352 years
Description:
He has raven's wing black hair--tinged by a blue aura in its highlights. The ends of his ebony tassles have been dyed with a vibrant and capturing red glare that stands out with the rest of his attire--predominately crimson. His eyes, similiarly, are a striking shade of perpetual red, as if the pigment that was destined for them never came through. They shine with unending fire and seem to live as if a light lays behind them, intensifying their disturbing red shade. His skin, is pale, but not colorless and fades with the cycles of the sun, like any normal creature, but it is not flawless even though it appears as such. Upon his left hand, he bears a branded insignia, forced upon him in his earlier years. It is the Kanji character for Dangerous, and he hides it to remove that horrible first impression--though it is undoubtably true of his nature. The burned, scarred skin, was infused with black paint and stands out vividly against the paleness of his complexion should it ever remain visible.
Beyond the colors of his stature, he is a tall man, looking almost elfish in his heritage, though he is no elf. His face is long, slender, bearing a narrow bridge and shallow eyes, and his shoulders are thin, suspending a lithe, muscularly toned body built for speed and agility.
He wears thin plates of imprinted armor over his arms and legs--though they are more ornamental than useful and he is often guilty of removing them from his persona, to carry them within a leather bag. His garments are always black. Any other color ashames him and he would not be seen about. His cloak, is similiarly black, however it is frayed and charred upon the ends--seeing more wear and tear than any of his possessions. It is infused with red flames that at times almost seem to come alive, though it is only a play of the imagination.
Personality:
Kiao is not an easy character to get along with. He lives with a passion that is solely his own and rejects authority with a terrifying resentment. He lives by his own rules, by his own laws, and does not believe there is a soul in existance that can tell him otherwise. To retain him, to govern him, to control him is like playing with fire or catching the wind... one is unwise, the other impossible. He has few morals, and decides his life in relation to his strength. To him, murder is not as much of a sin... as it is a game; death is nothing to be afraid of. If it is in his power to comit and he finds enough reason to do so... it will be done. He is a free man, and lives and breaths that freedom as if to deprive it of him would signal his end.
He's a very serious, very dark, heavily sarcastic character--his sadistic lifestyle leads many to consider him insane, but they will never fully understand. Fed the virtues of right and wrong... they have never felt the adrenaline of fighting to kill, killing for the sheer enjoyment of doing so. It is a hunter's instinct and it lives vengefully within his heart. The thrill of a hunt... the enjoyment of hunting something that could in essence reason and think, plot to turn the tables and switch the tides. It is a game like no other... and Kiao has never lost.
Yet, he is truthfully very sane, but his mind works in a different manner than many. There are few who live without moral, few who can look to death, disease, crime, and punishment without flinching at some time or another. Moral is a restricted line that a person dare never cross, less they lose themselves and their sanity. But Kiao... is truly a free man, living by his own design, he has no moral, and lives by only a few general guidlines that will only surface when the mood is right. Do not be fooled, he is no mere killer--mindlessly purging the world of wanderers, vagabonds, and other random innocents. All his crimes have reason of some kind or another... usually fueled by a vendetta... and he never forgets a face. He won't hesitate... he never has. And it doesn't bother him to kill thousands in order to eliminate just one.
Skills:
As stated before he is similiar to the race of shape shifters, whom can morph there bodies to their desires. However, his magic is much more extensive and that is what sets his breed apart from others.
His one and only magic, is his ability to "copy."
Physical contact must be made, and the amount of time exposed to the target matters dearly. Yet, anyone he touches--any living thing he bumps into--can easily become a target. For on contact, and at his beckoning his abilities allow him to take a complete, genetic, and phsycological copy of his victim--so to say. His "carbon copy" is flawless. Every imperfection of his target is now within his mind, within his reach. He can then become--in all entirety--that person. Down to every fingerprint, every cell, every function of every physical part of his body. Even his mind can become a part of their psyche. If given enough time, if he has prolonged contact with anyone, he can even pull away with some of their thoughts. Some of their secrets. It is what makes his disguise complete. However, most instances do not allow him the time necessary to complete such an ultimate "copy". A few glimpses at their personality is usually the most he can ever receive before he must break away without looking foolish or conspicuous. But he cares very little about their dark secrets. He can get enough just physically and magically. Indeed, even their magic is susceptable to his touch. Everything is literally at his fingertips. When I say, he becomes them... he literally becomes them. It is why he need no other magic. This one is enough.
Now, just to note, his magics do not directly effect those he copies--they may notice a light headedness, but he does not drain them of power, or nag at their conscience. He merely "copies" quickly, painlessly, and departs--none the wiser.
Yet, unfortunately, like all grand schemes in life there is always a fall through that waits hungrily to cripple its user. Thus, his magic was not completely flawless. Due to its powerfull extenses, he cannot store more than one persona at a time. More than one, proves too much--and though it can be done--it is very taxing on mind, body, and soul. Many a Mimyk have died because they let too much power fester inside their bodies, eventually running off their very life source--leading to their demise. Recklessly, Kiao has tried this once, and it nearly killed him, dare say he shall never do it again.
Also, a transformation on its own is very grueling. It takes time to shift from form to form--it cannot be done within seconds, it cannot be done within minutes. Fortunately, Kiao is powerful enough to complete a transformation within an hour, but for many it takes far longer than that. Afterall, you cannot become someone different without sacrifice to time. But that is the least of the worry. Time is easy enough to deal with, but the pain is not so pleasent. Shifting physical components is a horrendous process and not for the faint of heart.
When finally transformed, he has all the benefits of that person. Physical skills, attributes as well as their magic, whatever it may be. Sometimes unfamiliar power can be unpredictable, so that is also a risk all of its own. Still, more... his transformations last only as long as his mental and physical strength. The body always remembers as it was... and it always wants to return back into the shapes and circumstances it is familiar with. Therefore, it takes will of mind and pure physical strength to maintain a specific stature. He cannot hold a guise for too long.
----------------------------------------
He is also gifted at the use of a broadsword. His own blade is thinly made, but specific to him. It's detailed hilt was forged in a smithy where Kiao's own blood was fashioned into the red draconic design that flourishes the cold steel. Thus it is bonded to him, and any else whom should try to use it would find it almost cumbersome. It works as if independent, and seems so much more lethal in the hands it was destined for--Kiao's.
