Kyra's hand roamed over the tall green grasses that were rubbing against her body. She was deep in thought, but when the sun was covered by a blanket of clouds, she quickly snapped out of her daydream as the field became darker. "Is someone near?" she asked softly to herself, she raised her hand and her fingers moved in a gentle motion. A small breeze was created and it blew quickly through the grass and any near by trees. Kyra's black and silver hair whipped in the breeze and her fox ears flattened against her head. A shiver went down Kyra's spine as she turned, "It got cold..." she muttered looking around as the sun began to peek out from behind the clouds. "Ryou are you still watching over me my brother?" she thought out loud. The breeze settled and the grass stood still once more as well as the branches of the nearby trees, and the clothes on her back, mostly her cloak became stiff once more. She walked over to the side of the grasses and sat down, relaxing her muscles, "No one is near, I'm alone out here, besides for my brother's spirit," she muttered. How she missed him it had been over a year and each day she got stronger, but it seemed the cut in heart got deeper. Kyra reached under her cloak and pulled out a pouch, the one that contained her flute. She pulled out the flute and laid it's pouch beside her. She pressed the wooden flute to her mouth and blew into it, her fingers danced upon the keys as a light and airy tune began to echo through the field.

Mint moved cautiously as the peculiar wind's sudden appearance remained fresh in her thoughts. She disliked being caught off guard and would not allow it to happen again.
"Such a foolish mistake could prove fatal", was the thought that ran through her mind as she gracefully folded her wings and made contact with the lush green earth. Breezes were abundant in this area but she couldn't shake the unsettling feeling this one had brought to this meadow so serene.
Her gowns settled around her fair body as she gained comfort to her new manner of movement. Travel would take twice as long this way, but she really had no destination in mind that she had to arrive at with haste, she thought. Mint kept her senses sharp as she neatly traveled across the lively meadow, enjoying every little aspect.
Stopping every now and again to prick a blade of grass from the earth to weave into her hair, Mint couldn't help but appreciate the tranquility this place brought her. The vast meadows were so lively, it almost seemed as if they were singing. Mint allowed herself to be charmed by the pleasant tune that almost seemed unreal. As the peaceful music reached her ears she began to move delicately in rhythm with it, her gowns flowing in the soft breeze, until sudden realizations hit her.
Mint's silky hair released the entwined grass that it had held captive as she turned bluntly to face the cause of the savory tune. Her deep blue eyes grew intense as she spotted the origin, and then softened when she realized it was only a pleasant looking fox girl. In her ethereal tone she gently called out.
"Salutations, fair maiden. May I ask where you learned to play such a divine song?"
Mint smiled blissfully as she waited for the radiant fox's reply, her whitish pink hair flowing with the winds gentle caress.

A light wind surrounded Kyra's body, her ears perked up hearing footsteps,"Someone's coming.." she thought, "The breeze I've made has been disturbed." She looked up as the delicate maiden spoke, her ears perked and listening even as her fingers danced among the keys of the flute. Kyra's lips parted from the wooden flute, "I play what is on my mind," she said, her tone seemed soft and distant. She sat the flute gently on her lap, as her eyes scanned over the girl that stood before her. "She's so pale," she thought, "like she dwells in the darkness." She placed a silver strand of hair behind her delicate fox ears, "What is someone like you doing out here?" she asked, her tone soft and distant. She wrapped her fingers around her flute and placed it back in it's pouch and then placed it back around her waist. She stood up dusting blue cloak off, the dirt made small sounds as it bounced off some leaves before landing in more dirt. A bird landed on her shoulder, it was a small chickadee that tweeted lightly she placed her finger to the bird and it hopped lightly on to her finger, it's tiny feet grasping her finger. The bird sang lightly before going over to Mint's shoulder and singing to her. Kyra's lips curved into a small smile at the small bird.

Mint took delight in the modest bird's melody as she took in what the brilliant fox had said.
"You...play what is on your mind," she said more to herself than the lovely maiden who had just spoke the same line. She couldn't help but be fancied by what the fox had said. Mint wondered what kind of thoughts could have been running through the lively fox maiden's mind that had had the impact to come through into such a captivating tune. As she thought this all over, she realized she had not responded to what the fox girl had summoned of her. Quickly, she regained her composure and the small bird that had resided on her shoulder took flight.
"Please forgive my fleeting mind, fair maiden, it was rather rude of me. An enigma like me was only passing through these tranquil fields, searching for a destination. For my own selfish reasons, may I ask the same of you? What is a charming fox like you doing in this place?"
Mint found it hard not to lean forward, as she was eager for the fox's response. It wasn't very often she saw an individual who lacked flight travel through these fields. It was a risk few took. As she waited another small breeze passed, ruffling her attractive obsidian feathers.

Kyra watched the bird for a little until the bird took flight again into the thick forest that was behind her. Kyra's silver tipped ears twitched forward as she absorbed the question that the fair woman asked. "I follow the wind on the tall grass, that is how my destination is determined, by the flow of wind..." Kyra answered simply, "May I ask what you are doing out here? The plains can be dangerous and with the risk of storms, not many travel out this way." Kyra's silver and black hair whipped around her face as a harsh wind passed by the two women. A storm was brewing and that was obvious by the look of the darker clouds that came in hovering over them and the sound of thunder made the ground quake slightly. The clouds began to cry a little as rain splashed onto the leaves and bounced off. Kyra's tender ears flattened against her head so that no water got in them. Kyra's eyes averted from looking at Mint to the sky as more rain splashed down on to her face. Her tail lightly sank down so that it was completely covered by her light blue cloak. She reached to the back of her neck and tenderly picked up the hood of her cloak and tossed it over her already dampened hair.

Mint stood breathless as the thunder's harsh cry started to diminish. She disliked storms such as these. It made it hard to take flight when the risk of being struck down by lightning lingered in the mind. She couldn't stand the waves of electricity flowing through the sky, for it kept her a prisoner of earth.
Her graceful robes started to cling to her moistened flesh as she stood there, frozen in thought. Streams of cool rain slipped down her cheeks as they fell from the strands of her hair. Mint re-introduced herself to reality as the thunder cried out once more. With haste, she answered the fox maiden.
"Pardon my bluntness, but as I've said before, I'm only passing through. These plains I am quite familiar with, so sudden storms are really no surprise. Would you care to accompany me to a small cave tucked away in the side of the mountain, fair fox? It is not far from here if you are able to fly or travel with haste. If not, then I must request we part ways. I've really no love for this electric weather."
Mint said all of this with distaste toward how rude she sounded. She did not mean ill toward the lovely fox, but as she spoke she could feel the lightning closing in; counting between the howls of thunder. She looked toward the undaunted fox urgently, waiting for her reply.
"If you wish, I could fly us there."
Mint could feel the water dance along her lush feathers as she stood there drenched, her gowns now fully saturated. She shivered with every cool breath of wind as she looked to the maiden. ((ooc: I'm going to a friends house for a bit. So, I won't be back until Saturday. I apologize for the inconvenience, and thank you for being patient with me. ^^ By the way, I love the way you rp! ))

Kyra's cloak plastered to her body from the heavy rains, she looked up, listening intently of the fair woman's request. "I can travel with haste, for I am no fox with wings. I prefer to keep my feet on the ground, but a shelter would be nice for a while, lead the way and I will follow you." A few strands of Kyra's silver and black hair were drenched, some of it was lightly dampened and it had frizzed lightly from the rain. Her icy blue eyes seemed to wander about to see if the rain would let up sometime, but from the darkness in the clouds, it looked as if it would be hours before the storm let up. Kyra prayed it would not get worse, because it was bad already. Tree branches were beginning to snap from the heavy downfall, and if it got worse, it would be the whole tree not just branches hitting the ground. "We must make haste as you said, because we are not safe in the trees neither the fields, for thunderstorms do their worst out here it seems." Even though Kyra's soft tone seemed distant there was a hint of fear in her tone, but she seemed to keep a strong will. ((OOC: That's fine, hope you have fun ^^, thanks for the comment, you're really good too. Sorry for the changing in the fonts, I'm kinda experimenting, I think I'll stick with teal for her thoughts and red for her speech. Hope to talk to you soon!))

Sensing the bit of fear evident in the fox maidens words, Mint tried to stay calm. Even though she had taken refuge in the dark cave many times before, it's location was still toilsome to find. She needed a clear mind.
The thunder seemed to call out from all directions as Mint tried to get her bearings. She did her best to close out everything around her as she strenuously searched for the crevice that rested on the side of the mountain. Surprisingly and much to her delight, it took but a moment to spot. Her delicate body shook with chill as she addressed the fair fox kindly.
"If you would, please follow me."
Mint was brief in waiting for a reply as she stretched her exquisite wings and swiftly left the earth. Feathers roughly fell to the damp meadow floor as she ascended above the tree tops, determined to make it to the cave before the weather got the best of her. She knew how dangerous it was to fly in such conditions, but she cared not to take the time to walk.
Lightning danced as Mint weaved in and out of the branches unfriendly reach. Every now and again she looked back hoping to catch a glimpse of the fox as she grew ever closer to their destination, hoping the fair girl was making it alright.
Her flight was strong, but any unkind condition could take its toll. Unable to fly through such violent winds any longer, Mint brought her wings close to her body as she achingly returned to earth. Her damp hair whipped her flesh as she managed to stumble into the much welcomed calmness of the cave. Taking a small breath, she glimpsed toward the entrance. ((OOC: Sorry if this entry isn't as good as my previous ones; I'm half asleep. Also, thank you for your kind compliment and I'm in the testing stages of my posting aswell. Good luck on finding your style!))

[glow=blue,2,300]Kyra watched as Mint took flight and the harsh winds lifted her up off the earth. Once she headed in one direction Kyra followed. She ran after Mint trying to keep up, but it was hard the rain pelted her face. Her normally fast speed began to slow down to a jog as she ran, because of the rain.[/glow] "It hurts," she thought to herself, "It's like getting hit in the face with rocks." [glow=blue,2,300]She whimpered slightly as a tree branch whacked her in the face, scratching her rather deep across her right cheek. She whinced lightly at the shock of pain that ran through her nerves, but shrugged it off, for the rain pelting against her face hurt more. She looked up, she was running behind Mint and would soon lose sight of her. She picked up speed even though that made the rain sting more she had to keep up otherwise she would be lost. She kept her pace and once Mint stopped, she gave a sigh of relief. She skidded across the muddy ground as she looked at the entrance of the cave. Mud soaked the bottom of her cloak and her soft shoes were coated in the thick earth. [/glow] "This it?" she asked, her soft tonehad a sense of relief. ((OCC: It works ^.^ and I think I'll stick with this font coloring))

Mint nodded in response, pleased that the fair maiden had made it to their destination with no serious harm. Sensing the relief in the soiled fox's words, she herself settled her nerves with a sigh.
After a moment, Mint gracefully walked to the back of the cave, her soaked gowns dripping cool liquid with every step. As she sat on a comfortable patch of grass in one of the corners she examined her well used refuge.
Mint loved this place, where she had always sought sanctuary from both the weather and the world alike. The cave was somewhat roomier than before, probably from the dripping waters that happily eroded away the far wall by the entrance, but just as comforting as ever. With a small spring in the very back, and the lush plants that were able to find life along the walls and among the floor, Mint enjoyed the enclosure. This place was her heaven.
Returning from her thoughts, Mint looked to the fox and released a harmonious laugh. The once lovely and fair creature was now mud splattered and frazzled. The lively fox's appearance reminded her of that of a small child's. The innocent look the ruffled fox possessed amused her. As Mint gently wiped a tear away, she called out to the divine maiden.
"I apologize for my sudden outburst, but your character has tickled my fancy. You carry about you the image of a small child after they have been out playing all day. If you wish, there is a spring that you may cleanse yourself in."
Mint smiled with delight as she lifted a fair finger in the direction of the enchanting springs fair waters.

[glow=blue,2,300]Kyra walked into the cave and pulled her cloak's hood over her head, to reveal her shaggy, frazzled hair. She wiped the small bit of blood that had leaked from her small open wound across her cheek.[/glow] "Damn tree branch.." [glow=blue,2,300]She followed after Mint, the cool water dripped off her cloak and splashed lightly onto the cave's gravel floor. She tried to comb through her hair that was knotty and frizzed. She whined slightly, but quickly stopped when she saw the spring and the green vegetation that surrounded it. Her eyes glistened slightly at the wonderful sight. The black and silver ears that sat upon her head turned when she heard Mint's light voice. She blinked slightly at Mint's comment. [/glow] "That's fine, I don't mind the comment. However I could wash up a bit, but it isn't the first time I've been covered in mud." [glow=blue,2,300]She went over to the spring and slid her cloak off her back and soaked it in the water, she stroked her cheek where the cut was and washed it lightly. She never flinched at the sting of the cut, and then she soaked the scarves that she had around her wrists and her hands that were covered with thick earth.[/glow]

Mint watched the lovely fox joyously. It had been a while since she had last felt glee, and she basked in this moment while she could, milking it for all it was worth. She appreciated the feeling the fox had brought her, and in turn wanted to treat the maiden with utmost kindness.
As she sat there, she thought about everything that had happened between them. It wasn't very much, but Mint grew to like the fox maiden in their short time together, even though she knew very little about her. Just as she thought this, she realized she didn't even know the maiden's name. With a bit of surprise she looked toward her with curiosity. Mint also took into realization that the girl had not caught wind of her name either. Her gowns were cool against her pale flesh and her hair dripped as she watched the spring water mix with the soil the fox had cleansed herself of. Giving into curiousity, she parted her lips.
"Delightful Fox, your name. May I ask your name?"
Said with a tone of inquiry, Mint wondered if the maiden would trust a stranger with her birth title. Looking childlike, she waited, marveling.

[glow=blue,2,300]Kyra's gentle hands worked lightly as she tried to get the soil out of the fibers of her cloak. Her ears perked up, not hearing a sound out of her companion and out of the corner of her eye she saw her staring at her.[/glow] "She's staring at me with such a intense, yet gentle look. Her wet clothes give off how pale, yet how elegant she looks."she thought. [glow=blue,2,300]She turned back to her now clean cloak that was now a darker blue, because of all the moisture it had retained. She turned to Mint hearing her speak and listened to her talk.[/glow] "Kyra, Kyra Hitomi," she answered lightly, "As well as you, I have no recognition of your name." [glow=blue,2,300]She turned back to resting her cloak lightly on a rock so that it would dry faster. She slowly began working her hands through her hair, to smooth it out. Her hands slowly and gently worked through it and her power over wind helped untangle some of the strands. She looked up at Mint for her answer.[/glow]

Kyra Hitomi, the name fluttered through her mind as she imprinted it into her memory. Mint's gentle lips delicately turned into a soft smile as she lifted herself from the greenery she had been resting on. Her damp wings made getting up somewhat difficult as her flowing gowns unharmoniously clung to the lush grass. Her frail body was brief to be weighed down as she made it to a proper standing position.
Outstretching her dusky wings, Mint vigorously flapped them as a way to release her onyx feathers of the moisture that held them weighted. Bringing them close once more, she delicately pushed her loose strands of unrested hair back into place as she gracefully turned to the maiden.
"Simply, my name is Mint."
She knew it wasn't as extravagant as the fox maidens name, but Mint had always been fond of her title, however simple.
As she stood there she took into recognition how lightly the rain's water fell against the rock's wall. Even though the liquid trickling through the numerous cracks of the cave seemed endless, she knew the unfriendly weather grew tired. Soon it would stop and she would have to be on her way, to where, she did not know nor care.
"Maiden Hitomi, if I may, have you a destination in mind for yourself?"
Mint was more than delighted to return to the cave during the storm, but she thought of how the fox probably had somewhere to be. Although unsure, Mint considered this event as an inconvenience to the maiden and her voyage. Half-heartedly she smiled, hoping Kyra wasn't annoyed by the happenings that had taken place.

You can call me just Kyra, I'm not use to being called by my last name. As for your question,I have no destination, I however, do not wander far from these lands. [glow=blue,2,300]Though Kyra's response seemed vague, that would be the only response she would give the fair maiden. Her reason for being her was of her own accord and she was not to be deterred from it. She turned back to the spring that was sitting serenely in the middle of the cave. She sat quietly, her hair fluttered down to her face. [/glow] I'm sorry for the awkward silence, I'm not use to company, I haven't had company for a long time. My mind wanders easily, and normally I have no one to snap me out of my constant daydreams. [glow=blue,2,300]Kyra's past haunted her, as she sat looking back at the small lake, a light mist surrounded her. It had somewhat of a shape of a person. It looked as if the mist's transparent mass was somewhat tangible as the "arms" of the mass wrapped lightly around Kyra's neck. It seemed to embrace her, before slowly starting to fade. Kyra shivered slightly, sensing the mass, but was not alarmed of it. [/glow]

Mint tilted her head slightly with a surprised look on her face. She found what Kyra said to be a little strange, but did not doubt her response. After all, everyone lived differently and Kyra must have had her own reasons to stay so close to these parts. Personally, she enjoyed traveling to different areas of the land. With a good draft and a bit of impulse, she would often go into the areas not belonging to those pledged to the wind goddess. Such actions brought her delight.
Mint smiled as her memories danced lightly in her mind before she realized something was not right. The feelings she had experienced in the fields shot through her like an arrow. Sharply, she looked about the cave, expecting something to be lurking in the shadows, but saw nothing. The presence she felt was unsettling for her. Not because she felt it was evil, but because it came from out of nowhere without warning. Her inability to sense it's coming frightened her. She disliked being caught by surprise, especially in a place so dear to her. This cave was her peace, but it had been shattered.
Mint's gowns flourished with her swift movement toward the cave's outlet. Her hair trailed in small wisps as she made her way to the outside world once more. She was greeted warmly by the sun's gentle touch against her skin and the scent of fresh rain amongst the grass. All these things she would usually take great pleasure in if it were not for her being lost in deep thought. As she traveled lightly through the grass the sweet smells tickled her nose and she thought.
~What is this? What is this thing that moves without detection? What would appear so suddenly in the area of my peace, and does the fox not sense its presence?~
With her last thought Mint remembered the maiden she had left so suddenly. Hesitantly, she looked back to the cave. She wanted to go back for Kyra, but she did not trust what had occurred in the peace that was once her heaven. She knew the maiden was unharmed, so her return seemed unnecessary.
~The maiden, Kyra, she would be better off without my company. For now, atleast, I'd probably be nothing but a nuisance. I shouldn't insist on staying with her for my own selfish reasons. Besides, it's not like I'll never see her again. Another time, we will bump shoulders. I hope.~
With her final thought, Mint spread her wings once more and aimed for the clouds. As she escaped the earth she left but a small remembrance of starless feathers in her flurry. Kyra was but a kind memory now.

"She's gone..." [glow=blue,2,300]Kyra lifted her head as the mist dispersed around her.[/glow] "No surprise, I'm too much of a loner, I don't exact have a welcome wagon. Her presence was nice though." [glow=blue,2,300]She relaxed against the rock, her mind wondering.[/glow] "I should let go of this land, the only reason I stay here, is because of Ryou. I can't keep his memory restrain me from leaving these lands." [glow=blue,2,300]After the rains had stopped and the sun had risen, Kyra went out of the cave. The dew soaked grass and the river near by was rushing through the trees. Kyra walked for hours before coming to a small place in the woods and kneeled down by a tree. There sat a grave for Kyra's brother.[/glow] "Ryou, I'm going to leave these lands after all these years. I love you and I'll come to visit you often, but I need to get away from these lands that bring back horrid memories. Wait for me in the heavens, dear brother." [glow=blue,2,300]She got up off the ground and began to walk towards the ends of the Winds' Territory.[/glow]
