Name: Selena Pyorous
Age: 25
Race: fire witch
Gender: female
Corner Preference: fire
Description:
Selena is the daughter of wealthy aristocrats who have served the fire lord for many years. She is a beauty and an intellect. Her hair is so soft to possibly be made of silk which fits perfect with her delicate looking face. Its length goes to the mid of her back and its color is a honey brown with lighter and darker hues throughout. Her eyes are a brilliant gray, almost crystal in color. The gray is inviting, warm, and piercing with her stare. Her long eyes lashes hide her eyes though, adding a touch of something being hidden behind her eyes. Always being inside for her lessons, she has little to no tan. The lack of tan shows her skin creamy and rosy in the cheeks. Her lips are soft and a warm pink. She is of a healthy weight, tender flesh and light muscle for never needing to work a day in her life. She is an inch or two over then average height of the rest of the aristocrat women (5, 7”). Her attire normally consists of long robes. She normally downs a long black dress. The dress has no shoulders, ties around her neck, about mid back laces are tided to tighten around her middle, and at hips the dress loosens up to a wavy skirt that goes to her ankles. Her dress covers the tops of her black sandals.
Personality:
Selena comes from two very wealthy parents. She was raised in a cold aristocrat family whose last name goes back centuries in the fire lands history. Her parents raised her to be everything a rich daughter was meant to be. Around her parents and others she acts the role. She acts slightly snobbish and looks down her nose at people her parents deem unworthy of her. Although she will look at them, because she seeks something she has yet to find. Nevertheless though she follows in her parents skirts, and listens to her orders. Never does she look her parents in the eyes; she is below them. From time to time when she is seen without her parents she looks warmer and inviting with her constant smile, but when spoken to she has a sense of coldness about her even though she is polite and nice with her words.
Only once had she met someone who saw the real Selena. Yet, even her best of friends couldn’t see everything. Only one would ever get her to shed her parents and confess her true self. Only one would ever captivate her to find out as much as possible about them. To have her not always be nice and polite, but be honest with her heart. To be the person that receive true warmness from her, and real smiles. The one she’ll meet eyes with every time and be able to freely speak of her interests, including the war. This person is who she seeks. She has yet to find him except for in her dreams where she sees what shall be one day. (She doesn’t see his face in her dreams though so she knows he is out there but not who he is.)
Selena is not one to often get mad. The rare occasions she is mad deals with her parents normally.
Skills:
Selena, being a fire witch and not sorceress she has no true control of fire. She can not create fire for her abilities but must have it supplied. She also can not use her abilities in the coldest months of the winter, and when wet. She is weak to the cold and water. Her first ability is being able to gaze into fire to see people. This gift only works though if she is familiar with the being and to see where they are she must of come in contact with them and must know the place on her own accord. Her second ability is to be able to weave fire, from a source, around to make a shield of the substance. There are two down falls of this ability; she will lose the shield if the source goes out and a being able to withstand flame can go through it.
Sample:
The cold of winter ripped at her skirts as she walked the length of her balcony. Her head turned down, looking upon the road toward the fire lords offices. She couldn’t help her feet from stopping so her eyes and brain could see what she saw. Oh, how this world is. The cold making her breath visible and her lungs burn. Oh how the beauty is all around and I must not be included in it. She sighed and leaned against the cold wall. These cold walls tell me I have all the beauty of the rich and my face… the beauty of a wealthy aristocrat’s daughter. Smiling down at the world below her. They say it’s below me… but my happiness is some where down there… And even farther, Looking out to the horizon, there are people below me who I would gladly stand next to, to be worthy of a part of this world. Just to have a piece of the world below.
Below soldiers patrolling the roads seemed to cluster together and head toward their lord’s office to report to their commander. It had been few times that her parents had met with the lord and Selena had been allowed to attend too; the man was impressive to be putting it very mildly. This land’s lord was indefinitely in the right spot and fit into his spot immensely well. He was one of the few people that Selena’s parents told her that she would never be able to rightly meet eyes with. All these soldiers are so much more worthy than I of this life. I don’t even have the gusto to stand up to my parents and request right to study the current events with the war. The wind suddenly kicked up and nearly knocked Selena off balance. She gripped onto the railing and held herself there with her eyes shut. The cold rattled her body. She was not yet strong enough with her gift to withstand the weakness the cold brought her. With the wind stopping Selena rose from the railing and started for her door.
For another day… I have to turn on you world… some day I pray… I’ll be welcome there…
