, but she would deal. She turned her head back to the woman.
“I hope that was a good enough display for now. I wish not to show off everything about me; I’m sure you wouldn’t either. I did what was necessary to prove my strengths that is all. Hopefully I won’t have to go to my fullest extent soon, or ever for that matter.”
Jinx was looking over into the woman’s eyes waiting for her response.

"Yes thank you for showing my your graceful talents in weaponry Lady Keria, I only hope you have the intelligence needed to weld such an object and your gift is not tainted for other intentions." Storm shot her companion with a blazing glance hoping she understood the nature of her response.
"I fear my gift is a bit more extreme than yours, although it requires physical contact, I have chosen not to use you in my demonstration, for my talent just as yours causes death I am afraid, but much slower and agonizing than the swiftness of the sword."
Storm stood and locked her eyes onto Keria's face waiting for an emotion to seep through it than smiled and gestured for her audience to take a seat.
"I am labeled a Fire Sorceress by Pyran and am proud of my gift, but a murderess I am not. These rubies permit my magic only to pass through my hands and feet."
She held out her wrists to show the decorated tattooing with rubies embedded in her skin, and then swiftly pulled her arms back to her body.
"They are beautiful, yes, but beauty I could live without."
Storm frowned slightly as she said this and images of her evil mother passed across her mind.
"Now," she said as she brushed the hair off of her face, "I will show you."
Storm knelt down onto the sand and placed her hands on the ground. Just as she did this her orange eyes became fluorescent and the sand in front of her began to turn red-hot and transform into a sheet of pure liquid glass. Her hair stood on end and her eyes grew wide, the pieces of elements and impurities burned around the pool of translucent glass and as her power began to intensify she suddenly stopped, her eyes darkened again and her hair swung freely down to her shoulders. She stood up right away and felt her power become tucked away within her once again.
"That is all I will show, this was not to show off but to make us each aware of our abilities in case of the worst. But before we get settled in, I would like to ask a few more questions, some of which are associated with one of our previous conversations. My knowledge of the Fire Kingdom is vast and I wish to know exactly which small village is not allowing their women to take part in the works of Pyran. Being learned in the ways of fire is not something that is tossed aside like garbage, nor is it allowed to be restricted in small villages or towns. Pyran respects male and female and it is our duty as citizens of fire to make it known as such."
Storm's face now reflected a touch of rage within her. She felt hot in the face and her jeweled tattoos glowed.
If this woman is not telling me the truth about her or does not tell me now I will label this "Keria" a spy and drag her to Lord Hito.
"Never in my lifetime or anytime before this have I heard of such a place, and If you do not become honest with me I will have no choice but to imprison you as a spy, I am willing to make allies Lady Keria you must know this, but I do NOT permit liars! If you can supply me with a valid location of who made such a law we can make our way to Feuer-Bohrung and inform Lord Hito of this misunderstanding. If not, I ask that you tell the truth now or you will enter the gates of fire as a prisoner..."

Jinx had sat back and listened through the woman’s speech. Her knowledge was vast in the fire nation, but not outside of it apparently. Had her knowledge of gone that far she would be more open to this idea of woman not being allowed to allowed to practice of their gift. Jinx had been on travels a long many years ago when she had come across a village named Segreto Casa Sicura. This village rested in mountain valley unclaimed by any god or goddess. Back many years ago, when the fire nation had hard ships with food with the land being to dry and the people not adapting to the land, they moved to this valley. There they could raise food from the earth. They made their life here and had been living like this for a long time; yet still keeping ties with their home land. Unfortunately being in unclaimed territory they didn’t want their ties to the fire nation showing for fear of losing the land or starting conflict; they had become attached to their way of life. So with most the people having the gift of Pyran, they had to limit the use of it. First in line to be allowed the practice of their gift were the elders and founders of the city, next the male warriors, and a few hunters. Any one else wasn’t allowed their gift because there was already too much being allowed; which lead to only the male warriors being allowed to use their gifts because they were naturally stronger and it gave more room for the strong males to become these warriors.
It had been awhile since she had visited the village, but she knew it was still there. They were a strong civilization. Knowing she was justified and honest saying this she feared not.
“There is a village out in the mountains called Segreto Casa Sicura. I come from there. It is unclaimed territory so due to some circumstance of not wanting problems with neighbors so we limit the gift to a selected few. We have always lived like that and prefer that way, there is no reason to change our ways of life.”
Now Jinx was to deal with a matter that had her rather ticked. “But before we get settled in, I would like to ask a few more questions… If you do not become honest with me I will have no choice but to imprison you as a spy… I do NOT permit liars... I ask that you tell the truth now or you will enter the gates of fire as a prisoner…”
-A few more questions! She hadn’t the right. I gave her my name and an idea of my strengths. We had already agreed that we would be nothing more than companions to the city. Nothing more, which means she need not enter any further in my life. Next, how can she be assuming I’m lying? I have not given her any false information, that she will know fact is wrong, that she can accuse me of. IMPRISON ME! Ha! I don’t make me out to be invincible, but I will not be taken down by one woman alone. I won’t allow this to risk my mission either. Lastly how dare she demand anything from me; then threaten me to become a prisoner if I don’t do as she wishes. HOW DARE HER!-
The anger that she had created within Jinx was burning hot, yet on the outside you could see nothing of it. In her rage she didn’t act rash but become more cleaver. She put on an act of innocents she had perfected over the years in her job, and acted a little offended. Secretly she was putting together her plan that she had created as the woman had been speaking. Quickly her endless years of experience came in handy; she used her experience to put her plan to action but be completely undetectable to any one except those of wind who too used the techniques. Her first action was to drain her companion’s fuel for her gift; with out oxygen… you can’t have fire. Jinx sucked all the oxygen from around the woman; all except a thin stream that allowed her to breathe and make everything seem natural seeing as she couldn’t see the oxygen leaving from around her. Then making her own stream of oxygen small so as to not let any of it give to the woman. Now that she had made the woman unable to attack her she had to put up a defense just incase her physical abilities were good. The gathered oxygen and selected elements Jinx chose from the wind were sent out on their own special mission under her power. She had sent the wind to the surface of the earth a distance from them and made the seep down into the soil. From there she made it collect under the woman’s feet. The collection turned into a ragging storm under her feet; but being the storm was turning solid it didn’t shake the earth or anything at all. The storm was completely undetectable. Should at any moment Jinx feel the woman has crossed the line she would send the storm raging up from under the woman’s feet at blinding speed and the storm would tear the skin from her bones. Unless she was her god who was the only one capable of traveling faster then the winds she wouldn’t even get close to harming her. Her death would be unable to be determined to anyone except Jinx. She had now not to worry about the woman imprisoning her, but she wouldn’t let her guard fail. From now on she would keep up this stance until they reached the city.
Now it was time to try to make it so no blood would be shed today.
“How can you accuse me of lying? I harbor no ill intention, (-yet, if this nation proves as enemies-). As for more information about myself… I will tell you what is necessary and nothing more. We are just mere traveling companions. I have given you no reason to need to know more about me… none at all unless you wish to reconsider out relationship. Other than that any woman has a right to privacy.”
Jinx’s act perfect; not even the coldest or strongest warriors could she past it. But never the less, should any reason in Jinx’s mind arise that the woman should bring a reason for her to even think she was thinking ill toward her she would eliminate her before she could even take a breath into her lungs. And Jinx didn’t have to worry much about her attacking her quickly with out her knowing; she wouldn’t let the woman close to her, she wouldn’t take her eyes off her; and she wouldn’t let her get enough oxygen to attack her from far away. Jinx had in her minds eye the situation under control, but she wouldn’t allow her to drop her awareness. As she had gathered her plans, talked, and slowly, and unnoticeably, move far away enough to make her a good length away from her reach.
-I won’t let this woman jeopardize my mission!-

"Lady Keria, I am very sorry for the intrusion of your privacy but I felt it was necessary to understand. I have lived on claimed lands for all my years. The unclaimed territory is paid little attention to, for the Kingdom of fire does not have direct jurisdiction over those villages and we do not learn much about them. I thought you from nearby, certainly if you found your way this far you should not need my guidance any longer...but I fear with your response I have no choice but to believe you." She looked at the woman with her burning orange eyes and then sighed heavily and turned away. "I am very sorry for my actions, but you must understand that I do not carry them out to be hostile. I do it only for our safety. The creatures our here can sense more than you or I put together, tricks cannot be pulled my Lady, it is just not wise." Her eyebrows rose a bit with her expression and she decided not to press on the facts, she felt this woman would never understand her intensions. She looked back at the woman and noticed she had stepped away. But Why, If Keria is telling the truth why does she shrink away like this? There is no reason....is she afraid of me? I will not harm her, I have no reason to, even though she may not be telling the truth I will no longer press her, there is no use, for she will not even tell me for her own safety. When we reach Feuer-Bohrung they will know, they will ask of her brother's name at the gates and they will check their roles for him...if she cannot provide truth at the gates of Fire I do not know what will become of us... Storm shook her head a little and then stepped forward, sat on the ground, pulled the stray blond and orange hair out of her face and started to pile kindling for a fire. She motioned for Keria to sit if she desired with a flick of her wrist and placed her hands on the small sticks and grasses. Tattoos glowing, rubies shinning, the fire lit, strong and bright. Turning to the dune she noticed the wind had calmed a little and darkness had settled in. "We should make it to the city gates by tomorrow night. There is high security their and we need to watch our actions. I am just telling you so you know." Storm then set her glance on the fire and sat in silence.

“There is high security their and we need to watch our actions.”
The woman was right. Jinx had over looked this small detail. Yet, how ever small it was it still affected Jinx and her plans a lot. Should Jinx and her partner enter the city together the traditional way she will be picked out by their security. Jinx could only opt to two different ideas. One, she could try to leave the woman, meaning out run the woman on her home field which was unlikely. Jinx would be lucky to find her own way out of here on her own. Two, she could get the woman to get her in with out her really knowing what she did. She would get her in the city as a prisoner and from there she could try to escape the authorities. Sure Jinx had escaped the fire fortress once before, but they might have become better with securing prisoners. Too bad Jinx didn’t acknowledge that; she went with plan two.
Jinx rose from the position she was in and next to alert the woman she was not of fire to make her take her prisoner. She raised her hands and released the energy she had built up (not onto the woman, but all around). It was evident that the power had some from her making there be no chance she was of fire. Allowing her power out like that would give her all the time from now until she escaped to recharge in her power. Sure she could get that strong, but as she hated to say she couldn’t hold any of that power for longer than a few hours. With the amount of power she had used she had virtually none left now. It would be easy for the woman to take her over. Jinx put the final part of her plan in action and ran away from the woman in the direction they were heading.
-This plan is good. She’ll get mention for bringing in a prisoner like me and I’ll get into the city easier. Let’s just hope she doesn’t try to burn the skin off my back.-
o.o.c.- sorry it's short... lost my chain of thought in the middle of writting it.

This is perfect!
The thought in his head screamed out in excitement.
How could this have worked out any better for me?
Xander Shade could not believe this woman, an obvious intruder, would give up her identity so quickly, so easily after all her lying and attempted manipulation of the fire blessed woman. Hunter of Shadows was able to tell she was some spy under the wind nation’s chaotic rule. He knew there was virtually no organization nor control in wind because Goddess Airos’ choice had not yet surfaced.
Shade of shadows had been watching the two for some time now from his dark hole and could deduce who she was from the final show of power. The twisting of her ankle, the sense that both women were of one power, and village which did not permit females to hone their powers: all clues and cover-ups to the fact she is not of fire. This ‘Jinx’ wanted to go to fire, but for what purpose Xander knew not. He desired to know. Xander Shade was a man with an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. Knowledge was power in his unwritten book of codes. Another benefit of his lust was the uncertain opportunity for blood, proving him a merciless being of night.
Suddenly the woman revealed the extent of her power and fled. She wished to be captured; the man could tell and would be happy to oblige. Why else would she give up her guise, exhaust her power, and run from an otherwise peaceful companion. Immediately, Xander leapt from his shadowy alcove to alight one foot on Storm’s shoulder with nearly weightless silence and pushed off from the fire woman. The brief moment of contact allowed the trickster to copy, not steal, a bit of her power. As he left her he whispered a quick thank you for Storm alone to hear and sped after the powerless wind.
Swiftly, as he flew over the earth almost exactly parallel with it, Shade pulled three steel throwing needles approximately 5 millimeters in diameter and 20 centimeters in length. With intense speed, the trained weapon-for-hire threw the needles simultaneously. One aimed for a pressure point in her neck to knock the woman out painlessly while the others pursued the backs of both knees to bring her to the ground a bit softer. The metal traveled virtually invisible due to their speed and sleek design.
And so after he let loose his fangs, he watched to see her fall.

All Jinx knew was that she was running trying to run from the woman, but at a speed the woman could have caught her at. With her feet hitting the ground hard and her breath short and ragged from pretending her fake running. She turned her head back to look at the woman once or twice really quick not sure if she even saw her or not. In the middle of running the sense of dread captured her. Just as she was about to duck down and check back on the woman when a small pinch in her skin. Within five seconds her brain shut down as the same pain hit the back of her knees. Everything went black in her eye sight. Her body slowly fell to its knees and then down on her trunk.
(Her dream) The dark deserted road between the buildings whipped past a woman as she ran for her life from something. Her breathing was hard and raspy as her bear feet hit the ground. Her right foot landed funnily in a hole and caused her to fall. Her arms reached out to catch herself, but it was useless; she hit hard and hurt her elbows. She didn’t even stop to notice. She got up from her fall; mud covering her ripped shirt and naked bottom. She began to run again as fast as possible in the other direction. Her eyes were clouded with tears that she didn’t see that she was about to run right into a big dark cloaked figure in front of her. As she did she started to fall back ward. But the cloaked figures arm fly out and caught her. She tried to push away from him as he pulled her closer but it was no use. She ended up giving up and seceding to his will. He finally pulled her into him and tossed her head to the left. “Ha… ha…ha…… all you girls end up giving me what I want…” he lowered his lips to her next and started to suck on her skin. There was a brief and small cry from the woman, but it was soon silenced and her body went limp. The figure raised his head and only the white teeth covered in blood was visible in the darkness. “… and what I want is your life…” the figure then threw the body over his shoulder and started on its way toward its home.
Jinx’s dream had startled her and woke her briefly, but she couldn’t move or see out of her eyes. She had no idea how long she had been out, but it had seemed like a long time, for her body ached. Who ever had doen this to her would pay for it.

It all happened so fast. Flashing before Storms' eyes as a vision of sheer excitement or extreme terror. She could not make sense of everything that was taking place in front of her, only mere seconds lasting for what seemed like minutes. Keria, the woman she had tested turned out to be the liar she had thought of, Blasting her wind powers out into the surrounding atmosphere, then turning to run into the barren waste. A woman of wind! Storm thought, If she desires to run from me now so be it. I will chase her or not, maybe she will be better off roting in the waste. She crossed her arms, standing like a mother would over a child who was being disruptive. I think I will let her run for a while, the beasts of the dunes would surly have fun with her.
Then the winds began to stir, picking her blond-orange hair up around her face as she watched Keria run. Ready to turn away she felt something brush against her shoulder, a mans foot! She stood with wide orange eyes peering up at the man who was using her for a push of point. What is he? Storm thought frantically as a soft "Thank you" sounded across her ears. Why does he appear to be after Keria, she has done nothing to upset Kaji, at least not that I know of. Feeling no pain or any kick back from him leaving her shoulder Storm still fell backward into the sand, landing in an awkward sitting position, legs folded underneath her, still watching the action with her frightfully bright orange eyes. Her white dress covered in dust and sand, she placed her palms against the earth ready to ignite the elements captured within the topsoil if she needed to protect herself, but still this man who pursued Keria seemed to be no harm to her. Suddenly a strange weapon caught Storm's eye. Throwing needles large ones, not used much in any realm as far as she could remember. They darted in the direction of Keria obviously meant to bring her down face first into the dirt. Why is this man so interested in capturing this insignificant woman, or maybe she is not as insignificant as she may appear...The needles hit their intended target and she watched the helpless Keria tumble toward the earth...Storm let out a frightfully loud "NO!" Her mind raced as she stood up quickly and focused on Keria's perpetrator.
" You can not have this woman, she is my prisoner and she is meant for the Fire Lord Kaji Hito. Do NOT lay a hand on her!" She stomped forward with a scowl on her face not sure if she should be thankful toward the man or not. Brushing off her white dress and pushing her hair off of her sweaty forehead she approached the unconscious Keria to tie her up and continue on her way, she wished to pay no attention toward the man who had made capturing her prisoner easier, but maybe his intentions were in her favor...

The thrill of the hunt had gone however the adrenaline remained to be disbanded as he landed softly upon the dirt around the wind woman’s unconscious form. Man of night and shadow placed all focus on her figure while he ran scenarios and plans for the future through his head. Keeping empty, nearly emotionless eyes on the victim, Xander thought now only of his prize and the fun he could have placing her in play causing perhaps more chaos in Algaesian politics or battles. Cocky, confident, and maybe even a bit evil, a smirk crossed his sculpted face accompanied by a glint in his eyes when a voice from behind interrupted him.
Slightly he turned to peer over his left shoulder at the light-colored haired woman who stood behind him seemingly frustrated with the whole situation. What does she care? This woman is a prisoner anyway and for all she knows, I belong to fire. Ha! That’s a laugh. He turned while pulling thin, yet very strong rope from another tiny pouch strapped to his powerful leg. Very confidently he moved himself distinctly between Storm and his victim.
Bending down upon one knee, Xander ignored the fire lady’s objection to his capture. He rolled his victim around tying her wrists behind her back and her ankles together. The assassin finished his binding by intertwining rope around her waist holding her fair arms by her side. Again he reached into the small, useful pouch but this time retrieved a small bottle. The merciless man popped the cork and waved the substance under her nose. Xander had not intentions on allowing ‘Keria’ to awaken during his journey back so he allowed her to breath the fumes steadily into her body and thereby into her blood. It was a potent anesthetic meant to shut down most functions of the body and slow down the vital ones. Finished preparing Jinx of the wind for traverse, the tall man turned his attention back to Storm... perhaps to teach her... a lesson.
I cannot allow you to take this intruder to fire. It is hard for me to believe you are so blind as to not see that is where she wants to go. I can tell you are very observant so I won’t lie to you. Xander spoke in a deep baritone voice with a serious yet cocky twist. He paused before continuing, You would be playing right into her hands. The last statement had more of a sting to it than taunt.
Xander stared her down fro a bit before pulling the limp body over his shoulder. His right arm held her in position. The black tattoo showed however the night masked its precise appearance. He did not turn back to look upon Storm’s face.
You have to wonder what she was planning for your Lord if she wanted in with fire’s military and you... I have to wonder...
He turned once again over his left shoulder and with a glint in his silver eyes, a smirk on his slender face and true taunt in his voice he finished his speech to the young fiery woman.
... were you planning on using her as a bribe.
The statement was meant to provoke thought, anger, and perhaps a small fight. Xander was just that type of guy, all attitude, all fight, all play, all confidence.
To prove he was not afraid of her, the weapon-for-hire turned fully forward to face her response to his observations and accusations.
ooc: not really sure of the colors for the speaking especially... will be playing with those til I find the right ones... ;D
[whisper=hellsdaughter]ooc: Xander doesn't... he was just calling her a jinx... besides... it may have been a slip by me... as for the ankle thing... before you and Storm stopped you told her your ankle twists while Jinx sleeps so she could keep Storm's power masking her own... you're not mean... just curious... hehe[/whisper]

Storms irritation was now visible in the stiffness of her limbs. It was her eyes that gave her away naturally though, now starting to shine with a red sheen. He apparently did not hear what I said, she thought sarcastically knowing full well that he was ignoring her for spite. He bent down to tie up his prize, the prisoner meant for the observer, and then drugged her with a weird substance unknown to Storm. This man is obviously well trained...a lunatic none the less, a bit murderous as well...she smiled lightly and took a step forward. Then he spoke, she listened intently and then her smiled faded into a scowl...and cocky...Her eyes returned to their deep color again while he hoisted Keria onto his shoulders, as he did this she noticed a picturesque tattoo but could not make out its detailing for the darkness was too overbearing.
Her irritation now peaked as he began to speak again...Well, he doesn't even know if she was planning anything either, what makes my judgment more pathetic than his own? I wonder what HE is planning, this tough lunatic hostage stealer! He has no right to come out of no where and take my gift to the Fire Lord!...when he finished his last sentence the words cut through Storm like a knife... "were you planning on using her as a bribe?" HOW DARE HE! He turned to face her, and she took advantage of it...Her anger consumed her and she marched forward to do what any woman would do to a man who had just insulted her. Her steps light and quick she approached the man without much sound. Storm was now close enough to him but not too close, about an arms length apart. She pulled her left arm back, eyes bright and rubies glowing, and smacked him across his face. A swift heat emanated from her hand enough to burn his jaw line up to the lower ear. That should leave a pretty scar... "I was NOT using her as a bribe, I was actually going to let her die in the Waste until you came along. How comes you were watching us in the middle of this deserted place, If YOU want her, she MUST be important to you, and I want to know why. You are curious and I am as well...about you." She said it bluntly and as cocky as he had made his entry. Storm kept her weapon upon her finger tips in case he was to grab her, he would surly get burned and not live to tell of it. She matched her orange gaze with his silver stare and waited for his next verbal or physical assult...

The man stared shocked into the darkness to his left as is that is the direction her intended blow forced his head to turn. Eyes wide with the energy of the searing pain pressed upon his face, Xander merely stood for a moment contemplating, perhaps not the smartest plan but maybe the cleverest of responses. Blinking, he brought himself back into full consciousness and turned to face the impulsive woman again to allow her the opportunity to see the pretty little mark and her work, maybe for the first and last time... his future plans did not assume that particular fact however; she would live, he could see her again.
I don’t think you know what you’re getting yourself into, girl. Again, his words resonated with warning and taunt. She was not the intended target and she could be of some use in the future so he did not desire to kill her. Teach her was a prospective thought, but not at the current time. He needed to put this limp woman into play in order for his chaos to cause its destined havoc.
His serious tone dissipated into the night as a newly rejuvenated smirk appeared. This is the grandest thrill. She possesses such fire in her spirit. Her eyes, her hands... such fire! Silver eyes gazed straight at her. Excitement took hold. You are just so full of fire. The passion alone would burn this forest if it hadn’t been already. His body shook subtly with the new found adrenaline until suddenly composure settled quickly back in.
In a flash, his slender body shifted and his left arm rose to her cheek. With the back of his fingers, he brushed her smooth flesh briefly before turning his palm to face this flesh. Holding his hand but a centimeter or two away, he drew from his arsenal of collected powers. Carefully he allowed a portion of Storm’s copied powers, heat, to emanate from his hand, however the time was quick. Xander allowed her to feel the heat but did not need her recognizing her own powers; therefore the time had to be quick and intertwined with another fire mage’s magic collected in the past. He breathed deeply before opening his mouth and brought his head down to look directly into her eyes.
Then again... so could I. The manly voice fell deeper in pitch as his silver eyes became cold, knowing, and seriously hard. The trained man was in no way lying. He pulled his calloused hand away. Don’t underestimate me; I’m sure we will meet again. Again he smirked, but his time he turned to leave. Raising his left arm, he gave a benevolent sign of parting. We will meet again, Storm, and I look forward to it. His voice did not stutter; he was positive their paths would cross once more. Xander would make sure of that himself.
Walking casually away into the night, Xander desired to gain enough distance between him and the fire woman. He did not wish for his inherited power in the shadows to be revealed so soon to others of the world. The assassin waited for the cover of shadow and shade to hide his escape. But the time for his exit, has yet to come.

The man frightened Storm a small amount, but she stood her ground as he brought his face back to its original position. The blow to his face left its' intended mark and she smiled crookedly despite herself. Her arms once again crossed and she stood with eyebrow raised waiting for him to respond, wishing for a change in his cocky tone, but her wish did not come true. Her slap did not change what she desired. His repulsive attitude brought a red hough to her cheeks and her eyes became a glassy pink-orange.Was her attitude any different than his own? "If I am a girl, than you are nothing but a boy, who should consider his own words." She said venomously and her fingers tapped against her own flesh with annoyance. She scowled and wished she could light his hair on fire, but let a scoff escape at the thought. Why waist my time?
Storm stared him down as he stood, finally meeting his silver, cold eyes. The next words that he spit from his mouth surprised her, and she could not help but smile. A compliment from "Mr. Cocky!" But quickly her smile faded to a stare of complete concentration, he had meant every word that came out of his trashy mouth and the sudden shock hit her and she almost fainted. His left hand now rose to touch her skin, his hand caressed her cheek a moment and then held suspended a small distance from her face. She felt a deep warmth emanating from his hand and she closed her eyes to accept the strange feeling. Storm was confused. Fear and pleasure crashed helplessly around in her head, and she so desperately wanted to tear away and punch him in the eye, but a deeper part of her wished for more. She opened her eyes and peered into his silver ones, she felt like she had been doused by a bucket of ice water and realized she was trembling, trying to steady herself, his words provided no comfort as usual. His only vocabulary must consist of taunts and gibes. She wished to slap him again but contained herself. Feelings hurt, she stepped away with flushed cheeks and looked at him as coldly as his eyes expressed. Storm did not underestimate him, she had seen him work in capturing Keria, and she was glad she would not see the end of his task, at least not yet.
"We will meet again, Storm, and I look forward to it."
He turned to make his exit, and apart of her was glad for it...but yet, she smiled a sheepish grin and responded to his, for once, acceptable gesture of parting....
"As do I, " she blurted by accident, "If I may ask, my outspoken acquaintance, by whom do you call yourself?" She asked with a hint of flirtatious taunt, "for I know you already acquired mine..." Her question reverberated in the accelerating wind. A swift sense of foreboding gripped her as she watched the man attempting to disappear into the night.

As the killer unknown strode into the darkness of the wasteland, silver eyes adjusted to the lack of light once again after seeing a campfire for some time. He felt he needed to leave, almost escape into the night in order to complete his mission. However just as he was going to disappear, something stopped him momentarily – a taunting voice from behind once again asking for his name. He then decided he will tell her sometime, but for now he would leave her with something to remember him by.
Slowly, he laid the unconscious woman who he had been carrying on his right shoulder down upon the barren land. As he turned, the wind blew violently at his loose clothes. A sly smirk crept across his fairly elongated face and with a raised of a slender eyebrow, his visage created an almost forbidden allure. Xander approached the fiery woman whom he had described with a passion casually yet with hasty respect.
Soon his tall form came within inches of her beautiful figure. Without hesitation, his hands worked to pull her closer – left wrapping around the small of her back, right followed her tender jaw line to her bottom lip while gently guiding her face to his. Once this done, Xander stole something he had never even aimed to steel before her, a kiss. His lips closed the distance in the night as his silver eyes romantically closed partially. Contact.
Pulling away, his silver eyes opened to glisten magically in the moonlight. The tip of his tongue peeked out his mouth to moisten his dry lips caused by the dry climate. Xander drew in a deep breathe before his lips parted again, this time to speak.
As for my name, he began with a tone of flirtatious fun to counteract her previous variation in voice, I will tell you soon enough. Not now however. My current job involving ‘Keira’ forbids it. I do, though, promise to be the one to tell you.
The slender man dressed in black darker than the night caressed her fair cheek once more before he backed away slightly to look down upon her beautiful face with admiring eyes. Gripping her shoulders firmly, Xander leaned down to gaze directly into her eyes; he spoke again, but this time with gentle kindness.
Passion. Keep it. It will help you thrive. For after all, a storm without its fiery passion is nothing more than a breeze. By the way, I like your name and don’t fret. You’ll know mine... in time.
He chuckled and smiled like the kid he sometimes proved himself to be at the thought of seeing her spirited eyes again. Xander watched her reaction to his impulsive move for a moment. The man lifted his head topped with black hair but did not retreat from her.
I like this girl’s spirit.

Cane had a different agenda then most. Many of those who lived about this warring world looked for purpose or had some past that immobilized their evolution into something greater. So how would someone respond if they knew that Cane had no past he was trying to escape? He had no regrets and he had no remorse. He was enjoying this new sense of inteliigence that was slowly beginning to grow within his otherwise beastly brain. He was even learning to speak--as difficult as it was. A pleasant rumble grew within all three of his throats as he acknowledged this beauty of adaptation. He had the power and the strength to best most and many in a physical fight, and he had the resiliance to bounce back from any pain or wound inflicted. He was unstoppable when he placed a purpose in his mind, but mostly he lived for the moment. There was nothing he was fighting for but survival. Survival of the fittest. That was how he lived up here among the frail and over-intelligents.
He shrugged, he would get there. His mental capacity could only grow... and he was finding out that he was a quick learner when he wished to be and put his mind to it.
The wastelands were more than enough to satisfy his black lumbering hulk. His body had rejuvenated itself into the city and he was full of new life and vigor -- strength that he had not felt since the new moon. The curse was abated from his body and he was free of it until the next cycle arrived. But oh... how much was he enjoying the unmarred hide that covered his body? How much did he croon his pleasures at seeing the absence of blood? Greatly. Immensely. Without end.
Tonight was a good night.
However, in the blink of an eye he found himself not so amused or pleasant. Pumus and brimestone mangled and destroyed most strong scents, but the wasteland was a scent of its own, and the experienced canine nose easily brushed it aside to gather in... that glorious mixture... He'd gone from the city -- though he was hungry he wasn't looking for prey -- and here it was already. The scent of aprehension, the acrid stench of sweat, and the sweet copper taste of blood.
The Left grumbled hungrily, the Right whined excitably, and the Middle...
it contemplated the facts. Cane knew the area was barren, and it was not often that life would choose to live so openly upon it. And the combination of those three impressionable smells left the large canine salivating in all three heads. Excitement and adrenaline began to brew within his blood, but he attempted to calm it. The Left didn't want anything to do with this sense of rationality, but the Right was able to be convinced and through the combined efforts of Middle and Right the Left quieted with a discontented grumble.
Unmared, beautiful black and grey specked coat blended within the smoky charred atmosphere of the barren wasteland. The dark night descended heavily upon the area, and though the dog's eyes could see better than most... he still did not aprove of the utter blankness and unseen dangers. The Middle gave out the option to avoid the trouble and move elswhere.
Yes... we are learning. We are learning well. The Middle chimed aprovingly at it's own show of intellect.
But the Left would hear none of it. In its bestial tone it chimed forcefully--in such a way that Cane's body quickened its pace towards the source of the scent, No! Fight. Blood. Fight. Kill. Fight. Food. Hunger. FIGHT!
The Middle pondered the savagery and almost seemed to waver and lean towards the illrational option, but the Right reminded.
Shakily it whimpered it's own thoughts of action, ... b... but... Pain? Hurt? New skin. Feels good. Must us fight? T... though... food? Sound good too? Fight? Excitement? Me still remembers the excitement.
The complete struggle of the Left and the Middle, and the indescisiveness of the Right, left poor Cane in a stumbling ramble. The Right whined fitfully as the left snarled, and the the Middle growled. Such a pain was growing inside their skulls... such a headache from so much unneeded reason.
HEad's set back, Cane reunited itself and unleashed a howling chorus into the night sky. Three different tones, one monster -- the woeful and hungry cry was enough to shatter the heavens. One tone was vengeful, the other thoughtful, and the last confused. All of them were mingling together in such a fitful melody that when the song ended. Sanity wasn't an option. Adrenaline and Excitement were up to a feverish pitch and Cane immediately threw himself into the smog. Fire briefly illuminated his gaze as phosphorous candle lighted his path and random intervals. His increasing heart rate, brought a soft lather to his chest and shoulder, and the saliva slowly foamed faintly about his seething jaws.
His lumbering weight crashed through anything underfoot and anything in his path. Fire seethed in his heart and lungs and he pressed on, gaining speed as his hunger grew. But it was not a starving hunger, but a lustful hunger. It was an old habit that acted up from time to time. He was a lumbering beast, and he probably always would be to some extent until someone figured out how to channel that hatred, and conditioned malice. Until then, Cane was unpredictable.
Finaly his flight needed an end, and an end it gave. His mind saw not friend nor foe, but only that which was placed before him. And so, as he came upon the three "companions" he leapt for that which first stood out in his mind. The one, whom all three cerberus heads acknowledged first. Three pairs of strong, sturdy jaws lined with rows of dull angular fangs reached for life so as to smite it.
Xander was firmly in their minds.

The mysterious man moved away from her separated by a distance of dust and wind. Storm kept her eyes on him feeling pains of both fear and great excitement. Intrigued by what his forth coming response would be she stood frozen in the nothingness of the waste letting her mind wander in her current situation. She pulled her attention back only to see him walking toward her...without the woman "Keria". He was smiling, almost frightful but attracting as well, rapidly approaching her. For once in her life she was afraid, her face drained of its lively coloring and she stood contemplating her flight in the other direction.
I could run, but at his speed he would catch me and I am not going to have him do to me what was done to Keria. Either way I choose, I am doomed. I must stay and fight. If he attacks me he will die.She took a closer look at his advancing figure, still pale and wide eyed.
He does not appear to want to harm me. He almost looks handsome...She smirked quickly and felt his arms wrap around her. She looked at him now, still discolored but her fear subsiding. His right hand touched her face and she leaned into his gentle touch... But Why? Her mind panicked. Her face came within inches of his and she let passion lead her from there. Storm brought her arms up around his neck and held a firm grip upon his back. Closing her eyes she leaned into him and her lips met his. Her powers inside her, excited, emptied a calming warmth from her entire body, then she pulled away gently but the warmth emanating from within her stayed, her cheeks turned a soft red and her eyes returned his shining gaze.
He began to speak again and she thought...Please do not let anything insulting or horrible flow from your lips or....her temper flared but what amazed her came next. His heartfelt advice and boyish smile brought a grin to her face and she decided it would be worth the wait for his name, right now his name did not matter. Still he had scared her to death and then kissed her. But why did he scare her so?? She swung at him again, this time across his cheek bone. "Don't you ever make me think you are going to kill me ever again..." She said it with an exasperated breath, then she let out a childish giggle for her own stupidity. Looking at him she hoped he was not angry with her, her slap was more a reaction she could not put into words. Storm went to reach for his standing figure once more but her arms drooped heavily down to her sides...
A noise so frightful and ear splitting echoed through the waste, the remaining color left in Storm's face drained quickly and she felt horrible, all warmth died. What was in the distance? What else could be out there? She looked franticly at the man whom she wanted and then behind him. Her eyes so wide and full of terror as to have seen the gates of hell itself. A canine of the most stupendous proportions.
An ear splitting scream escaped her lips, a sound she never knew could come from her, a frighted woman......
Her sheer terror lasted but her will to fight broke through her fear. Storm slammed into the man she was alongside with extreme force throwing them both into the dust and dirt of the waste. On her hands and knees she took her place in front of her male companion and began to empty her power into the soil beneath her. A towering wall of fire built up around the couple to protect them from the advancing beast and sweat poured from Storm's brow. This would give them enough time to plan an escape or enough time to say goodbye to each other. She looked back at the man with her glowing orange eyes and peered into his silver pools..."Run...."

Valyke continued to trudge across the vast, fiery land until shock filtered through his body. He felt a cool touch to his skin, a feminine, alluring touch. Her giggle reached his ears, and a shiver shot up his spine when Lunlie’s voice cut through the air. He did not respond to her enchanting voice. Valyke was too busy containing his desire, not to mention his excitement.
Valyke squirmed his side underneath her fingers as Lunlie drew circles, caressing his skin. But through all of this temptation she was bestowing on him, Valyke continued to walk. Valyke smiled as he reached the foot of the dune. He was about to scale it with Lunlie still over his shoulder, but as he took a step forward, Valyke was frozen. His fiery amber eyes went wide with shock.
The touch of her tongue against his skin seeped through him. Valyke snapped out of it and looked back at her with a smirk. His hand reached back and grabbed her feminine wrist. Valyke shrugged his shoulder forcing her to fall in his arms face up. He caught her back, and supported Lunlie’s head, but he let her legs catch the ground gently. He hovered over her looking deeply into her eyes.
“Nope…not yet.”
Valyke leaned down and closed the distance between their lips. His mouth was pressed against hers. As he kissed Lunlie gently, yet passionately, Valyke slowly laid Lunlie down on the ground. His arms were under her, he loved the warm. Valyke slowly pulled his arms out from under and placed them on the ground, still continuing to kiss. When she was fully on the ground, Valyke slowly stood up straight, breaking their first kiss. He looked down at her and smiled playfully, and whispered in a handsome voice.
“Now I am.”
Valyke quickly turned around towards the dune and ran up it, not turning back to see if Lunlie was coming, not hesitantly, not waiting for her. When he finally got to the top, Valyke gazed upon two people. His heart raced with excitement. He couldn’t believe there was someone else was here in this horrible environment. Valyke narrowed his eyes and smiled at the sight of two supposed lovers. Valyke smiled warmly because of the kissing scene he had just witnessed. It reminded him of his first true love…no it was not Lunlie. He tuned his body towards Lunlie and he called out to her in an excited tone.
“Hey Kit! Look!”
He turned back towards the two silhouettes but kept his head curved towards Lunlie. His eyes, though, were laid on the strangers.
“I told you I sensed something!”
Valyke motioned to Lunlie with his arm.
“C’mon!”
He jumped down from the top of the dune and positioned his body to keep balance as he surfed down the opposite side of Lunlie. His feet hit the bottom, but Valyke was thrown on his knees from the frightful song that had just pierced his ears. His amber eyes were open with shock, in horror. The hands that were placed on the vast land were shaking. His eyes wavered and his heart quickened.
What…what was that? Gaining control, Valyke stood up and looked ahead to see nothing but pure evil in his sights. The beast was an opening to hell.
No…it came from hell.
“It’s the pet of Hades.”
The thought of his companion, Lunlie, completely escaped his mind. The only thought traveling his mind was fighting for survival. A strong aura of fire caught Valyke’s attention. He turned to see the women and the man behind a strong wall of fire. That was the same aura he had sensed before. Valyke turned heel to the couple protected by the barrier. As he ran, Valyke prepared for a battle by placing his hand by the hilt of his faithful sword.
His legs sprinted, but his eyes stayed glued to the beast that already seemed to have a target in mind. His muscles were straining as he ran because of the many days he was just wandering around.
For a split second, Valyke moved his amber eyes off the three headed monster to catch a glimpse of a young lady unconsciously lying on the ground. He was only a few feet away from the other travelers when he stopped dead. He pointed to the girl lying and called out to them.
“What about her?!”

Thrown over his shoulder and into his arms Lunlie didn’t even hear his voice before he let his lips touch hers. If he had been looking he would see her cheeks bright red, but also a look of being lost. Lunlie had never felt this sort of… this sort of… she really didn’t have a feeling for it. What she did no though was that she enjoyed it. As Valyke slowly laid her down on the ground she had been unable to even sense it due to the kiss knocking away her senses. When he ran off in the other direction, he left Lunlie feeling alone and discarded.
“Hey Kit! Look!” He turned to look at Lunlie but his head never left what he was looking for. “I told you I sensed something!” Valyke motioned to Lunlie with his arm. “C’mon!”
Lunlie had an empty feeling now welling in her stomach. He seemed way too interested in the life forms beyond. Lunlie had just started to think that she might have a friend… possibly one that would have been really close. She let her head start to think, trying to find any reason that this wasn’t what it had seemed to her. -He could just really badly want to get out of here. -My mind might be making this more than it is. -This was all a lie and he only wanted me to get to these beings. -He could…
Her thoughts were cut off by the soul shaking noise some beast must have made near by. If anything could, this got Lunlie up and thinking. She grabbed herself and all her laying out thoughts about anything and put them toward one thing. Fight. It was what her father had brought her up for, it was what her specialty was, it was every fiber in her body… and no matter how much she wanted to turn back and try to take Valyke and run it wasn’t in her cards. He had shown her that by him running into the fight. Only one tear was quickly shed and then her body took movement.
With lightening speed her body changed to the fire fox she had met Valyke as. The only change this time was her body wasn’t as small. It had become at lest twice it’s size. Not taking a moment of thought, she ran up toward the sun’s last rays as it started to set over the dunes far off. With the speed given to her fox body she reached her goal within seconds. Lunlie slowed she speed before she looked down from the high dune; she still had yet to see what was taking place below. As she reached the top of the dune she saw everything; Valyke running toward the beast that had made the unearth like noise, the man and woman running from the beast, and a woman’s body laying for dead on the ground.
“What about her?!”
She had heard the noise leave his lips. He had already moved to his first thoughts on them. Lunlie had been right. –Oh well, life has always been full of disappointments. The best I can do is try to spear their lives.- Without hesitation she fluffed out her fur and chest making her look like a wild beast capable of anything. Then raised her head high in the air and made her own evil noise. Hers wasn’t nearly as low or demon like as the beast below… no it was ear splitting high with all the pain from her life put into it. This cry out into the void below and the evil beast like look the sun gave Lunlie from the setting sun behind her, might just accomplish her goal. Her goal was to catching the beast attention. If he caught his attention, knowing it was male from it’s sent, maybe she could detour it away from them. She hadn’t a clue as to how to do that yet, but if she could it wouldn’t matter what had happened to her, her soul was dead already. Now it was up to the beast to see if it would take the sad death wish of the beast she knew she was.

ooc: I'm guessing everyone's done joining us... hope this is worth the wait ;D
As he held her in his arms, he could not describe the feeling her emanating warmth gave him. Safety, belonging, hope... everything. The assassin’s mind did not understand and not knowing baffled Shade all the more. He hated being confused however for some odd reason this confusion this Storm caused provided a feeling indescribable for Xander; he only knew he enjoyed it greatly. Her following smile brought genuine satisfaction to his silver eyes. Gazing into her fiery orbs, the man noticed not the second strike to come. Now that one hurt! It landed partly upon the previous landing where the burn lay to cause him momentary pain. Yet Shade found simple and twisted pleasure from her now teasing slap. Once again, he stared off into the space of night sifting through the emotions just as he had done in the recent past. Xander Shade turned back to her with the same juvenile, almost longing, smile upon his face when a yowl from the pits of black torture cut through the tranquility set by the night and the small crackling campfire sitting off to the side, basically forgotten by all.
He watched as Storm’s fiery eyes filled terror and gazed past his ear. The man turned his fine torso in an attempt to discern the source however was able to only catch the sight of a lumbering silhouette in the night. His eyes adjusted to the lack of light for him suddenly to be pulled into the dust. Extreme power provided by feminine hands and fear knocked the surprised killer to the ground. For a moment, Xander watched this fighter of a woman as she burned her surroundings creating a flaming barrier. Rolling, Shade found a lying position from which he searched through fire to see the face of... a puppet of evil, he thought slyly to himself. After all, I am the face of the truly malicious evil. All of the few who knew him knew he was a cocky bastard but none knew the truth of his being. He had already mercilessly killed the ones who knew.
Quickly, he shifted his body to a launching position on his toes and knee and his foot with his hands bracing his form in a forward position aimed at the lunging beast. With his head parallel with Storm’s and with certain haste, Xander spoke into her left ear. He did not notice her directed gaze into his eyes due to his focus on the obstacle now in front of him.
Work your way back to Keria. Keep your barrier up as long as you can.
Crouching down closer to the ground, tightening the ‘springs’ in his legs, his trained presence prepared to take off after their present opponent. Then, a release. Surprising even to the killer himself, the man whispered one last piece of advice in her delicate ear simultaneous with his launch.
Be careful.
Swiftly he glided through the air separating Storm’s barrier and the three-headed canine. Twisting his body in midair, Xander made it so he would easily land upon the beast’s back. Xander Shade alighted softly on top the creature’s back. Soon the ‘hunted’ became the... ‘player’. Inching his way to the beast’s muscular neck, the strong man’s hand found the backs of each set of ears. He moved from one head to the next and the next giving each an equal share of his attention. Meanwhile, his boyish smile returned and his voice shifted to a playful tone and he spoke to the beast like it was his loveable, loyal pet... of evil.
That’s a good boy. You’re a very good boy. Yes.
Silver eyes looked up for the moment while his hands continued to rub behind is ears and along his neck. Instantly he noticed two new figures lit by the fire barrier – a young man, of fire Xander presumed and a small fire fox behind him.
Perfect, the clever killer whispered to himself. A malicious smirk crossed his face.
Returning all focus upon the beast under him, Xander Shade continued his praising of the animal and playing with his unmarked black and grey coat. The man resumed to speak with the same lighthearted tone.
I’m sure you’re hungry too. Why don’t you calm down and take a look over there behind that man next to my friend with the powerful flame barrier. You see that fox. Imagine the lush tender meat under that fur she has there. You can just smell her delicious blood under all that fluff. The prize, I am sure, would be well worth a fight against her claws. What do you think, my friend?
The trained assassin did not even think if there was a girl in that poor creature’s mind, but did he even care? No. Death did not scare the man born of evil; nor did it persuade him any way in his life path. The demon did that for it.
Immediately after posing his final question for the beast to ponder, Shade of Shadows leaped off his back with slight, almost undetectable force. He landed gracefully in front of Storm’s barrier facing the three-headed canine once again hoping for the response he predicted. Xander figured within every monster rests a creature longing for a place to call home and a being to call friend. This is the primitive emotion the trickster now preyed upon hoping to strike a chord and gain some trust.
Young-looking Xander felt behind him with his marked right arm sensing Storm’s flame. He checked for her power level and her position without looking directly at her form. Then he sensed the young man next to him, however he had not recognized his question of the unconscious woman in the back and out of all action. Unfortunately for the fox though, the killer heard her ear-splitting cry in the night. It was all too sharp for his liking and so he had even less regrets for suggesting to the Cerberus which meal to take. Hope you’re not connected to that fox there. He smiled at the magnitude of genius this current plan reached and the cocky attitude returned to the physical appearance of his face. Xander Shade did not let Cane, a name he had yet to know, escape the perceptive silver eye of the feit.

Cane's large blundering weight suddenly caught a change of advantage as the female, whom he know just noticed, dragged his quarry to the ground and suddenly sprang a fiery barrier around them both. This was highly unfortunate for the leaping cerberus, who was undoubtably within mid stride and mere seconds away from latching onto the life of the unnamed Xander. How could he stop? Well , he did try. All four feet sought the ground as quickly as they could manage, however it was unfortunately only a few burning feet from the seperating inferno. Angrilly and with a yelp of... fear?... Cane scrambled madly to come to a stopping points as all three heads strained away from the blaze. Turning his shoulder just in time, the 2000 lb canine skidding up to the fire. His hide brushed within the burning air and he cried out as he leaped forward and sideways to escape the burn. It was a little too late. Hot red skin welted up as the black hair melted away. Bubbled flesh sizzled for a moment before the blackish red skin settled into loose folds. The skin had died, by tomorrow most of it would flake away and leave Cerberus open to a premature cycle. He spun away from the fire and turned about to face the barrier. Just barely he could make out the figures of the two humanoids. His eyes firmly looked for the man whom he had origionally targetted, but it was difficult to differentiate between the flames who was who.
GRowling, roaring, and snapping his evident rage... Cane snarled as he paced a few meager minutes. He was vaguelly aware of someone approaching, and their scent was far from masked... but they were of little importance to him at the moment. Cane was out for vengence now. He'd learned something new. The Fire... it had caused pain and destroyed his temporary peace. Yes, yes... technically he had brought it upon himself, but Cane wasn't that sophisticated yet.
The Left snarled savagely, the right logged into memory the position of all the players on the field: two behind the fire, one unconscious on the ground, one fast approaching, and a fellow canine soon to follow; and the middle was analysing the scenerio. Logic started to play confusing songs within Cane's heads and he couldn't quell the tune just the same as he could barely control his raging emotions and instincts. Cane was a naturally aggressive animal, his reasoning was slowly evolving, but it was a tedious process and it were situations like these that left the poor confused mutt in a tangle of dissalusion. Snapping all three sets of powerful, box-like jaws, Cane tried to keep his focus. Though he was quickly decided that he would now attack the next easiest target. His blood and heart was yearning for a fight, he wanted to taste blood, but he was far from hungry. Unfortunately for some, this might not be evidently clear, but Cane was not hungry at all for food... but for the simple love and lust to do what he did best.
Kill.
Suddenly, something caught the dog's senses. The man, whom he had placed securely in his mind was flying, but the cerberus could not react quick enough to move before the ignorant fool had found a seat upon his shoulders. Something new flared inside of the three headed beast. Immense anger, and severe memory. The coddling and words came so fast and so suddenly, that the demonic dog could not process all the words. Sure he could understand them if he had time to mull over the sentences, but all he could understand coming from Xander's mouth, was the tone. And the tone seemed insulting.
Anyways, this new emotion added sudden fuel to the beast's aggression. He tossed his head, dragged the middle down low to the ground while the right and left tried to snap and bite over the shoulder of the middle. Paws danced in all directions and dirt flew up about the duo. The Right was remembering things, remembering pain, remembering enslavement. Cane was no horse to be ridden, and the center recognized the correlation. He'd seen the ridden horses and the way their were beaten and whipped to serve under those who rode them. It was a memory that reminded him... of... of... his old Lord.
Hatred swelled up in his eyes, and the canine ignored tone and word that Xander attempted to use. He would hear none of it, nothing would calm him, nothing would satisfy him, and he would never allow himself to be controlled or manipulated like he had been before. REalistically, Cane didn't actually think about it all that much. All he knew was that this was a form of attack on himself and on his pride. Sure he picked out a few words from the mutterings Xander spilled, but the brute merely saw the similarity to his old life of imprisionment and he was firmly against it.
Burned flesh boiled on his side and only riled the beasts anger as the man upon his back fled. It was a good thing to, for Cane--at the exact moment the man leapt from his spine--buckled his left knees and tumbled sideways in a visciously dangerous roll. Coming up on his right legs, he stood for a moment to glare at the sneering Xander. But he didn't charge, not right away. He glared silently, analyzing this bold--or stupid-- young handsome.
The left picked up the vixen's cry. It was challanging and oh... it seemed she wanted the large four foot(from ground to shoulder) beast to chase her, and engage her. It was a tempting offer, but something held him.
Those silver eyes... so similiar... oh so similiar... a memory. Something deep inside of his subconscious warned against these eyes. What was it? He tried in vain to remember, but the way the glare held his own three sets of amber orbs left him mesmerized, as if awaiting... orders?
That was it!
Enslavement, captivity, curses, death, killing, murder, servitude, escape! His old Lord had had silver eyes. This was more than the vengeful beast could contain and his ears fell back against his skulls and his eyes--all of them--trained malignantly upon the single soul. The damned, Dark Lord... so similiar to the one from his escaped past. A vengeful lust for blood now filled his throat, and saliva grew thick and moist upon his black gums. Feirce, unearthly growls peirced the air between him and Xander. The large canine was nearly as tall as Xander, included the height of the dog's heads. The man alone was barely a match in Cane's eyesight. But Cane wasn't really thinking anymore. No other foe would due for the big dog now. The correlation had been made and those challanging silver eyes seemed to demand things of him that he would no longer give. Cane's chest slowly and purposefully grew closer and closer to the hard earth. His muscles bunching together....
... Ready to spring.
