Kayle had finally made it into the earth territory. On her travels with Valence, though short-lived, she had heard a rumor that Satazan might be having political quarrels with the other territories. There were hushed concerns of the gates to the territory closing. There was no way Kayle was going to get trapped out of this territory, not after she was chased by thieves, demon hounds, and monsters! Not a chance! Kayle and Valence parted ways on good terms, though Kayle never did get his real name, but it didn't matter, as she took off in a laughing sprint toward the city. It was late in the evening when Kayle entered the town.
What information Kayle had on the town: none. Wise: no. But that was Kayle, she only had one goal in mind and that was really it. She had to find Satazan, needed to speak to him. As she wandered the streets, boots clicking against the ground, she noticed that nearly every man in the city had a horse beside him. Men even seemed to steer about small herds of horses. They seemed bigger than the horses she had seen on her travels, but they were still pretty. Pretty, ha, Kayle hadn't used such a feminine word in such a long time.
There was a lone horse tied to it's post, absent-mindedly kicking at the cobblestone. With nothing else to do, she wandered over to the horse smiling. The disastrous vagabond always had a soft spot for an animal. The horse snorted and shook it's head, but generally didn't seem to intimidated by her. The horse taller than she was.
"What a pretty horse, I wonder what you were bred for," she cooed, running her fingers along it's silky coat. The horse was well taken care of, it had such strong breeding, Kayle could only assume by the way it stood with such pride.
She continued stroking the horse. Kayle moved to touch the horse's ears, but apparently he didn't like that. All of the sudden his front legs rose into the air and he let out a loud whiny before crashing back down only inches from her feet. The horse continued to jump about, pulling on its rope.
Of course this warranted attention Kayle hadn't asked for. Unsure of what to do, she desperately tried to grab the reigns to calm the horse without getting stomped upon.
"What on earth are you doing?" A man hollered from somewhere in the distance beyond the horse.
It came out of no where, but a man sprinted up to the horse and grabbed the reins, in the process body-checking Kayle into the ground. "Calm down you damn horse!"
From the ground Kayle rubbed the forearm she had fallen on, sitting up to straighten out her skirt and jacket. The horse slowly eased up on the whinnying until it merely huffed and stomped its feet. The worst was over now, so she thought.
"What the hell were you trying to do stealing my horse?" The man now loomed over her, by his appearance she could tell he was a man of the town and nothing else. He'd probably lived here his entire life. "Hey, I'm talking to you bitch!"
So much for not being a disaster.
