Name: Shizuka Kôken-nin
Race: winged cat demon
Gender: female
Corner Preference: I would like to be apart of the people who are pledge to the goddess to the wind…please.
Age: Shizuka appear to be 15, but actually she is a 105 year old winged cat demon.
Description: Shizuka is a youthful winged cat demon with icy blue eyes. Her hair is a golden brown color with deep red highlights. Shizuka’s hair is long and silky. She styles her hair with her bangs off to the side on the right, and she has it hanging down most of the time. Shizuka has a lean body giving her much flexibility. She has long legs giving her speed, agility, and not to mention a height of 5’5”.
Shizuka is a unique demon. She has black cat ears with swirls of brown and a long, slender black cat tail with swirls of brown at the tip only. Also, Shizuka has black feathered wings with scattered brown feathers. Some of the black feathers even have light brown tips. Her clothes adapt to her special features. She wears a skin tight, black get up with holes in the shoulders, elbows, and knees, underneath a loose, maroon garment. The skin tight get up goes from the neck to the toes, and the maroon garment is longer in the back, about mid-calf, and is shorter in the front, about mid-thigh.
Shizuka has strong healing powers, that use up a lot of her own energy, so she becomes low on power quickly. When this certain event happens she is stubborn to admit it so she might get herself into ugly situations because of this stubbornness. Also, she is a rookie air bender. Meaning she has some powers, and she is gaining more and more. But unfortunately she does not have full control of some powers.
Personality: Shizuka is a demon with many sides. She can be kind and caring to all of her friends. Shizuka can also be the exact opposite. She can be a vicious, malicious demon too, especially if you get into a fight with her. In fight for her defense or in the defense of her friends, she shows no mercy towards anyone. She is very protective of all her friends and always keeps a watchful eye over everyone. Even though Shizuka is not the strongest demon out of her race, she still risks her life for the protection of every one of her friends. Also, Shizuka can be very stubborn at times and this causes her to want to take charge of what is going on by herself. Shizuka feels she needs to watch over everyone and at times the only right way to do that is for her to do it in her own way. This does cause some tension between her and her allies, but they always seem to work it out and still stay as tight as ever. Shizuka might be stubborn but sometimes does let one or two of her friends lead a situation with her. So in the end, Shizuka does love all of her friends and just wants what is best and is the safest for them.

In a peaceful village far off to the east, a new born cries for the love of its mother. A young beautiful face peers from out behind the blankets wrapped around it. Her soft tan skin, shines with joyfulness as it gazes upon her beloved mother. The mother, with fixed eyes on her daughter, smiled in a way that showed both love and deep protection. She was as protective as a mother cat would be to her own young. And so a new life begins, the life of Shizuka Kôken-nin.
The world continues like nothing had happened. She knows she is only a small part of the world, but she cannot ignore the fact. Soft steps crumple the grass, and a silhouette slowly walks underneath the moon’s light. Tears glisten down her fragile face. Sorrow, sadness, pain, depression cloud throughout her heart. Shizuka’s eyes were filled nothing…nothing at all. No life. No essence. The purity that was once there is now gone for now, buried deep. She does not feel like digging for herself anymore. The cool caressed her body and hair, but she did not feel it. She tried, but failed pathetically. She slowly lifted her head to gawk at the glory of the moon. Her mouth draped open, and her eyes fixed on to the moon. Memories flashed, her eyes filled with life again, but it was shallow.
Her mother smiled into her daughter’s eyes. Peaceful days were the ones she remembered. Shizuka was so curious. Unfortunately the saying, “curiosity killed the cat,” applied to her village too well. She remembered her father leaving for a whole week. Leaving only her and her mother. That day, all of the men left their wives and children. Shizuka’s wings were just developing, so she did not have the knowledge to know what was going on, and where they were off to. She just thought they were going on vacation, or a scavenger hunt. A week later all of the men returned.
Shizuka remembers the warm of her father’s grasp. He would pick her up and swing her around in circles, giving her problems when she tried to walk when set gently back to the earth. Her family was finally back together. They had a picnic outside. Shizuka was distracted by the butterflies. She tried to catch them while sitting in her mothers lap. Shizuka remembers her mother letting her go off and chase them to her heart’s content. As she ran further down the meadow of flowers her parents became as small as ants. She giggled and pretended to hold them in her hands. Purity was found in her heart back when it didn’t happen. She heard her mother cry out, telling her not to go too far off. But it was too late, she was already over the hill, and down it.
Her father pulled out a crystal. It was an eerie shade of black. Swirls of dark purple glowed behind the crystal glass. He said he had found it on his voyage. Shizuka’s ears perked up. A chill bolted down her spine. She got a horrible feeling, a feeling of something being stripped from her…something important. She turned and saw the same eerie black color being shot up into the atmosphere. The scent of blood filled her nose. She ran back up the hill to where her parents were to be. Wind stroked her hair. It drifted more blood into her nose. Her sapphire blue eyes went narrow. Her heart stopped. Shock entered her eyes changing them to a ghostly icy blue. A whirlpool of darkness lurked above her. It swallowed everything, her village, her friends, her family, her parents. Tears rolled down her young face, freezing once they released from her face. A chilling breeze embraced her skin, causing numbness throughout her body. Shizuka went into a coma. Eyes open, tears rolling, the last words barely escaping her lush lips.
A background of pure darkness lit the small peaceful village far of to the east. Killing, suffocating everything, except for one small winged cat demon child.
The memories drifted in Shizuka’s heart. She closed her shocked eyes, and let out a shallow sigh of pain. She looked down and behind at the only thing that kept her company…her shadow. It was always with her, it went through everything with her. Through the pain, sorrow, and even the pure happiness. Where she walked, it followed. Where she drifted it drifted right by her side. She continued to walk through the quiet of the night. Trying to forget about everything, but she knew it was impossible to do so.. She was taught that memories, the painful ones and all, never fade, no matter how hard you try to forget them, you will always fail. The warmth of her mother’s smile, and the feeling of her father’s embrace are the only two thing she wishes to remember…nothing else. Just them and the family moments they shared. Shizuka’s petite feet carried her tired, heavy body across the abandoned field. A field only animals occupied. The nocturne of the night soothed the pain in her heart. But it would not erase the feeling of seclusion, the feeling of loneliness. She spread her slender, tan arms out, and leaned her head back. Her brown and red hair tumbled back off her shoulders, flowing freely in the slow breeze barely felt to the touch of skin. Her body fell with a certain gracefulness on to the softness of the field of grass. Shizuka’s eyes coasted shut. Her breath steadied. The heartbeat slowed to a sleeping pace. The moon glowed above the lonely silhouette, that was laying down on the earth it shined upon. The world went on continuing its normal routine pretending that nothing else existed in its territory. Finding out the hard way, Shizuka realized this. She is only a small part of the colossal world. Only a small being in a large abyss of wonder. Every night, this theory, no this fact of life, ran through her head over and over again.
