The heat of the day ran wild through the lively fields as farmers bustled with activity in their developing crops. Amongst the hustle a lone child fled from the overbearing heat to the cool banks of a nearby river.
Nanako's tail twitched with provocation at the sight of every fish that cleverly glided by just out of reach. It was as if they knew she couldn't get them if they stayed in the fastest part of the river, someplace she dare not venture for fear of being washed away. How tricky they were to tease her like that! Nonetheless, she found enjoyment in this game of cat and mouse, played with these silvery little creatures. It wasn't often she found entertainment like this.
Her eyes shined with laughter beneath the veil of her bangs as she continued to pursue the swift little devils through the cool waters of the lake. Ears perked, she wanted so very much to catch one. The pattern in which they swam was incredibly alluring, with their quick jerks and switching of directions here and there. It must have been her feline instinct that made her want to pounce these beasts. The feeling of excitement it gave her was almost too much to handle.
Shamelessly letting her laughter drift about the river, she was able to catch a single fish that had played into getting cornered in the shallows. Her clothes dripped as she left the water and ran to a nearby tree who's shade sheltered a small stuffed cat adorned in bandages, leaning against a white tin beside a peculiar looking staff. With a smile that showed her contentment, she happily thrust her hands out to show the toy her prize.
"Look, Rumi! I caught one!!!"
Letting herself slip to the ground with a small thud, Nanako began to ready the fish for herself and her plushy little friend.

Skylar’s hand grazed her forehead underneath her bangs to wipe the sweat that was beginning to form on her forehead. She gently treaded along the entrance of the woods, before walking into them for shelter from the rising sun. As she stepped, Skylar picked up the end of her dress so that it wouldn’t catch on any of the brush that was scattered upon the ground. As she tried to get through the thickest of the brush, she gently pushed the branches and other limbs out of her way with her hand, careful not to get grabbed by the limbs, however her hair was grabbed every once and a while. Once she had got out of the thick underbrush, she looked at the forest around her, not much but trees, but she could hear a river running over the land and a young girl’s laughter.
The young woman made her way over to the river, careful not to make much noise as her feet gently stepped on the forest floor. Her chest heaved a heavy sigh when she looked down at her feet, she was adorn in white and it wasn’t the easiest to camouflage in such an attire. She shook her head as she placed her hand against a tree and leaned against her hand as she began to free her hair of the twigs that had entwined themselves in the strands. She then looked down at her dress and began to pick out any burs that velcroed themselves to the fabric. She stood straight when she was done and looked at the glassy river that was ahead of her as she walked she heard the young girl’s voice speaking. She walked a little further ahead and then peeked out from behind a tree to see the young cat girl. She smiled at her youthful innocence, the same that the children had in her old village. She looked at who ‘Rumi’ exactly was and figured out that it was the worn plushy cat that sat next to her.
Skylar gently stepped out from the shelter of the tree and looked over at the young girl as her lips curved into a small smile. Skylar spoke in a shy voice as her lips moved to her words.
“I can hear your giggles, you must be having fun over here.”

Working ever intently on her fine catch, Nanako had failed to notice the arrival of a stranger. Her ears twitched with acknowledgment of words directed her way as she sat firmly with Rumi against the hard bark of the large tree.
“I can hear your giggles, you must be having fun over here.”
Nanako lifted her head to see who had spoken so timidly to her. Looking at the newcomer she let her eyes wander over this new presence as she lost interest in what she was doing. The one who had appeared with gentle words had been a girl. Awe showed in Nanako's expression as she took in what was before her. The girl had the prettiest dress she had ever seen adorned in ribbons with lovely ripples adding to the flow of the fabric. Aside from her wardrobe Nanako found the girls lovely green eyes and frosty blue hair to be very attractive. With a small but pleasant smile to add to the girls appearance, she found the girls image to be very simple and calm, but not in the least lacking in beauty.
Sparkley eyed, Nanako set aside the fish and jumped up with Rumi. Clutching his fuzzy torso against her still damp chest Nanako left her goods and ran up to the pretty girl with enthusiasm. How fortunate she was to come into contact with such an exquisite person! Youth showing in her manner Nanako smiled as she looked into the girls eyes for several moments before breaking the silence. Excitement in her voice she sang out her words.
"Hi! What's your name? My name is Nanako! This is my best friend, Rumi. What are you doing out here? Are you all by yourself? Are you playing? Would you like to be friends?"
Overflowing with happiness, Nanako clutched Rumi tighter as she silently waited for a response.

Emerald eyes gazed at the young girl as she was looked over by the young girl’s crimson eyes. Skylar was taken back as the young girl grabbed her plushie and ran up to her and began to run off questions as rapidly as she could think of them. Skylar gave a slight smile as Nanako released a lull in her questions, enough for Skylar to think through all the questions. Skylar’s knees bent as she kneeled down so that she was eye level with Nanako.
“Hello Nanako and Rumi.”
Skylar said acknowledging the plush cat as she patted the black toy on the head. She then gazed at Nanako to answer the rest of her questions.
“My name is Skylar and I was just walking around the lands to get away from my village. No, I wasn’t really playing, just walking around by myself. And I wouldn’t mind being your friend, did I get all your questions?”
Skylar warmly smiled at Nanako and then looked over the cat girl’s body. She saw the fish that was still had a silvery tone to its scales, meaning it was freshly caught. The dampness on the cat girl’s clothes also implied that the fish was freshly caught.
“Did you have fun fishing?”
Skylar asked giggling softly. Nanako reminded her of the little girls back in the village. How they would giggle and coo when they talked to each other. They would always show off their new dresses whenever their mothers made them one and kept each other company when they went through hard times. Skylar slowly came out of her daydream as she gazed softly at Nanako to see what the young ambitious girl would do next.

Ember lept from one tree to the next, trying to ignore her blurring vision and the pain coming from her left leg. The wound the man had left was deep and had not stopped bleeding, even as Ember's fox demon power was healing it. Ember cursed the man silently, also cursing herself for not noticing he had a blade in his hand before she attacked him. It must have hit a big vein, and had destroyed a lot of muscle tissue. Or even worse, it could be infected.
With that last thought Ember shakily landed on a large limb on the edge of the forest. Her long, flaming red hair spilled over her shoulders to hide her blazing red eyes, which now held a glaze look of suffering and pain. Blood continued to drip from the wound, spilling onto her dark brown pants and onto the tree. Ember steadied herself, then sat down on the limb, resting her head up against the tree. The bark felt ruff on her skin, but it was better then trying to support herself any longer. Taking a deep breath, Ember relaxed her mind, letting her extra sensitive nose tell her about the area around her. The closest scents were of two small females, of little importance. Not to far away there was a road, bustling with mortals. Joy, she was not in the mood to deal with mortals, especially mortal men.
Ember had had many run ins with males, and hated the lot of them. They had caused her nothing but pain. Starting with her father, abandoning her because she was not a son. Then the man who had enslaved her, giving her the mark of a flame on her forehead. He had pain for that with his life, taken by his own swords which Ember still carried on her waist. The last men she had met she had killed for no reason, except for the simple pleasure of it. He had gotten his revenge though, and had given her this dang wound.
Ember closed her eyes and placed one clawed hand on her forehead. Her skin burned at her touch, she had a dang fever. Just her luck. Ember opened her eyes, and her vision spun, she could make out a river through the leaves, and grass below her. The sound of people talking came to Ember's fox ears, must have been those to kids. Slowly Ember closed her eyes again, letting out a soft groan as she did. Why in the world had she let herself get into the mess? She should have stopped ages ago and tended to her wound, and now she was in trouble.
Slowly the last of her energy faded and Ember felt herself slip from the branch. Down she fell, crashing through the branches as they teared at her skin, clothes and hair. She fell like a rock, falling to the ground with a thump. Branches and leaves fell onto her as Ember slowly turned her head, her blurring vision making out the two kids she had scented about ten feet away. "Dammit." She muttered to herself as she was slowly taken by blackness and she felt herself close her eyes. Now she was in trouble.

It was kind of the stranger to lower herself to eye level, a gesture that was very much appreciated because of her small size. Nanako's glee took form into sound and she giggled as the pretty girl patted Rumi in greeting before introducing herself.
Nanako stood intently as the girl named Skylar continued to provide answers to her many questions. Answers that only brought more curious thought into her mind. Did Skylar want to get away from her village because of the heat? The cool temperature that came with the river was what attracted Nanako herself. That, and the promise of fish and cool water to play in. Also, wasn't walking by herself lonely? Nanako didn't like being alone, not that she ever was. Rumi was always there with her so she never felt the harsh grasp of loneliness. Now that Skylar was her friend, she wouldn't be alone anymore either!
Nanako hopped up twice with satisfaction before answering.
"Yes! You got them all."
Looking at Skylar she noticed the girls attention was briefly drawn to something back by the tree she had just left before it was directed towards her again. Curiosity anew, she attempted to look back before this action was cut off by Skylar's next words.
“Did you have fun fishing?”
Memory of the fish she caught made excitement swell in her chest. How could she forget? Nanako hopped backwards and let her body spin by the earth's next contact before prancing back to the shade of the tree. Shifting Rumi to her left arm Nanako leaned down to grasp her prize by the thick center of its tail. Turning to Skylar once more with the fish in hand she held it up for the woman to see. Nanako released a spirited laugh, pleased that the woman was here to see her much prided catch, a catch that Rumi had already witnessed. Her answer evident in her actions she called out.
"Yes! A lot of fun! Would you like to come see what I caught?"
Nanako giggled to herself as she stood with her prize. She liked this woman very much so she was more than willing to share her excitement. Standing patiently her ears twitched with new sound. Directing her attention to this new activity Nanako lowered her arm as she caught sight of what appeared to be a fleshy lump.

Skylar watched as the young girl practically skipped to her catch of the day. She grabbed the scaly, slimy water dweller by it’s thick tale. Once asked if she would like to see the creature close up, the maiden’s head nodded gently. She took a couple steps towards the young girl when something else got her attention. Skylar turned her head to the sound of the tree boughs snapping underneath pressure. She saw a body fall from the surrounding trees and land with a ‘thump’ on the hard ground. She watched as some of the broken twigs and branches fell on to the lifeless body.
Skylar’s emerald eyes widen at the sight as she ran over to the lifeless body, kneeling down on the earth. She gently turned the body so that the girl laid on her back. Skylar gazed over her and picked out the worst wound: the one on her left leg. Skylar grimaced at all the blood as she placed both of her hands over the wound. She looked up at the girl’s face to see if she would wake. She then looked back at what she was doing, her hands began to glow with a teal aura. Skylar’s eyes gazed at the wound as it began to rapidly heal itself and the skin grew together.
Skylar then retracted her hands and looked over the girl’s body once more, there was nothing but scratches and scrapes left on her body, that Skylar could see. Her eyes rested on the girl’s face, she looked no older than Skylar herself, but Skylar knew why. She looked at the two fox ears that were in the midst of the girl’s fiery red hair and the long claws that were on her slender fingers. Skylar shook her head, she was getting of tract as she leaned in and placed her hand gently against the girl’s forehead.
“She has a fever, she’s hot to the touch.”
Skylar turned back to Nanako and looked at the young girl and smiled. By the way the young girl had bandaged up Rumi and the medical tin she carried, she figured that Nanako had some knowledge of herbs.
“Nanako, do you know the herb that cures fevers?”
Skylar’s voice was calm as she looked at the young cat girl for her answer. If Nanako didn’t, this would be a learning experience for her, since Skylar did know how to use herbs, but if she did know, then Nanako was very wise for a girl her age.

Ember floated in and out of the darkness, trying to stay awake. She herd the sound of footsteps, and scented someone kneel next to her. Two hands were placed on her leg, and Ember felt a wonderful cooling sensation. It spread through the wound, taking away the pain and healing it. Wait, healing it.
Ember slowly opened her eyes. Above her was a blur of colors, not taking any real form. She gave a groan, the headache was still there, thats for sure. But no that the wound was gone, Ember felt a lot better. She closed her eyes tightly, then opened them for a second time. Slowly the world righted itself, and Ember could see a young girl kneeling over her.
Ember was having luck today, she seemed to have passed out right next to two healer kids. Slowly Ember pulled herself up so she was resting on her elbows, and looked down at her leg. The wound the dagger had left was completely gone, not even a scar. Ember felt a smirk form on her face. "Your pretty good for someone so young, never seen a wound healed that well." She turned her bright red eyes back to the girl, and nodded her head. "I'm in your debt."
Ember may not have been much of a people person, but she also hated it when someone did something for her and she did nothing in return. If these two were male, she would probably repay her debt by not killing them. But they weren't, so she would have to find something else to do. But she put that aside for now, she was in no condition to be repaying anyone. Slowly sitting up, she turned her attention back to the two kids. "Name's Ember," She said kindly, raising a head to her throbbing forehead. "And if you don't mind me asking, do you have anything for fever as well?"

Nanako was surprised by the swiftness in Skylars actions as she moved over to the origin of the sound. Confusion filled her thoughts as she watched her turn over the lifeless form. Had a person fallen out of the tree? Nanako had only seen the aftermath of twigs and leaves plummeting to the earth after the sound of several crashes. Setting the fish aside Nanako clutched Rumi to her chest as she slowly left the shade of the tree for a better view of the excitement. What soon caught her gaze startled her.
Amongst flesh and blood were Skylars hands emitting a blueish light over the left leg of a stranger. Upon further inspection the flesh of the severed leg appeared to be forming together once more into a state of perfection as if there had never been a wound at all. Skylar had healed the stranger but not in a way Nanako was familiar with. The healing techniques that were taught to her by her much loved keeper consisted of powders, liquids, and bandages derived from various plants and trees. Never had her keeper used blue light from his hands to heal ouchies instantly. Nanako's thought and awe were shattered by Skylars next words.
"She has a fever, she's hot to the touch. Nanako, do you know the herb that cures fevers?"
What? Was she speaking to her? Nanako had failed to notice Skylar acknowledge her whilst she was still in awe by her new friends ability. Letting her words run through her head once more she was pleased she knew the answer. She recalled two herbs that helped to remedy fevers, Tansy and Purple Willow. Her keeper had been a village doctor so it was common knowledge to know the concoction that helped to bring down a fever. The village they had lived in was abundant in both children and elderly that would occasionally develop such a sickness. With a triumphant smile she called out.
"Yes! I know very well!"
Without waiting for a response Nanako turned tail and ran back to the spot that sheltered her tin. If she remembered correctly, she had a few viles of already concocted liquid from a purple willow left, but possessed no tansy at this time. Shifting Rumi to her left arm she grabbed the tin handle with her right hand before returning to the two once more. Upon return Nanako was surprised to see activity in the once lifeless form.
"Name's Ember. And if you don't mind me asking, do you have anything for fever as well?"
She hadn't realized before, but the stranger had been a fox girl. Eyes never leaving the crimson fox Nanako leaned to the ground and undid the tin's latch before shuffling around the contents inside. Grabbing a vile, she offered it to the interesting fox with a smile.

Skylar’s emerald eyes fell upon the girl as she began to awake from her slumber. She watched as she pushed her body up and gazed at her leg and the wound that was no longer existed. Skylar listened patiently as she spoke to her.
"Your pretty good for someone so young, never seen a wound healed that well."
Skylar looked at the girl, slightly angered, but she kept it hidden. Though she was young for a human, Skylar was mature and could handle herself making her older than she seemed. Thoughts began to tumble in her head as she looked at the girl.
“She has to be from fire, she bares a flame mark upon her head and her looks. Red hair and red eyes aren’t a normal occurrence in an Earth being, and she doesn’t seem like a Wind or Water, however this maybe because my priestess skills are heightening...”
Skylar sighed, she didn’t believe in the sides of the war, but she didn’t completely trust this girl, something about her aura made the young priestess feel uneasy. Skylar looked back at Nanako when she heard her chime in that she knew the herb. Skylar’s attention was quickly brought back to the once unconscious girl as she told her name and asking for the herb that cured fevers.
“Ember? That then makes my suspicions concrete.”
She watched as Nanako went back to her medical tin for what she needed. Before she came back with the vile, she turned to the girl.
“Not that it’s any of my business, but if I may imply, why would an ally of fire be in earth territory? With all that I have gathered, it seems you are of fire, unless my intuition has begun to decline.”
She awaited an answer as Nanako scurried back up to the two. She had a vile in her small hands and offered it to their new found acquaintance.

o.o.c. Thank you. =3 What a curious event. Nanako hoped the liquid she gave the fiery fox would help to suppress her fever as she returned the empty vile back to her tin. Not that she would know. It was a flawless concoction, but the fox had chose to leave their company before the results became evident.
Nanako sighed deeply. She had wanted to know more about the fox that sported a flame upon her forehead. She was something new to Nanako's eyes, having hair and sight that held the passionate color of fire. She had met some foxes in her lifetime, which wasn't very long, but the one she had just met was similar to them in no way. She wanted to be friends with the unique fox, but the opportunity never arose. Nanako hadn't uttered a word. It was a swift departure indeed.
Raising from the tin Nanako became chipper once more. With Rumi in hand she twirled to face Skylar with excitement. She may not have been able to become friends with the fox, but she still had her companion, Rumi, and her new friend, Skylar.
Looking at the girl, the image of the healing blue light fluttered into Nanako's mind once more. What was it? Nanako had failed to understand anything about it except that it healed flesh wounds; but what else could it do? Could it do anything else? Although she was still just a young child, complex thoughts ran through her head. She was ignorant when it came to the ways of the world and the nature of people, but the techniques of healing she had a better grasp on. Although she was still learning, she picked up quick on new techniques that had been taught to her by her keeper. Partly because she wanted to please him, and partly because healing the physical discomforts of others had become her passion. She knew the blue light was something she could not learn, but she still wanted to know how it worked. She clutched Rumi to her chest once more before she made her way over to Skylar. Standing by her side, Nanako's thirst for knowledge could not be contained. Excitement in her eyes, she gave a small tug to the fabric of Skylars dress before releasing her questions.
"The pretty blue light; could you tell me what it is? I don't understand it."
Although she felt like dancing around with glee, she kept an intent gaze on Skylar as a way to show her serious interest.

The young priestess sat kneeling upon the forest floor. She attentively awaited the fire fox to answer, but was only greeted with her getting to her feet and fleeing to the thick forest. She released a heavy sigh; her question would remain unanswered as she her emerald eyes watched the fleeing fox. Maybe she offended her or something, but whatever the case it wouldn’t matter.
Skylar gazed at her feminine hands that had performed their amazing ability without fault. She gazed over to her side feeling the fabric of her dress tighten as it was pulled. She looked to find Nanako’s tiny hand grasping tightly to the fine fabric. Skylar’s snowy white hair outlined her porcelain face as she turned to face the small cat girl that began to ramble out questions. Her lips curved into a smile as she parted them to speak to the questions that had been pressured upon her.
“I’m a priestess so I have powers of healing. It’s simply spiritual power that emanates from my hands and it can heal anything from flesh wounds to broken bones. If I place all my will into it I can even heal internal bleeding, but it drains me of my energy almost completely. It can also be used as a weapon against enemies as well.”
Skylar held out her palm in front of Nanako. Her fingers were slightly curved into her palm as energy began to filter from her fingertips. The energy swirled, as it became a more tangible orb of energy. Resonating in her palm, she placed her hand a little lower for Nanako to get a better glance at it. With her other hand, she had her index finger out from the rest of her fingers as it waved back and forth signaling to the young girl not to touch it.
After a few moments Skylar closed her palm around the glowing orb making it disappear. Then opened her fingers from her palm to show that there was nothing there.
“See? It’s quite useful energy, is it not?”
She asked shyly, her lips still curved in the kind smile.

This girl was a priestess? Nanako had only heard stories of such beings. Magnificent they were with the different ways they used their spiritual power, through willingness and at times some form of sacrifice; something she had only thought could happen in a story. If Skylar was really a priestess, evidence diminishing the cat's doubt, then Nanako considered herself very fortunate to be able to atleast meet someone like her. With this thought she squeezed Rumi tighter as she smiled to herself for a moment, eyes clamping with glee. Looking to Skylar once more, she had chose to share a glimpse of her power.
Nanako leaned in to get a better look at the light that was forming in Skylars palm, something she was not willing to miss. As her hand moved lower the vision of the orb became more alluring in beauty. Nanako felt herself being drawn to it like a moth to the flame, but ceased before she ever attempted to touch the energy with the gesture of warning Skylar gave her. She had said she could also use such light as a weapon against enemies, so maybe it was best that she not touch it aside from the fact that it was something that belonged only to the priestess. Nanako was thrilled enough just by the oppertunity to see it.
With that thought the priestess closed her delicate hand and diminished the orb. Nanako was saddened by its disappearance, but due to the needs of such an orb, she wished never to see it again for everyone's sake.
“See? It’s quite useful energy, is it not?”
Nanako partially agreed. It did seem more useful than bandages and binding that held no promise of a flawless outcome, but the priestess had said it drained much of her energy. Was it really worth it, or was this just another willingful sacrifice made by such beings? Nanako was unsure, but she smiled at the priestess anyways.
"Very much so, yes."
It had been the priestesses choice to use it, so it must not have been so bad.
With her question answered Nanako stepped away from the priestess and returned to her tin. Shifting Rumi to her left as she leaned down to pick up the little box, she regained composure and returned to the cool shade of the tree. With her clothes now fully dry Nanako was grateful it wasn't as hot as it had been earlier. Her prize fish, however, had become a meal for the flies in all the excitement.
"Gah! No! My fishy! Rumi, look what has happened..."
Disappointed and unwilling to touch the infested lump of meat, Nanako carefully gathered her things. Placing the staff behind her back in a convenient strap, she grabbed up Rumi and her tin. There was really no point in remaining by the fish. Watching the corpse as if it were about to attack, Nanako took a few steps backward before turning fully and making her way to where the priestess was. Smiling, she chimed.
"Do you have plans?"

Skylar’s gaze followed Nanako as she trekked back to her medical tin. Her emerald eyes then fell upon the surrounding forest. She gazed at the way the sunlight highlighted the delicate leaves on the trees. The trees swayed with an oncoming breeze, but then return to their once stiff position. Skylar, caught up in the serene setting, was startled when she heard Nanako cry out to her plush friend.
The young priestess forced herself up on her feet and hurried across the leaf covered ground. Her feet lost traction slightly, but she caught her footing as she skidded to a stop. A small smile crossed her lips as she looked at the scene. Poor Nanako, all her hard work had gone down the tubes. The fish that the young feline girl tried so hard to get was now a feast for the flies. Skylar swatted a few of the stray, bothersome insects away with a small flick of the wrist. The insects stumbled from being knocked away, but soon their way over to the infested scaly animal.
Skylar watched as Nanako began to gather her things and then gazed at the fish that was slowly deteriorating from the flies. She then turned to face Skylar and spoke with an excited tone. Skylar thought for a moment, her only goal was to get away from her village, but that situation was about half a year ago. She began to think she really didn’t have any plans. She was just wondering about the earth territory, maybe it was time for change. Skylar released a soft sigh and then spoke softly.
“No, I don’t have plans, do you?”
She inquired upon Nanako. She was wondering if Nanako had plans and wished for Skylar to go with, or maybe they would decide on going somewhere.

After a moment of silent thought Nanako's ears perked in response to Skylars small sigh. Distress? She shifted her weight from left to right in a playful manner as she listened closely to Skylar's chosen words.
“No, I don’t have plans, do you?”
Letting what the priestess said run through her mind she was both a little excited and disappointed by her response. No, she didn't have plans, but she wanted to stay with Skylar if that was okay. It was a safe idea to travel with a companion, and Skylar had been very kind to her. Also, she was a healer like Nanako; maybe the cat would be able to pick up some knowledge if they were to travel together. Thinking this through, she was struck by another possibility; would she be an inconvenience? Her face went grim.
Although Nanako would benefit greatly by traveling with the priestess, she couldn't help but think of herself as nothing but a tagalong. She couldn't fight, she wasn't a top rate healer, she couldn't even keep a fish safe from a flock of flies. All Nanako could offer was companionship, but would that be enough for Skylar to accept her as a traveling partner?
Nanako ceased to shift back and forth as she looked at Skylar with worry in her eyes. Would it be a selfish request to ask if she could go with her to where ever it was she planned on going to next? Would she hold Skylar back? Thoughts like these strangled the young cat's voice. It was times like these that made her grateful no one could read her thoughts. She wanted to request Skylars future company, but was shamed by her greed. What could she say?
She squeezed Rumi close to her chest with a small wince as the cool metal of the tin touched her skin, and let her gaze fall to the ground beneath her. She was not selfish. She couldn't do it. She couldn't ask.
"I have no plans."

The young priestess adorn in white gazed at Nanako as she shifted her weight upon her tiny legs. She was nervous, Skylar could tell by her small actions. The way that she shifted the weight of her tiny body to each of her legs or how she clutched her plush cat Rumi closely to her chest. The tone in her small voice allowed Skylar to come to the conclusion that she was indeed nervous, possibly scared as she averted her gaze to the ground.
“I have no plans.”
Skylar gave Nanako a weak smile, was Nanako worried that Skylar would depart from her? She kneeled down so that only her right knee rested against the soft ground. Resting her left arm upon the thigh of her left leg as she leaned in towards Nanako. The emerald eyes that Skylar had gazed into Nanako’s innocent red eyes. She leaned in, placing a motherly like kiss upon the top of the girl’s forehead, just like how she did with her village’s children. Leaning back, Skylar gave a sweet smile.
“Then why not let us decided where we want to go together?”
The tone was sweet and soft as she spoke. Nanako obviously didn’t want to part with Skylar and Skylar didn’t want to part with Nanako. This was the first time Skylar had a sense of home with her. The little children of the village that she cared for were about Nanako’s age, some younger and this was what she didn’t want to part with. The thought of having someone that had the innocence of those children was something that she wished for, for those months she was on her own. Skylar’s heartfelt gaze settled on the little girl in front of her awaiting for her decision.

Nanako's ears perked forward as the gentle priestess graced her with a kiss, a kiss that reminded her of the loving gestures her keeper had always given her before his frail body had fallen to illness. An illness, despite his skill, even he could not fully cure. It was a kiss that held some parental love, but it jerked Nanako's heart strings. Was this goodbye? Looking at the priestess, her tears dried before ever escaping as her gaze was met with a smile.
“Then why not let us decided where we want to go together?”
The kindness of her words were like sugar as Nanako's worries were dispersed. But did she speak truthfully? Nanako smiled, hope diminishing doubt.
"Do you mean it?"
She didn't need an answer for this question because she didn't believe Skylar spoke stories. Jumping backward, Nanako spread her arms and spinned, Rumi's paw safely clasped in her own. Her happiness overwhelmed even herself as she thought of all the fun things they could do together. Skylar had accepted her, but where would they go? She didn't care. She would be among friends, so anywhere would suit her fancy. However, Skylar had requested they decide together, so Nanako had to give some suggestion.
Stopping with her back to the priestess, she tilted her head with an expression of thought as she grasped her right wrist with her left hand behind her. Rumi hung from the fingers of her right hand as the cat girl teetered back and forth. Where would she like to go? She hadn't given much thought to the subject. On her own, she would have continued to wander, but she had a companion now. Where did Skylar want to go? Gaze returning to the priestess behind her, Nanako's words were clear over her shoulder.
"Anyplace is fine with me. Where would you like to go?"
With Skylar as her company, she would go anywhere. This thought made her smile.

Skylar giggled softly at Nanako’s impulse question. The young girl nodded causing her white hair with a hue of blue to slid down along her neck as it shifted over her shoulders.
“Of course would I lie?”
She giggled softly, but did so politely as her hand hovered in front of her smile. Then thoughts began to filter into her head. Nanako’s innocence would allow her to go any where in Algëasia, because who would be cruel enough to hurt a little girl? Skylar’s distaste for the war might get in her in trouble if she crossed those that the gods and goddesses had appointed to rule the territories. Due to her distaste for the war, she was slightly disloyal to Borran, her own god.
Though, this disloyalty was also an advantage in some cases. Skylar could wander about the lands and not be question of her origin from the lands of Earth. She released a heavy sigh. Technically they could wander anywhere they wished. Skylar didn’t pose a threat unless she was attacked first and if that was the case, well, the attacker brought that upon themselves.
She shook her head tossing her hair about. She was getting off of her train of thought a stop early. Getting back on, she came to the conclusion that she and Nanako posed no threats to any land and could go anywhere. She gazed over at Nanako.
“Well I can’t really think of any place to go...Nanako, surely being so young you’ve heard stories of the lands beyond our own Earth territories. What place interests you the most? Or maybe there is someone you wish to see beyond this forest? Name something, I’ll follow your lead, because I think the youngest should make the decision.”

o.o.c. ~ I PMed you.
So it was up to her? She would be the one to decide? Had Skylar really trusted her enough to choose their next destination? Nanako smiled at the priestesses decision. Although the cat would have been pleased to go to the most terrifying of places with Skylar as her company, she basked in this new excitement. It was her that would get to choose!
Skylar had been right on the spot when she implied that Nanako had heard stories of distant lands. Memories of her keeper laying her to rest and sharing with her his experiences and journeys rushed back to her mind. He had spoke of so many new places that she had not even thought existed. It had made her eager to travel, but he had been to sickly to take her anywhere. All he could offer her were stories of magnificent places and the promise that she would one day journey to them on her own. But he had been only half right. She would follow his stories to new places, but she would not be alone. Smiling at the priestess, she had Rumi and Skylar to keep her company. But where was it she wanted to go!?
Nanako shook her head before dropping to the ground in utter confusion. Setting Rumi to rest in her now crossed legs, she gently grasped her ankles in thought. It had been The Silver City that she had wanted to visit the most when she was younger. She still remembered her awe at her keepers description of the beautiful home of the Elvin race. A beauty, she thought, only her keeper could possess. Because even when pale and thin in bed, she considered him an oddity that still managed to take her breath away.
Stories of the runes that lay in The Valley of Stones had also been something that Nanako found interest in. Her keeper had held in a small book case many artifacts that had come from the runes. Mainly just colorful rocks and an old broken pot, but he considered them as valuable as precious stones. He described the place to have a very majestic feel.
Among many other areas she had heard of, The Shepherd's Fields was another that had stood out. There was no landmark that made it great, or race that graced it's land, but his description of it had stuck with her. It was a place, he said, he often liked to go to to remember the past. It was a comfortable area where one could sit for hours and just think and relax. Without going there, she had liked this place. She believed it to be the one she wanted to visit first. If it was alright with Skylar, of course. Releasing her ankles, Nanako grabbed Rumi and rolled backward into a standing position. Running over to Skylar, her ears and tail perked as she stopped before her.
"Have you heard of The Shepherd's Fields? Can we go there?"

“Shepherd’s Fields? I’ve heard of it, that sounds like a nice place to start...”
Skylar muttered softly thinking about it. Nanako had gone for those lands not claimed by any of the four elements. Which was fine with her, at least Nanako hadn’t chosen the Cursed Waters, but the swamps would repel anyone away. The Valley of Stones was another Uncharted Region that had peeked Skylar’s interest as she thought of the regions. She gazed down to her white heeled boots that were slightly covered by her flowing white dress with blue trims. Not the best foot wear to wear while walking about the small mountain range. If they went there, she would need to go barefoot, or find a pair of more useful boots. The caves were something Skylar didn’t have much interest in looking about. Hidden dangers hid in the caves and along ridges, not something a young priestess wanted to deal with.
Skylar looked at Nanako somewhat surprised with her answer. She would have guessed that she would want to go where the land was governed. The land of water was suppose to be the land of beauty and that was a fact for Skylar had gone there once before when she was little. The lands of water were just like the element, it had the cleanest water and clear skies. Fire was a land she would want to avoid. The barren and heated lands were something to avoid, especially with Nanako being so young. She wouldn’t have a fun time out there. Wind was another land that had beauty within its borders and would be somewhere nice to visit.
Skylar looked at Nanako and gave her a nod at her choice.
“Yes, let’s go to Shepherd’s Fields...”

Did she mean it? Did she really want to go to there? Out of all the places, Nanako knew she had picked an average one. It had not the beauty of the water or wind nations, or the excitement the fire nation held. It was a simple and calm place, but Skylar had had nothing to say against her decision. She giggled before evolving her feelings into words.
"Alright!"
Nanako danced around Skylar for a moment before running back to the tree that still shaded the remnants of a once fine fish. Her delicate nose scrunched at the sight of the fly eaten corpse as she made sure she had gathered all her things. She didn't want to forget anything. Searching the spot, she smiled as she came to the conclusion that she had everything.
They had a destination. They were going to the Shepherd's Fields. Leaving the tree, she returned to Skylar's side. How fortunate she considered herself. Not only was she traveling to a spot her cherished keeper had spoke so fondly of, but she had a newfound friend to go with her. Giving Rumi a swift hug, she released an energetic laugh. She couldn't wait any longer, the excitement was too much. Grabbing the priestesses hand, she gave it an earnest tug forward as she smiled.
"Let's go!"
