Name: Mae Ri Ella Maquis
Gender: Female
Race: Chimera
Corner Preferance: Water
Age: 12-14, by appearance
Description: A young child touched with the development of puberty, Mae Ri's celestial blonde hair has cascaded behind her, dancing in whisps as she walks, convering her entire back, for as long as her existance has been known. It seems to glow in the later hours of the day. A glow that only makes her deep blue eyes all the more soulful. The color of deep ocean waters, the very essence of life glitters in those eyes. Sometimes they flood may with tears, but it seems impossible that they would burn with hatred. Those eyes embody the grace of her whimsical notions while an innocent, maybe naiieve, smile continuiously dances upon her lips. But there is something about those two orbs of blue seem to penetrate the soul. A child's innocence knows no bounds.
In shape, however, Mae Ri is a frail child, thin and agile, but she holds immense power deep within the hidden corners of her heart. Strength for Mae Ri does not come in the form of warrior skills. The primitive, instinctual emotions she knows not the names for are how she wins battles --she holds, what some may call, the greatest strength of all: strength of heart. Manefesting itself in her affinity for her element, she manipulates it without conscious knowledge; others should be wary of the innocence of a child's unbridled powers. Danger lurks for those that strike fear into the elegant girl, but to anger Mae Ri is to challange all she holds dear.
Personality: All children are whimsical and pure. The same holds true for Mae Ri, but while her body matures into womanhood, her little-girl notions seem to grow all the purer. She should like nothing more than for you to like her and be pleased with what she does and it takes nothing more than a smile to please the little Mae Ri. The logic is simple: If someone smiles that means she has done something right. If someone cries, they're sad and hurt. If someone is angry, then Mae Ri has done something wrong. Innocent, honest, and pure to a painful extent, Mei Ri wants the best for everyone.
Destruction of villages and the sight of a paper cut send her straight to tears, but, for some reason, she always fails to acknowledge the sight of her own blood. She wonders what it is and where it comes from, but that's not to say it doesnt hurt. Pain confuses her and it seems as though she'll never understand the need for it. She learns as she goes, as an infant would, about her world --what pains, what doesnt, what she can eat, and how to do things. The warmth of fire comforts her as does the soft lull of a breeze, but all things in excess frightens her. Even extended silence puts Mae Ri on edge. Mae Ri would much rather weave garlands or play in the shallows than farm or fish.
Skills:
Water Manipulation- Discovered in the company of the Redeemer, Mae Ri managed to call the water from a nearby cup to douse a fire that had burned her hand. In what she can remember, this was the first use of this ability. After taking up lessons under the tutelage of the elves, Mae Ri's abilities with water blossomed.
It was found that she can summon and manipulate the formation of water from any source within approximately twenty feet of her body. Twenty, however, required every bit of her concentration and strength to reach; in comparison, water within ten feet comes with ease. Once summoned, she can mold it to any shape of her mind's desire.
If she chooses to keep the shape, she can draw the warmth from the water to freeze it in place. This may seem simple and consequenceless, but by drawing the warmth from the water, she assumes that warmth within her own body. Take on too much of the warmth and Mae will burn form the inside out. At the same time, the power does not go both ways. This means she cannot put warmth from her body into the water, leaving no outlet for the heat. Although immersing her body in water does seem to cool her quicker than time, as if the water were drawing if from her instead of her giving it. But that is only perception.
Transformation- An ability not yet discovered by the memory-less girl, it nevertheless lies dormant within her reserves.
Vampire-werewolf couplings result in creatures known as chimeras. Mae Ri is one of them. Their distinctive power is the ability to change shape, transform into that of another creature. Each chimera, perfectly trained, can master any creature they choose. The transformation, however, is not a easy --or painless. No one that has not experienced the process can imagine the pains of rearranging bones, muscles, and organs, not to mention the growing of appendages. This factor alone leads a Chimera to shift only when necessary, to retain the new shape as long as possible.
At a young age, Mae was fascinated with animals, especially those of water, a fascination now deemed appropriate due to her water manipulation abilities. In that past she could easily shift between her female human shape and that of any water-dwelling creature. The process seemed to have been eased thanks to the girl's attributes to waterl; it was as if her body became as fluid as water as it rearranged. The effort to transform was still great, make no mistake of that, but less than that of a normal Chimera.
Sample Post:
Birds drifted over head, lazily letting the breeze choose their path as the daylight dwindled. That same breeze pulled at the valley's treetops and the field's grasses. The solitary river meandering through the valley rippled at the breeze's pull. With the ever-ranging breeze came the smell and smoke of a fire, something unnatural to the forest, but common to those of fire within the mountains.
Down the meandering stream came the breeze, playing upon all matter of things, until it found the body of a child along the river bank. It pulled at what strands of blonde hair were dry for half of her slender form remained within the cool waters. Face down in the grassy bank she looked as though sleeping. She looked more like a glass doll than a living child. The fish hovering around her toes failed to wake her as well as she tickling of the grass on her bare arms and face. The smell of smoke did nothing to jar her senses, nor did the sounds made by the man and his mount.
The child's world remained dark as the sky turned from blue to shades of brilliant reds and deep purples. Soon the stars would surface and another day would end. The number of days this girl had seen were unknown to the fish, even to her softly breathing body. It was a wonder nothing had come for her.
Short, yes, but true to my style and how my posts would look on a normal to off-day basis. If anything this is the absolute minimum I will post.
