A young elven female rode in slowly on her golden palomino mare. Her blond hair fluttered in a gentle breeze, as two red feathers that forever remained tied in the locks brushed against her face gently. The mare nickered quietly and stopped by the edge of the lake. Glad to be reaching her destination finally the young elven female known as Himiel dismounted the mare silently and walked over to the lakes edge. She stood there staring out in the distance, her soft amber eyes fixed on something that lied on the other side of the lake. Her blond locks of hair blew in front of her face, and she reached up moved them without disturbing the red feathers that were tied to one side. The feathers where a gift from someone of her past and she had no intention of ever removing them.
The golden mare known as Saga, looked at the Himiel and shook her head, letting out a low snort. There wasn't any tack to remove since Himiel never rode her with a saddle or bridle, and Saga was grateful for that. Lowering her head, she began to snatch up mouthfuls of the grass that grew, all around enjoying herself, though she would glance at Himiel every now and then because the mare was in close tune with the Himiel's thoughts and feelings though she was far from being able to read minds there was an extremely strong bond between them that caused the effect. Raising her head for a quick moment and shook her head once more with a loud snort, wishing for some company she looked over to Himiel and nickered softly."Oh what do you know Saga? Himiel asked the mare with a slightly teasing tone, understanding from there close bond what the mare had wanted. It almost seemed odd the Himiel was alone, since she was young and considered beautiful by others but she there was something in Himiel's past that kept her from seeking love, and made her wait for it to find her so that she hopefully wouldn't have to go through another painful experience. It also seemed odd that if Himiel had a bad experience with love, why she would wait for it to seek her out but she had a feeling that if love found her it would be everlasting.
Saga, not satisfied with the answer stomped the ground with her hoof, and snorted loudly demanding for a better answer."Saga I know but it is very complicated. In stead of looking for company or asking someone to join is I want who ever it may be to come by there own free will"More satisfied with he answer Saga, nickered softly and went back to grazing from the lush green grass. Himiel smiled ever so slightly and turned her attention back to the other side of the lake. Was there someone out there who could understand what she went through and could they ease the pain and would she ever learn to love again, was there even someone else out there for her besides. Maybe all Himiel needed with a friend to make her feel better. These were all thoughts and questions along with many others that was racing her mind. With a soft sigh, Himiel shut her soft amber eyes and sat down, enjoying the peace, but at the same time wishing she wasn't alone.

As he walked along side the edge of the lake on a narrow path, a gust of wind came to life and played with the water and sounds of the surrounding area. He heard the natural sounds of the wilderness on the wind, which blew through his short light red-brown hair. The gifted healer heard the songs of birds, the game of squirrels in the leaves, the winds in the trees, however one sound was out of place. Being a man of an acute sense of hearing, he would have heard it sooner or later but now with the wind in his ears, it came all the more faster. It was a sigh. A lonesome, out of place sigh which from the tone of it sounded to be that of a woman. He halted on his journey to the city and turned from the path towards the sound of the waters; it rippled in the wind meeting the shore with a bit more force than usually expected, however it was still a gentle sound.
The healer mage, known as Kaid, walked straight towards the water’s cry listening for any clue as to where the being was located. He heard another creature in the grass. It was a larger being who sounded to be on four legs rather than two. The sound of grass breaking resonated from his left. He kept on his tiny journey to the waters listening for another clue as to where this woman could be. She sounded alone, as though she searched for something or someone. He walked until his sandal became damp with water and his toes became cold, until he came to the edge of the lake. From the movement of wind around him, he assumed the woman was not far off to his left.
He did not turn to allow her to see his eyes, his glazed eyes. Kaid did not desire for her to see she was in the company of a blind man right away. The healer had no need for her pity. Deciding he would allow her to see after he had heard her voice, the mage continued to stare out to the waters not seeing any light. His lips parted.
Do you desire company?

Saga nickered and her head shot up as she heard someone approach and the sudden sound from the mare caused Himiel to slowly open her eyes and looked over towards the mare. The golden mare was looking in the direction of the sound with her ears forward but didn't seem to think it was a threat so Himiel turned back to watch the water, deep in thought. She was thinking of her past and some recent events that were troubling her. Saga was still interested in the sound she had heard and went back to grazing the lush green grasses that grew all around, but raised her head at the sight of a figure.
Hearing a voice Himiel turned around with a slightly startled jolt, since she hadn't expected anyone to come up to her directly and speak to her. Her soft brown eyes shined brightly in the sunlight, and her naturally tanned skin seemed to glow as she stood in front of him not knowing what to sat for a few moments, until Saga trotted over to her and nudged her telling Himiel to speak and not stand there acting like she was sun struck. "Yes some company would be nice."She spoke softly with a voice that was very musical and angelic sounding that also indicated the she was of elven blood. Himiel had often been told that her voice was beautiful and matched her beautiful body perfectly. Beside her Saga nudged her once more and pawed the ground lightly, almost seeming like she was annoyed that she had to remind Himiel to speak or do things. "I'm Himiel and the mare is Saga."She introduced herself and Saga politely and bowed low in courtesy, but when she raised herself back up she began to wonder why he was looking directly at her, but deiced that it was possibly from a glare due to the sun. Saga nickered friendly to him, trying to explain that fact that company was good for Himiel because she had been alone for half a century. Himiel shot a playful glare and straightened her posture back up, not wanting to make a bad impression."So if I may ask what brings you out here?"

Kaid let a gentle smile pass and turned towards the sweet sound produced by the woman's voice. He closed his glazed eyes briefly as he shifted his weight. As he again opened them, he noticed not the difference between open and shut eyelids, however this was not knew to him. It may though be new to the woman considering most people who suffer blindness are usually dead within a year of life. They died through many means but the common causes were of outside sources. The villagers they knew may murder them because of beliefs the blind were diseased or possessed by demonic powers. Predators may pick them off as an easy meal or the blind may fall ill and are unable to tend to themselves. Another path of death for the blind was also the path of fatal mistakes. They may fall into traps or holes or trip off cliffs. Anyway, life for the blind has proved many times to be rough, which is an obvious understatement. That is beside the point however. Kaid's smile was accompanied with his gentile reply.
It is very nice to meet you Himiel and Saga. I am Kaid, a wandering healer.
In response to her own shift in posture, the gentle healer raised his hand in welcome terms and again spoke.
Please, do not worry about impressions and appearance. I am positive you are beautiful not matter the circumstances. Your angelic voice has proven that much for me. As for myself, I am afraid I have a long-lasting impression for you for I am apparantly blind.
With that said, he opened his eyes to revealed the glazed gray. His face took on the tender appearance of a gentleman hoping to not scare the woman. Hopful for good relations, Kaid continued.
As for why I am out here, I am roaming the outskirts of the nations searching for anyone and everyone who requires medicinal help. Do not let my blindness deter you. I am skilled with the healing properties of all herbs and water as well as with my own magical abilities.
Using his staff as a guide, he slowly walked towards where he had heard the woman's voice. Kaid only took a few steps in the direction and stopped so as to not scare her away. Also as to not insult her, he needed to ask one certain question of her.
Both names are remarkable and they seem of elvish origins, but I must ask... Saga... that is your companion's name? Am I correct Himiel? Please correct me. I do not want to call either of you by the wrong name.
Kaid smiled and softly laughed at himself. He could not believe that anyone would need to ask that sort of question about names.

Himiel and Saga had lived there own hard life, in a small village where they had grown up. Himiel didn't know Saga until she had met an elven male about her age and they had been engaged. Himiel's life had seen the happiest it had ever been until one say she saw Saga coming back to the village without a rider and had mounted the mare and asked her to take her to her beloved one only to find his cold corpse in a battle filed littered with bodies. The mare had her fare share on injures and Himiel had decided that the mare had seen enough war and death in her lifetime and had removed Saga's tack and told her to run free until she lost the light of her days. Saga had refused to leave Himiel's side and they had been close ever since, but Himiel had never once tacked the golden mare back up, preferring to ride her elven style.
"Its a pleasure to meet you as well Kaid."
Saga nickered her own equivalent of a greeting as Himiel bowed low in polite courtesy once more as she often did during introductions.
When Himiel heard he was blind she didn't think of him as a freak or become afraid, but just nodded silently trying to search for the right words to say so that she didn't make herself feel foolish. She searched her thought until she deiced to wit and see if he spoke again so that she could come up with a response of some sort. When she suddenly heard that he had healing knowledge relief seemed to flash in her eyes.
"Healers are highly respected or at least by me and Saga."
She said brightly as she watched him take a few steps towards her and she didn't show any signs of fear, but Saga seemed interested in the visitor. Himiel was glad for some company, it had been a lonely half a century with just her and Saga, though she loved the mare's company she had often felt the desire for the company of others but had never sought out anyone out to spend time. Maybe she was just afraid of getting attached again and having to end up going through the same pain.
"I am Himiel and my companion who is a mare is Saga."
Himiel spoke softly and Saga took a few steps forward so that she was now standing directly next to Himiel. The mare was battle scarred but most of the scars had been covered up with golden fur, but there was a few fresh ones on Saga's chest and shoulder that worried Himiel because they didn't look like they were healing right, but Himiel couldn't ask Kaid to help because the moment he tried to get near Saga's wounds she would start acting up, since she only trusted Himiel enough to mess with things like that.
"You know is great to have some company after being all only except for Saga as company."
Himiel said thoughtfully as she reflected on how lonely she had been. Saga seemed to be glaring at her asking if her company wasn't welcomed anymore of if she wasn't good enough for Himiel, but the mare was teasing her and Himiel stroked the mare's soft neck chuckling softly.

The healer bowed his head in thanks as well as respect. Her words gave him a sense of comfort and he smiled in response, however soon the memory of the disgrace he put upon his master and family returned and the contentment once shown on his face gave way to a more solemn Kaid. He withdrew for a moment to collect himself. Young Kaid listened to the water as it played with the banks of the lake near his feet. Firmly he placed his staff into the soft surf to discern approximately the age of the waters before him. By the amount and ease the silt let his staff by, he decided the lake must be quite old. It was natural, ancient and far more serene than he could ever hope his mind would be. He drifted off with his memories for a minute trying to remember, trying to justify in his own mind what he had done. Closing his eyes just to do it, he brought his attention back to the woman and her companion who had seemed to move… closer maybe to Himiel. Perhaps she did not trust the healer or she merely enjoyed the friendship of the elf-maiden. Kaid regained his pleasant poise and expression upon his face. Politely he nodded again.
Thank you for your kindness… and then more to himself he whispered, though I am afraid I do not deserve such praise.
He knew what he had done when he was still a mere apprentice was right by all standards of the well-being of all creatures, however it was still against his master’s wishes and for that Kaid will forever punish himself mentally. Silently for no reason but a feeling, he felt around with his mind. He brought his large left hand to cover his face; his staff remained in his dominant right hand. There was pain in the air; he could feel it plainly as if it was his own. It was slight and it seemed more like a constant dull throbbing rather than the sticking of something such as a thorn in his side. Kaid continued to search for the source of the small ache. There it is. Saga, Himiel’s mare, is the being who carried the load. He felt for the beast however she was not his. If Himiel desired aid for her friend, then she would ask it of him. She knew what he was… but she did not really know him. He was but a stranger to her and so she may not feel right asking him.
I am glad I have been of some help for you in that sense, however if I can, I wish to assist you in other ways. It seems to me one amongst you two bear the burden of slight pain. If you wish, I do not mind helping. If not, I can still remain with you and aid by curing your yearning for company.
He knew it was the mare who hurt, however if they did not wish him to heal the wounds, he would not force his services upon them. After all, judging by the horse’s movements, the injury did not seem too serious to Kaid. Warnings of a discomfort would lie in the sounds the creature made. After twenty years as a blind healer, he was used to other signs rather than visual ones. Kaid had become very skilled even with his handicap though he does not think of his blindness in such a way.

Himiel smiled softly as she stared out at the waters, she noticed how calm they looked and how beautiful it looked the when the sun reflected on them. She turned back to Kaid after she watched the water roll back and forth in the lake. Closing her eyes for the briefest of moment as the wind blew her golden blond hair causing the red feathers that were tied up in the locks against her face, Himiel thought about her old village once more which was something she use to do. Himiel knew that she would loose the light of her days before she lost thoughts of her village and everything that had happened.
"I use to know a healer who lived in my village. Even though he was more of a fighter than a healer he was the best one in the village and when he left this world everyone took it hard." She spoke softly with a small comforting smile and then thought to herself. "But no one took it harder then me and Saga."
Saga, sensing Himiel's sudden sadness nibbled her sleeve gently. Himiel smiled slightly and patted the mare on the neck, glad that the mare always knew what she was feeling and that they were in tune with each other so much. If Saga hadn't been a mare and an elf instead, Saga and Himiel could have been considered to be sisters, but it wasn't that way and they were extremely close friends, best friends one could say. Himiel knew that there were those who couldn't understand having such a close relationship with a mare, but she had gotten use to the questions and at times almost found them amusing.
"Saga is dose have some slash marks on her from a while ago, but she doesn't seem to be in much pain other than a dull throbbing which we have been unable to make go away. Also the wounds don't look like there healing right, but your welcome to take a look and your company is always welcomed"
Saga tossed her head and snorted, backing up a few steps considering that the wounds only began to hurt alto when someone messed with them, but she also knew that Himiel was worried about them and didn't want to worry. She stood there for a few moments, considering everything and then got up the courage and walked right over to Kaid and stood right in front of him and nickered softly, her own well of telling him to take and that she will behave.
Himiel smiled softly, pleased with the mare's reaction, and she had understood what the mare was trying to say. She watched for a while, then the thought came and then she wondered is Kaid was fluent in equine, she wasn't but the close bond with Saga allowed her to understand the mare.
"Shes willing to let you have a look without her trying any of her tricks."
Himiel quickly translated and quieted immediately because she had not given Kaid a chance to see if he understood her or not. Saga did feel an annoying throbbing sensation in the area of the wounds, at first it had been painful but she had began to ignore the pain, to the point where it was just annoying. As to where she got the wounds, only Saga knew because Himiel had not been with her at time since the mare and left there camp one night and decide to go for a gallop through the nearby forest, getting cut by several different kinds of plants with twigs and thorns sticking out. Saga had also seen a figure with out sword out the corner of her eyes and he had swung the sword at her, but she doubted it had hit her because none of her wounds were that painful, but Himiel on the other hand though she didn't know about the late night trip she thought that most of the wounds were from swords.

The blind healer smiled at the sound of the words ‘take and have a look’. He knew it was out of habit the word ‘look’ was used… or maybe she had not have realized he was indeed blind. Kaid shrugged the notion off; he was pleased they would allow him to help, allow him to do what he could. Slowly, he approached the soft sound of hooves upon the lake banks. Feeling around in the air, Kaid searched for the exact location of Himiel’s friend. Soon enough he found his destination.
Tenderly, the caring healer examined the wounds with his fingers. He found them, as the elf maiden had said, not healing as wounds of their size should. They seemed indented into the flesh more as a fresh wound would be rather than the extent to which injuries of a time past. The man continued to examine the marks seeing them through means of his fingers for some time. Diagnosing the aliments with his trained skills he finally came to a conclusion.
These abrasions seem to me to be the results of a very brutal species in the world of vegetation – a spina lamierina perhaps. They tend to grow mostly in dense forests and produce long thorns, which cut like blades. Unfortunately, that is not the worst of their bite. Many times, the mature plant excretes a toxin covering the thorn in poison; it is not fatal however, just bothersome. Luckily, I have encountered wounds inflicted by their evil many times in past and know of how to alleviate the pains. If you will allow me, I have the antidote with me and can administer the remedy. I am only suggesting this course of action only as a precaution, of course, and the injuries could be from a normal blade, however even those gashes should heal properly without treatment. How long ago would you say this happened?
Kaid cocked his head up towards where he last believed the elf woman to be. A placid expression imitating the calm sounds of the lake covered his face. He did not wish to make the woman afraid for her friend and he was confident he could her the mare. The only thing required was the she-elf’s consent for him to continue.

Himiel had used the word 'look' out of habit and had almost regretted using the word moments after she had said it, but as long as Kaid didn't take any offense to it she supposed that it was alright. She watched as he moved closer to Saga, hoping that the mare intended to stay quiet and hadn't been playing around when she had acted like she was going to allow herself to be checked over and then at the last second try something.
Saga stood quietly, and snorted when she felt the gentle touch of his fingers on her wounds, causing the sensation of pain to start back up. The had been only throbbing just enough to annoy her but as soon as they were touched it shot a blast of pain through her system, but she stood quietly just as Himiel wanted her to do. She wasn't sure if standing here was the best thing to right now when she was in pain, but instinct that was telling her to get out of Kaid's reach so he would stop touching them was fought but her trust of Himiel and the willingness to please her. In the end of her mental battle Saga stayed put where she was, standing calmly.
"If you think it is truly one of those plants than give her the antidote, I have also considered the work of a blade since we always seem to be in some sort of trouble like that."
Himiel tried to remember when she had first seen the wounds on the mare and looked towards Saga, hoping that she had understood what the question was like she sometimes did, but this time the mare did not understand what was being spoken of and stood there almost with a blank expression.
"I think I first saw the wounds on her about two and a half maybe three weeks ago."
Himiel said quietly, and hoped that it didn't sound like she didn't care for Saga, because she had tried every trick she could think of to help the mare's wounds heal, but none of them seemed to work, but then again she knew very little and often relied on wounds to heal themselves overtime and maybe cover them with a bandage or something. When Himiel thought about it she realized that it was her own fault that she didn't have good healing skills, since she had chosen to live the life of a fighter and spend her time training with the soldiers instead of learning to heal like her mother had wanted her to. Once she realized that she had spoken for a while she thought it over once more and nodded, out of habit.
"You way do what is needed to heal her."
She replied softly and Saga seemed to give her an odd look, as if some sort of sharp object was going to be used in the healing process and Himiel just closed her eyes shaking her head, finding it humorous how the mare could seem to overreact on the slightest thing.

Healer Kaid took his hands from the mare’s chest in response to her subtle objection to his touch. He raised his left hand following her neck, patted and stoked just beneath her head in an attempt to comfort her. Gently he spoke to her trying to help her understand exactly what was going to occur. He explained the lotion which would soothe and the antidote which most likely would sting upon application. Meanwhile with his right hand, he searched the folds of his garb for the delicate vial containing the lotion and the tiny pouch holding the crushed remains of a plant from his village. Carefully pouring some of the soothing cream into his non-dominant hand, the benevolent Kaid added just a smidgen of the flora while he squatted near the earth. As he prepared the remedy, he explained understandingly to Himiel what he hoped to accomplish with the concoction.
I am fairly sure this was done by the thorns of the spina lamierina. However, being I lack the gift of sight, I rely on my judgment through my fingers and ears. If you would like to help, could you tell if there is any redness around the cut?
He could feel the wound was drawn into the mare’s flesh, however since the injury is weeks old, he can no longer sense any heat emitted from the gash. His ears listened carefully to her answer. Kaid took a breath and continued explaining his methods and medicines.
Besides, the lotion I have created is equipped to deal with infection as well if this indeed was done by a blade.
The healer finally finished stirring the mixture with his index finger in his left hand. With critical scrutiny, he scooped up a little mix and rubbed it between his fingers of his right hand. He judged whether it was mixed thoroughly enough for the job. Satisfied with the viscosity of the solution, Kaid stood and found the mare’s chest with the back of his hand. Flowing movements turned his hand around to apply the remedy to the abrasions on her chest. Tenderly rubbing the lotion on the wounds, the man made sure to catch the length of the cut. There remained enough lotion for one more gash of the last’s size. Softly Kaid searched the surrounding flesh for any other hurts which needed treatment paying close attention to the mare’s movements and trying to keep her as calm and comfortable as possible by talking to her. He found another lesion on her shoulder; to finish off the cream, the gentle healer mage massaged the remaining ointment into the flesh surrounding the wounds. Kaid smiled imagining the relief this would give the horse and perhaps even her elf friend (From the sound of her voice he had decided she could only be of the elfin kindred.). He bent down to pick up his staff he had placed on the ground for easy handling of medicines; also he replaced the minute vial and diminutive pouch back into the folds of his clothes. As he straightened, the kind man sighed naturally.
Himiel, is there any more injuries bothering your mare or perhaps you require attention?
He asked in a charming low tone that may be used by a friend and yet it was a slightly concerned tone perhaps used by parents and loved ones. A sense of pain in the air put him a little bit on edge. Kaid felt as though someone in the distant was in serious pain and in great turmoil. But how would I find them? I need to be sure this woman and her horse will be fine before I embark on any journey towards more severe aches in the world.

OOC: sorry for the wait I’ve been down with something for about a week and mom wouldn’t let me post until I got better. Hope you not mad at me. ^^
Himiel watched with interest, to her it was almost like someone who was blood related to her was in critical condition and something could go horribly wrong even though Saga’s wound seemed to be minor it still caused her worry. She noticed how well Saga seemed to be taking it all, but then again she was the patient here and not Himiel. It always seemed odd that when there was treatment of some sort the patient always seemed calmer than the family or those who cared about him or her. The thought ran through her mind until the healer’s voice cut into her thoughts causing her to jolt back to reality.
”There doesn’t seem to be any redness around the wound, but there could have been at the time of the incident.”
She said thoughtfully, feeling stupid that she didn’t remember anything and that could very the treatment possibly and she didn’t want the mare to get the wrong treatment and the something still be wrong with her. Himiel seemed to calm thought at his neck words and watched as he worked.
Saga stood quietly as she was treated and seemed very calm about the whole thing considering that fact she usually didn’t take very well to strangers or those she didn’t know very well. She listened to his soft voice and didn’t notice anything as he treated her. In a way it reminded Himiel just standing there talking to her when ever one of them needed comfort.
”No there is nothing else bothering me…or Saga wound wise.”
She spoke softly and glanced at the mare before answering for her as well. Himiel herself had mental and emotional wounds but those would heal with time. She noted the tone of his voice and couldn’t help but smile to herself. It reminded her of someone she knew and was very fond of. He had always been friendly towards her, and they had become more than friends but whenever she had looked at him or spoke to him there had always been concern for her. But now the he laid in a tomb she had made for him, and it wasn’t to far from here maybe she would go visit.
While Himiel reflected on thoughts Saga took the chance to thank Kaid in her own way. She nickered softly to him and tugged at his sleeve gently, but not enough to unbalance him. She knew who and what Himiel was thinking about and nudged him gently in her direction, trying to tell him to get her to talk. Himiel had never spoken of it, and the mare seemed to think that she would never get better unless she spoke to someone.

After tending to the mare’s wounds and standing, Kaid thrust his thoughts into the distance searching for the location of the intense pain. However he remained in that state for no more than a few moments; his new company threw the man back into the reality surrounding his body. The blind healer felt the equine against his back pushing him in the direction, he assumed, of Himiel. He could feel the connection between horse and rider or better yet between friends or companions. The mage could not help but smile at the couple and their concern for each other. During the procedure, he had sensed the worry practically radiating from the elfin figure and now the concern came from her mare who now urged him nearer the woman. With staff in hand, the benevolent healer found his way to the woman’s side.
Please tell me… what is truly troubling you? Even if it is not physical… a wound is a wound. Be assured you can trust my person with those issues of personal value.
He raised his left hand to find her shoulder, however soon rejected the idea. Kaid dared not to intrude on personal boundaries and if she needed anything, it would be proper protocol for her to invite him closer before he brought her body closer to his. The healer sadly thought of the pains being in the world involves and reminded himself of his own scars his soul and heart bear. I betrayed her… I disobeyed my master… in doing so, I saved a life and in turn saved my own… Still, I disobeyed and dishonored her. Soul, heart and mind wrenched at the memories but his exterior betrayed nothing to those people around him. He did not desire to let Himiel know of his pain and sorrow. Kaid had never allowed his peers and patients know of his past, unless it was required knowledge or they asked. He assumed people could not come to trust a healer who could not heal him own aches and so he just did not say. But if they asked, he also could not be untruthful and say nothing. It is their right and it is his duty to serve them the information in repentance for his sin.
Another budge forced him back into the present from his past. He felt a warm breeze upon his face and in his short hair. Kaid faced where he believed Himiel stood. Finally after a time of silence, the healer broke the serene, natural silence with a tender voice speaking a question.
Show me where you are and trust me.

Himiel was eased knowing that now she and Saga could continue going about in life helping others in there own way. While none of them were healers there team work was admired, they were so in tune with each other there was something like a mental connection between them. Himiel’s skill with a blade and Saga’s quick foot work and instinct made them a well sought out team for hire.
Pleased the Kaid was now going to question Himiel; the mare lowered her head and began to graze on the lush grasses, her mane and tail blowing gently and the breeze as she let Himiel and Kaid speak without interruption.
“You may come closer, I have no objection.”
She said softly after watching the healer’s movement as it seemed he was going to rest a comforting hand on her shoulder, which would be welcomed on her part.
”I am mourning for the lost of someone dear to me. He died because of this was between the four kingdoms. While he went off to fight I was forced to stay behind at the village, as a reserve because no one thought highly of women fighting. Saga was his mare at first and she went to war, but when he fell from the saddle she came back to me and then took me to his body. I ended up burying him no to far from here, just in a small forest near a waterfall.”
She spoke softly, in almost a whisper but kept her voice loud enough for him to hear. Somehow talking about it after keeping it bottled up all these years was helping her and she was glad that she had found someone who would finally and hopefully understand what she was going through. Himiel shifted a little, causing her sword to slide around inside its sheath with a small tingling sound.
”I’m in front of you and slightly to your right. Don’t worry, I trust you.”
She said to answer his question and let out a long sigh, before she took a deep breath, preparing herself for what ever might be said next. Suddenly feeling like it was a nice gesture on her part she took a few steps closer to him and touched his arm lightly just about his elbow with a gentle touch, silently letting him know that she now stood in front of him.

His face softened even more from his original kind expression. He smiled quietly when he felt her touch on his arm. Slowly moving his arm towards where she showed him, Kaid caressed her delicately fleshed arm. He understood the loss of those one loves and deeply cares for… his master and parents and sister… they were all gone from his life after he sinned against the master healer of his home village… his now destroyed home village. Closing his eyelids, the healer mage covered his glazed over eyes and breathed calmly gathering himself and pondering his next move; he did not desire to give this young woman the wrong impression. Finally deciding slightly what to do, he once again opened his eyes.
Lightly he moved both worked hands up her arms to firmly, yet tenderly, grip her shoulders. He directed his eyes straight forward and slightly at a downward angle hopefully towards her face… it was times like this he wished he could see – to take in this woman’s face and see the beauty, sorrow, and grief… to again be able to see the emotions and not only feel them – but his blindness was his punishment he reminded himself. Kaid cleared his mind and brought himself back to Himiel; he had a hard time focusing with the pain and torment in the air.
It is alright and necessary to grieve; that part of life is entirely natural and true to a beings heart, especially for the soft hearts of the world… those hearts which have already lost loves. I am here and can listen. Believe me it is unhealthy to keep such things bottled up inside your soul.
His gentle voice faded off as he thought to himself. He so desired to tell her he was also grieving for his losses even if they were lost due to another reason other than war – himself. He has always blamed himself for what happened to his village but still another half believes saving that boy was right though it was against his master. However he decided he needed to stay strong for this woman and her grievances. Kaid thought of the grave nearby and the battle perhaps also near. As a healer and a person, he decided in his own mind closure may be the best cure for Himiel’s pains; it will never go away but she cannot let it rule her life if she wishes to continue on its course and it sounded as though she had not come to terms with his death yet.
If you wish, I could accompany you to visit your love. I want to be sure you are fine.
A calling breeze flowed through the scene. He felt needed in many places however he was merely one person. The mage heard Saga nearby chewing on the sweet grasses in the area and he heard the fair lady breathing.

Himiel stared out at the lake with her head turned at an angle, rather than moving her body so that Kaid wouldn’t have to search for her after she had told him where she was. She could see the kind and caring expression on his face, and she smiled a little. It had been too long since she had been shown any compassion or understanding, too long had she kept her emotions bottled up only to eat away at her, but now it would all end here. No longer would she feel the need to keep her emotions hidden except to those she trusted. It had been foolish of her to think that someone might judge on her emotions and not her personality.
As she felt a firm yet gentle grip on her shoulders, slowly she turned back to face him and a small smile crossed her face, she wanted to tell him how much it meant to her that she met someone who understood what she was going though, but sadly she could not find the words for it. Himiel wondered what things would have been like if she had not kept her emotions bottled up all these years, but instead let others know how she was feeling. Could she have prevented herself from being only for almost half a century? She wasn’t sure even if she wanted to find the answer to that question, for fear of not being understood….the same fear she had now, now she listened to Kaid’s kind words and was starting to feel a little better.
”You are the first one I have ever met besides Saga who has been willing to listen and to try and help me and I thank you for that.”
Her voice was soft and gentle and didn’t carry a tone of sorrow or pain like it had earlier, in fact it seemed as if she had been covering it up almost. Letting her emotions out and not keeping them bottled up was a skill that she was going to have to practice on to help herself feel better about losing her loved one.
”Okay, it is alright with me if come and it is within walking distance…”
A snort caught Himiel’s attention and caused her to look over at the mare who had lifted her head from her grazing and nickered softly to Himiel and Kaid, expressing her own opinion on the matter.
”Saga agrees that you should come.”
She spoke with a hint of a chuckle in her voice and glanced over her shoulder at the forest in which the waterfall and the grave happened to be.

With alert ears, the benevolent healer listened to her gratitude and thanks. It too has been a while since last he heard words, which resided in that particular category. Since the days of his betrayal he had not had become close enough to anyone who even considered thanks necessary. Her words were uplifting to his heavy heart and soul. Then she accepted his offer to accompany her to her love’s grave. He smiled kindly.
Unfortunately the grin did not control his facial features long. A pondering and concerned look appeared upon his face accompanying his current thoughts plaguing his mind – Hopefully her heart does not suffer the same fate as her love. Then he turned his face upwards towards the heat radiating from the sun. I wonder what has become of the pain in the distance. It has dulled in a sense however it still exists; perhaps the being has passed out and requires assistance, but there is another there also in pain. Friends perhaps or maybe enemies; they need medical treatment! Kaid jolted from the thought and brought himself back to the present woman in need of another sort of comfort and aid. He cleared his mind and looked again. Finding another source of life force entirely ready, the healer calmed. This being did not seem to him malevolent concerning the two injured.
The mage felt he needed to find them and help where he could, but then he shook the thought from his mind. It is not possible for him to treat all in pain or suffering; the deed would drive Kaid insane and he decided it was for the best he remain with his present charge – the best for his own well-being and therefore his allies’ health.
Listening to Himiel’s voice and to Saga’s snort, the healer again smiled in caring fashion. He nodded in recognition of their agreement. Kaid then spoke in a fun tone.
I am glad you approve of my coming along, Himiel. Same to you, Saga. I am pleased to hear of your acceptance of me.
The giving man chuckled lightly and then gestured into the distance taking in the horizon he alone could not see. A grin took control of his face as a whole. She had indeed uplifted his spirits by subtle means.
Let us begin our journey together then.

A tall pony -- one which could be mistaken for either horse or pony -- ran through the underbrush; trapling the young weeds and plants in its rush. There was a need for haste, Sata had made that clear, and the messanger boy had too much at stake to return without a healer. He was a young human child -- a page of Saverin. He had a small, minute amount of mage powers, which had yet to develope. He loved to grow things, his magic was in plants. Some called him Briar. He had adopted the name over his own.
But now he was not concentrating on the plants in his garden or the chorse he had yet to accomplish. He was not paid for his services, but the reward for his servanthood as a page would be a higher title, and a proper education. It was more than enough to satisfy the young lad of twelve. He rode the horse bareback, without saddle or sword -- he rode weaponless, he rode hard.
His face was scratched from low lying branches and his crotch was sore from the constant bumping of his rear against the bare spine of the running animal. He bit his lip as his horse jumped over a fallen log and nearly unseated the young rider. Clinging to both reins and mane the lad raced on. He had stopped at a small elfin village. He had been met with some hospitality. But the elves dare not injure a messanger who was unarmed, not hostile, and expected to return. And so he was given directions to the last place in which the healer, Kaid. The village had known of only two -- one called Zerachian and one called Kaid. They had not seen Zerachian in some time and so they directed him with a set of round about directions.
He did notice however, that his path was clearing... he actually found a trail and the short gelding let out an excited snort as it scented another horse not far. The gelding was a pompous old fool and was so flirtatious and studly that sometimes, Briar wondered if the horse had really been gelded at all. The gelding had a knack for running in the direction towards other horses... so Briar gave the horse more of its head. It eagerly took the bit and charge onwards. It's choice of path was not far off from the direction Briar had been given, so he allowed the journey to continue in the horse's chosen direction.
Finally, he cleared the brush and found himself nearly upon a golden mare, an elfin woman, and... a man? Human or not, Briar could not tell. He quickly and sharply pulled back on the bit, causing the gelding to toss up its head in protest. Brair lost his ballance and slid off the horses rear as the white tall pony reared up in more protesting guestures. Hitting the earth with a thud, Briar stood shakily and dusted off his rump -- knocking leaves, sand, and dirt from his plain white tunic and breaches. Looking from man to woman, he walked back to the gelding's head and gripped the reins with a sturdy hand. Then shyly, and a little bit uncertain spoke up in a soft timid voice, "Sir? Are you called Kaid?" The boy asked as he noted the man's eyes -- the hallow white color. The elves had said that Kaid was a blind man. The boy did not yet mention that he was sent by Satazian - master of soil.

Healer Kaid had just finished inviting Himiel and Saga to begin on their journey together to visit her lost love when another… hasty horse’s trampling hooves and a strange thud interrupted the peaceful sound on the lake against the sandy shore. Turning his ear towards this new encounter, the blind man listened to the patting of hands on, he assumed, a now dusty pair of pants. Then another voice reached his adeptly sensitive ears; it seemed the timid and almost reluctant voice of a boy.
Yes. What is your name if I may so ask?
He answered quickly, yet openly hoping to not scare the young man. Kaid felt slightly ashamed turning his attention from the young elfin woman who had so recently opened her arms and maybe even her heart to him allowing him to visit parts of her past with her. The healer did not feel it right to leave the lady after only just breaking the ice and offering her assistance and company. If this boy’s message is of urgency and of immediate importance, I will go and tend to it, but I refuse to leave her for any other reason… for no trivial matter. Kaid promised himself he would not be the cause of any more pain for Himiel or her energetic mare. Therefore, without saying another word, he waits for a reaction from either individual.
ooc: sorry for the tiny post... didn't have much to work with and didn't want to leave Himiel to far behind... ;D

The young boy's eyes shifted from his horse, to the woman's mare, to the woman herself, and then to Kaid. He fidgetted slightly and rehearsed the message in his mind even as he fondled the paper in his pocket. He hated being away from home. Much less, being away from his nation. The room to travel seemed so far away. The rivers to cross the plains to traverse. It was all so tedious. But here he was with a message for a foreigner. A summons to the Master of Soil. What would happen if Kaid refused? Hopefully there would be no such thing.
Shakily he muttered his name, "Sahe."
Raising his voice and his eyes he looked at the older man, and then looked to his message. The man could not see, how could he read the writing. It was something that Mr. Sata had not considered -- if he knew at all. So, his hands trembling slightly, he unfolded the cracked piece of paper. Again he began to speak:
"I have a message for you from my Master, Satazian of Soil. It reads:
I firmly request your attendence to the realm of Earth. Your assistance or the assistance of another healer is required. Innocents have been harmed, and the extent of their injuries cannot be healled by simple medicine. You will be allowed entry and exit from the city of Saverin without delay. My messanger, Sahe will willfully escort you. Any of your needs will be provided. Please come, I would be most grateful."
Sahe paused, as if unsure to continue or not,
"Also, should you decline the invitation for some unknown reason... the rejection will not be easily accepted by myself or the woman and child who are in need of a healer's care. Nor will it be forgotten.
Sincerely, Satazian, Master of Soil."
Sahe ended the messaged and grabbed the reins of his horse. Waiting for any responce the healer might give. He hoped the firm strong words of Sata had not upset the man. Sahe hoped it did not... mostly for his own sake.

Gideon Havic rode swiftly through his homeland, a soldier of water providing a favor for his mistress. His steed a valiant white horse of a young age was his only companion along with a set of arrows and a sturdy bow strapped to his back for protection. The beauty of the forest that passed him by was exquisite, a ride he enjoyed immensely but this time it was to deliver a series of messages from Rigel his Mistress. Havic kept his eyes open for the worst as he remembered his lady telling to never allow her letters to fall into other hands. Although he felt comfortable traveling through the forest to the lake a part of him was tense. Finding a healer he knew nothing of was beyond him. He did not know why his lady wished to see this man or of what importance he was to her. Never was he told and he would never find out, unless under specific circumstances would he ever pry for facts he never wished to hear. She had a use for him this was certain or never would he be summoned. She knew something he did not and Havic wished to keep it that way. As he rode through the clearing of the forest he realized it would not take him much longer to reach the lake Rigel had described. As he quickened his pace his black, thin hair whipped his face as did the light breeze that blew along the lake. Down on the lake bed the horses strong legs dug into the moist soil as he neared what he saw was a grouping of people. He slowed his horse to a trot so not to scare the small party of humanoids and the other horse. Dismounting lightly making no noise he hit the earth with a soft thud. Walking toward the three standing he presumed that two were of the elfin race while the other was not. Perhaps another had requested Kaid? He was not sure, but he would proceed with the actions he was asked to carry out...
"My name is Second Lieutenant Gideon Havic, and I have come to present Lord Kaid with a letter from the Mistress of Rain."
He bowed slightly for the lady and other male to see, for Gideon knew Kaid could not.
"I will read you the letter my Lord if you allow, for I know you seem quite occupied at the moment but my Lady told me you might be willing to listen."
He stopped and stood and wondered if the man would reply to his request. o.o.c. sorry to mess up your order I hope you dont mind....

Momentarily forgetting the woman behind him, Kaid listened closely to what the young man had to say. He nodded in recognition to the lad’s name, Sahe. The healer became so intent on hearing the message upon hearing the sender’s name and title, Master Satazian of Soil. Another leader has summoned him and requested his assistance in a presumably horrible situation. Could this be the suffering and pain I was feeling earlier? But where are Earth’s healers? They could not only belong to Heiseph and the nation of water!
For a few moments after the boy finished, Kaid contemplated and pondered over his options and the summons. The words read to him repeated in his head. Nor will it be forgotten. Few things can be forgotten. A healer’s mind could not simply refuse to help, especially Kaid’s. To help is what a healer was born to do. Why else had he disobeyed, betrayed his master to save that little boy in the past? What had he gained from doing so? And still the benevolent man remained guilty blaming himself for the death of his village and family. Hence the reason he keeps trying to save lives and ease pains. Kaid could not reject Satazian’s request due to his mentality. However, there was another factor to consider – the Water nation. He did not wish to be the cause of the fall of another community, to repeat his mistake… only on a larger scale. But if he did refuse to come, then most probably tensions would increase between Water and Earth. So for the safety of his nation, Kaid decided to tend to the Soil Master’s ‘innocents’.
Well then, he began in a strong voice to assure the boy of his truth, I cannot in good conscience refuse to help. After answering the boy, Kaid turned to Himiel. He needed to go and he hoped she would understand. His face expressed genuine emotion. I must apologize however I must leave with him. I hope you understand. Thank you for your kindness and I promise to continue our journey if you still wish it once our paths cross for a second time. Farewell. Once finished, Kaid let her shoulders, which he had gripped, go and turned. He patted Saga and continued to find his way to the boy and his mount.
I believe it would be best if I rode with you, Sahe. Now it was the healer’s turn to listen – listen for Himiel’s acceptance or Saga’s objection or any indication form the young man of Earth it was time to embark on their journey to Saverin.
Unfortunately, against the sake of order, another voice interrupted adding to the chaos of the mind. Kaid turned to listen. Half or him was relieved to hear he was of Water, however he also feared the contents of his message; he had already announced his decision and did not desire it seen as treason.
Very well, Lieutenant Havic, the healer said the name with a slightly questioning tone, however… I’m afraid… you must make it quick. I’ve just been summoned to Saverin and consented to return with Sahe here. The blind man referred to the young man and explained to prevent any confusion for Gideon. Then after a pause, his judgement took hold; quickly he explained his reasons in a sentence: I am doing this for life and for our nations’ safety. He had meant both Water and Earth but let it up to the messengers to interpret.
He hoped all would understand.

Gideon now knew that Earth had summoned Lord Kaid. He was puzzled at first, but thought the cause was credible. Kaid had every right to commit himself to his occupation, and every right to do as he wished. The Mistress had said he was wise and Gideon knew that he made the right choice for his nation and he believed his Lady would understand. "My Lord, I feel your decision is your own business, I am just the messenger and I will tell my Lady what you want her to know, but as for her letter, I will read..."
Healer Kaid, I wish your presence here at headquarters for a few days, your council is needed as well as your skills and it would be of great importance that I need you. Lady Of Heiseph Rigel Prehgira
When he finished reading aloud in his clear voice, he paused for a reaction from Kaid and possibly the Earth messenger. What is the trouble in Earth that calls for a healer such as Kaid? Is there a battle? He turned to the Earth messenger and addressed him with respect. "Messenger of Earth," he bowed slightly, "If I may ask on what grounds does your Master ask of Lord Kaid, I am interested, for the Mistress of Rain would surly be pleased to know why her subject is to enter the gates of Earth." He looked directly at the boy and hoped he would give a decent answer if he could indeed supply one.

Sahe scuffed his foot within the dirt when the elven messanger and possible soldier addressed Kaid. Sahe could do little to interrupt he was the invader, so to speak. He hadn't really asked permission to come here... but then again he didn't mean any harm and usually messengers were allowed to enter and pass. They had a certain neutrality about them. They travelled unarmed and vulnerable, so they posed no threat... however, it wasn't unheard of for people to ignore the codes of chivalry and murder stray messengers who entered their lands.
Now this was not a notion he was worried about. In fact he wasn't as nervous as he would have assumed himself to be. This was his first mission outside of his homeland -- but overall it didn't seem all that terrible like some of the elder boys had mentioned.
His gelding pony shifted uncomfortably as it desired to satisfy itself on the blades of tender grass that was lush due to the maximum amount of water allowed to soak up through the roots of the fertile soil. However, Sahe did not allow the horse to graze... the grass was bad with the bit... and caused a risk of choking or excess froth, which was not something that Sahe wanted to clean when he returned home.
He was trying to come up with a way for him to lead the blind man quickly back to aid Earth. There had been a quiet old mare that Sahe had been eyeing when he passed by for a rest in one of the villages along the way. She was going cheap due to her age and infertility... but it would serve well for Sahe's purposes. He needed a horse that could be easily led and could keep a decent pace. He had looked her over before and she hadn't seemed more than 17 years old. And if she was a little sluggish, perhaps Kaid could assist her stature and give her a little added endurance --somehow. All she needed to do was tag along behind, which could easily be accomplished by a long lead of twine attached to her halter.
Sahe was ripped away from his contemplation as the conversation between healer and warrior shifted to him.
Why was Sata asking for Kaid's presence? Well... Sahe wasn't sure if he should speak of it or not, but there was a certain boiling rage that surged through him at the reminder of the rumors that had been spreading through the town. The stories ranged from hundreds against two, to a full onslaught of men and dragons against a couple of young women of Earth. It was enough to make any citizen of Earth boil with a certain rage. Fire had attacked... that was the rumor that was curculating. Being a messenger of the barracks he had heard from a friend who heard from a freind that a second messenger had been sent to the fire region to demand and asnwer and set up a meating between the two mighty Lords.
So with a few contemplative thoughts, he looked up towards the elf -- his eyes sparked with a certain vengeful flame.
"A band of the Fire nations forces supposedly attacked two of Earth's citizens -- rather unfair odds, I have heard. The women were surprisingly victorious but they lay close near death in the presence of master Satazian. Atleast... that is the story that has gossipped about the messenger barracks... and the messengers always know." he said with an innocent smirk and proud support of his thin chest.
Satazian probably would have dissaproved of his eager tongue to tell... but Sahe didn't think about that. Messengers were supposed to give the message and stay silent. Oops!
Oh well, Sahe was oblivious to the offence and just looked at the elf's strong gaze, not at all daunted by it. Hell what had gotten in to him, where had all this confidence come from? He frowned at himself and lowered his gaze returning to scuff the dirt with his toe.

The contemplative healer listened closely to the conversation between messengers of separate nations. It was a sort of unusual dialogue considering messengers were merely expected to deliver their correspondence to the intended receiver with a certain sense of haste; at least that is how Kaid had seen it when he ran errands for his former master when he was still a small lad fetching ingredients and delivering remedies to homes.
He listened to the two voices – one understanding and curious while the other angry. Kaid wondered what would drive the fire nation to attack two women and why Earth did not have healers with such skills dedicated to these very types of events. So very curious am I… however I have no right to be. I am a healer of the craft of helping not speaking. When asked for council, I will be glad to express my thoughts on the matter, but no other time. I owe that to these people of Algaësia.
Having made up his mind concerning Master of Soil Satazian’s citizens, the tall man moved silently towards where he heard the seeming furious lad scuff his feet in the dirt. Since hearing of the circumstances which brought these women to their current state mere moments ago, Kaid felt a new sense of necessity in arriving swiftly to the great earth city of Saverin.
As soon as he felt the conversation between messengers died into the air, the kind man of the healing arts spoke up in haste.
Please… I believe we must be going now. I have innocents to save.
The phrase was hushed however it possessed almost the same sense as an order and the true urgency of the life-or-death situation in which two young women now found themselves.

The messenger of Earth seemed reluctant to except and answer Gideon's questions concerning Earth's situation, but he told in an eager voice and with heated anger in his eyes. The boy had a right to be furious, if the rumors were indeed as true as they sounded, Fire was on dangerous grounds. The elf listened to the horrific news intently, Fire was willing to strike on women of Earth, this was bad and war would be in the discussion surrounding the incident, if there would be discussion. Gideon had no doubts with the Master of Soil, he would do what was right, and was now, by requesting Kaid to help the injured woman who were ruthlessly attacked by soldiers of Fire.
The young messenger now returned to pushing his foot through the dirt. Was he ashamed of delivering news? Gideons occupation was more than a messenger and he was not accustom to the ways of such. He felt obligated to know for his lady, and the message he had just heard was more important than the one he had delivered, or so he thought. He accepted Kaid decision as well, Earth needed aide and they had asked the right place. Gideon still could not get over the havoc Fire was causing, and on innocents none the less!
He spoke quickly so the two could return to where they were most needed. "Yes, I understand, thank you young man for saying more than what was necessary for you to say. I apologize for keeping you from leaving." He paused for a second and the turned to the healer. "Kaid, My lady will be waiting for you when you return. As you must, I need to leave as well." He mounted his white horse and rode into the forest, his next task would prove to be more than he had bargained for. Now to deliver his lady's message to Fire...

ooc: I feel horrible for making you guys wait. I hope I didn't put the plot at a standstill...
Sahe looked at Kaid as the blind healer said what he did, and with the words he quickly gathered his bareback mount's reins and pulled himself up with a sense of agility onto the geldings broad back. Ponies did have a tendency to gain wait didn't they? You wouldn't think so with the way they ran the young messangers from place to place. Sahe was only 12 but he had the messanger's experience since he was five. He'd graduate soon... he was looking forward to it. And yet, sometimes the idea of remaining a messanger thrilled him. One surely saw some adventure. It helped to get the blood pumping.
Oh well, back to the present.
Sahe situated his rump comfortably upon the castrated stallion's back. The horse fidgetted a little--it's mouth biting down on the bit--as it was expecting to move on, back to home. The warm comforts of a stall awaited it, and it could not wait to be back there. IT could smell moisture in the air... a storm was pasing in this direction -- coming from earth to land hear shortly.
Gripping the reins firmly, he suddenly heard the elfin man speak. He didn't meet the man's gaze. Sahe was slightly ashamed that he had given out information that he had not been ordered to give. A part of him reasoned: Sata didn't tell you not to tell. But it was hard to make himself believe it. The young messanger lad merely nodded when the warrior was done speaking and then looked expectantly at Kaid.
The sound of fading hooves reached his ears and he looked over to find the diminishing backside of the elf's mount. With a sigh of relief the young boy mentioned towards the healer: "Mister Kaid... sir? For the sake of haste, there is a mare in a village I just past that could be of use to you. I can tether her to my pony, or... well... there was a younger mare that was sound and large enough to carry us both. I could barter my pony and pay the difference for her. Satazian needs us to make as best time as we may."
Sahe looked down at the palomino pony. Sure there would be some sad goodbyes, but the animal wasn't really his. Just one of the ones from the stables that he had been assigned. Sata would understand the pony's dissapearance, but Sahe wasn't sure he'd be completely thrilled. It was hard to find good ponies now a days.
Mind wavering between indescisiveness... he decided to leave it up to Kaid. A part of him reasoned that there wer no other real option. Ponying a second horse could be difficult especially if the two animals formed a strong dislike for each other, and there also the factor of the dense undergrowth that threatened to trip up any careless rider and horse. A tether would merely get tangled within the brush. It seemed that getting a different horse was the only way to go.
"Sir?" Sahe stressed once more, to encourage a faster reply.

The tall man gripped his staff tighter as he listened intently to the options given to him. While the boy spoke, Kaid paid special subconscious attention to the change in the environment. With the sun’s intensity lessening and the cool breeze blowing with a subtle increase in strength, the aware healer concluded they had come to the evening with a storm eagerly approaching to join with the other waters of the land.
Immediately after Sahe finished listing off the choices and almost simultaneously with the boy’s “Sir?”, Kaid answered assertively with a voice meant for taking charge of a situation. We will go to the village. Purchase the first mare you mentioned. I can make due and still we will arrive quickly. I know how it feels to part with a partner. He referred to the subtle saddening tone in the lad’s voice when he had mentioned bartering his current pony. I can help her and as long as you stay ahead of me, I am able to navigate fairly well. The healer’s voice conveyed confidence they would arrive in Saverin in a timely fashion.
Turning his head, he faced towards his right so that Himiel could hear his parting words. I am sorry for leaving you so soon, but as I said before, I must be going. I hope to meet again perhaps in the Silver City. Kaid turned back to find the messenger and his horse with his searching hand. The healer found them without stumbling in the dirt and silt of the lake’s shores surrounding the small group. His head tilted upwards to project his voice in what he hoped the direction of the young boy. I can travel on foot to the village you encountered and I promise to keep up. I will follow you. He paused for a moment before assuring the lad he would be fine; after all, he had adapted to being blind.
Kaid hated to leave the elfin woman behind like this without even hearing her opinion of the whole situation. I wish you the best of luck, Lady Himiel and sincerely do I hope our paths cross again.
ooc: sorry for the weak post... I'm not sure really what to do right now... hope it works for you
