Keiko was startled by the sudden grasp Crescent had taken her into. It was very rare for him to give her physical contact. As a matter of fact, the only contact he had given to her was that of tugs on her hair when he had anger towards her or was just teasing her. The cool wind brushed against her face as Crescent jumped into the highest tree. It made her weak body tremble with shivers from the cold. Crescent on the other hand was nice and warm. Just for the sake of warmth, Keiko wanted nuzzle her face into his chest and fall into a deep sleep, but she knew that was something she could not do. He was too unemotional and egotistical for anyone to be able to do that with him. Her head spun, so reluctantly she rested her head lightly into him.
Finally she heard the words of approval from the male to teleport. They didn’t seem sure, but they were the words she wanted. The water region? How far of a transport was that. From what Keiko knew of direction, that was a little while away, but if she set her heart to the goal, she was positive, well almost positive, that she could do it? Well, at least he wasn’t expecting to be too much of her as he said any other place would do. Keiko wondered why he wished to go to the region of water. Was there something there that he wanted or was he pledged to that god? Keiko didn’t care much. It wasn’t like there was any place she wanted to go or had to go. There was nothing going on in her life at that moment and at the rate she was going at, Keiko wouldn’t be able to accomplish much more until she regained strength.
“Why the water region?”
In her mind, she knew she was in no condition to do this type of physical activity, but there was no other option that was not time consuming and efficient. Her head spun in circles every time she moved just a few seconds too few, her entire body shook with chills even though it was warmish outside with a lingering chill in the wind, her face was always flushed, she was completely weak, and all her senses were dulling by the moment. There was a large chance of severe illness, but that didn’t bother her now. All she wanted was out of this Hell and into a nice warm place so that she could rest comfortably. Keiko looked up into Crescent eyes. Her eyes were full of fear. She was unsure of where they were going to end up, where they would land considering her clumsiness, and what her condition she would be in.
“Crescent, tell me one thing. If I go unconscious, will you just walk away or stay with me?”
Her sense of terror and adrenaline mixed, and that was never a good thing. Usually Keiko teleported standing up, but she was far too weak to stand and teleport let alone with someone else. Keiko somehow wound one of her arms around his waist to insure that he came along for the ride. Making sure she had everything that she carried with her, Keiko imagined a place in the water region with clear water and some type of salvation close by.
Just as she was about the do it, a sharp crack was heard and the tree started tumbling toward the murky green water infested with carnivorous creatures. She picked up the quick swift moving object lurking closer to them. Making sure she still was attached to her traveling companion and without farther thought, Keiko used her power. The place pictured crystal clear in her mind, her energy quickly diminishing, her senses weaker and weaker. Suddenly she felt the cool water splash over top of her, she also felt the warmth and the same textured clothing her traveling buddy in her one arm. The water was not the same as the water in the swamp.
Her body was too weak and drained of energy that it took much effort just to open her eyes and see of Crescent was there. Her eyes fluttered opened to see her cold-hearted face and a little of her surroundings. With the rest of her strength she spoke very quietly.
“Look. I did it.”
Her world became black and Keiko faded off still, clutching to Crescent, into some other unrealistic place, where things were always perfect. Her sister was always by her side and had grown up to be the most beautiful woman imaginable, Keiko was married, but the face was unrecognizable, and best of all she was a mother to a beautiful little adventurous girl. This was the life she wanted, yet it was always going to be so far from the grasp of her hands.
OOC: I was thinking about moving to Edges of the Lake since we are now out of the swamp, but if you want to go elsewhere I left the space open for almost anything ;D
